Stuck Bricked phone. Can only use Fastboot Flash mode. - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi all. Im new and I have a problem which I cant seem to fix.
I bricked my phone trying to drop it to stock so that I could get ICS. I had gingerbread at the time.
So when I got it bricked. I googled and tried a bunch of things like Droid razr utility 1.4, 1.7,1.8. I tried them all to restore my phone to the original ,but everytime it doesnt work. I get errors saying stuff like " failed <remote> and it just keeps occuring...
I cant go into recovery mode or anything else, I can only use AP fast boot :\ .
Its really annoying know,I downloaded a bunch of tools and all have not work...the only one I havent used is RSDlite. But im confused about it because Im suppose to download the file its suppose to restore to.But I cant find it...my phone is the motorola droid razr ,and its GSM im pretty sure. I live in Canada :s...and I remember seeing it used asia retail version. So i dont know if that helps...I know it had gingerbread because everytime I had a system update to 6.1.40 or something like that. And it would always fail like 25% through installation...thats why I tried restoring to stock.
....So please help me. Im really stuck and dont know what to do.
Much appreciated.

If you are sure that you are using an asian razr gsm,
you can download this fastboot file "673.94.324.XT910.PSHAsiaRetail.en.03" from this forum:
http://www.droidevelopers.com/showt...ia-Retail-amp-ME-Retail-ICS-Firmware-download
Sign up needed though, and flash with RSDlite by following instructions in that thread.

Everytime I try droid uitlity. it does nothing. I get failed remote.....i tried all versions. 1.8,1.7,1.6,1.4-1.142.
Also I should note.I think the reason my phone is bricked is because I tried downgrading but I didnt root my phone...so yea.

Shouldnt matter if you were rooted or not if your going to Fast Boot back. You are using the Utility for GSM and not CDMA?

The instructions to flash back using fastboot are here: http://theunlockr.com/2012/01/24/how-to-restore-the-motorola-droid-razr-using-fastboot-files/ and the fastboot files can be found here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org Just make sure you're using the right file for your carrier, and the md5 matches.
Once you're on stock ICS, you might want to think twice about rooting it. Motorola includes a root checker in the ICS update. I wish I would have realized this before I rooted, since the only thing I really needed was wifi tethering, which you can get on stock, unrooted using FoxFi.
Good luck!

hmmm ill give this a try.this is basically my last resort hopefully it works! il let you guys know how it goes!

Okay so next problem...I got rsdlite 5.7 . I tried 3 different versions...the "spyderird_u.01.26.0...sign_asia" didnt pass the first step...and the "fastboot-p2b_spyd....chinaretail " aswell didnt pass the first step....but I tried the "SPDREM_U_01.6.5.1-7..hwp2b._SIGNED" and i got all the way to the 6th step...so im concluding I just have to find the one that takes me through the process fully....any ideas which version would acheive this?
I posted my phone version and info above....ill repost here.

Then got to the dell logo and just stuck there, was there for about half hour so took battery out and rebooted. Phone worked fine. So thought it might be that the phone was footed so backed up and did a factory reset, update still did the same. Anyway now ive restored all my stuff back onto normal 2.2 stock. My contacts from sim wont import, it finds them then I click import all it does the bar progression thing, but when it finishes it, they dont show up.

Fastboot from backup?

Hey guys I need major help (I searched the whole forum and the internet).
I rooted my device and installed Razr Bootstrap and then I installed Arctic 3.0.0 + Hebrew mod, and I got boot looped.
So the thing is, I gotta fastboot now, but Im not sure which fastboot file I need (there are many versions and Im not sure which one matches my phone).
The thing is, I have a backup file I mad using CWM on my external SD card, can I use it to fastboot?
Please help me, Im kinda hopeless right now.
BTW: My computer wont recognize the Razr, I downloaded the drivers through MotoHelper and still nothing, what do I do?

go into motorola.com and look for support/warranty then provide your IMEI and you'll get exactly model of your razr. Then grab the indicared rom to ur razr and flash it with rsd lite
After flashing correct rom you'll be able to restore ur backup on it.
A few tools you may need

The other poster gave good info. If it is not recognized try uninstall and then re install all drivers. Try different cable. Try different usb port.
Thanks guys, a few more questions.
Where can I see my IMEI?
Do I need to provide my IMEI to a motorolla support employee, or can I get the model by IMEI automatically?
Open up the slot where you put in your Sim card. Your imei is printed there.. On the flap.

Thanks guys, got my IMEI.
But I still dont understand - how can I get the RAZR version using the IMEI?
If I fastboot my phone with the wrong version will I get bricked?
Do I have to use the exact same version?
Guys Im really sorry to bother, but you have to understand Ive been hanging around with no phone for 2 days, please help me out.
Will I get bricked if I get the wrong Fastboot file? cuz if I dont, I can try a few.
And how can I get my phone system version without turning it on? (it's on a bootloop).
The world is a big place dude. Where did you get your phone from? Africa? America? Asia? And which Telco?
Help us help you.
Well seeing since you have the Hebrew mod I assume it is a GSM xt910.And looking at the Rom page you downloaded from it says you need to start with a file from
Working for all build number 6.5.1-73. Find that build for your country. So Im also assuming you can get your file if you know your country from here.

[Q] Uses for bricked X2...

Hey guys, I think I'm in trouble. Two weeks ago I got an X2, and soon after discovered the Modding and Root world. Needless to say I ended bricking with Rom Manager. Obviously a user error... Anyway, I was wondering if there might be somehow I could use the memory on the phone as an external hard drive or something. Could I install the zipped .sbf file to SanDisk, and if I find a way to get back in to recovery....you see where I'm going with this.
Thanks again

Yes I have. I rooted it initially and everything was fine until I lagged the system somehow with certain settings. The learning curve is not a big one, but its still existent. Anyway, I wiped and flashed .sbf perfectly. It was only when I rooted the second time and opted for a Mod where things went badly...I guess. No warning, the device just shuts off and comes back to the boot screen(Motorola emblem). No fastboot option or anything.

You'd be surprised by how many people on ebay and other sites want bricked devices. Some use them for parts and others just want to screw around with them.

I'd be very surprised if this was truly bricked. When you rooted the second time, did you get bootstrap recovery installed? If so you can pull the battery, leave it turned off and plug it into a wall charger. It should power itself on and take you right to ClockWorkMod recovery and from there you could Use ADB to push a working rom and start off on a clean slate (or restore a nandroid if you made one before flashing mods.)
Otherwise, I would suggest continuing trying to get in the device in RSD mode. Sometimes these phones can be finicky, I know when I first started messing with Androids it would often take several times to get to the Bootloader options rather than just powering on the device.
What was the questionable mod you used?

Have you tried following my tutorial on SBF? Try holding the Volume Up button and see if you get to the "Starting RSD" (or something like that). You should be able to SBF from there.
The link is in my signature or here: HowTo: Perform a SBF ("factory restore") of your Motorola Droid X2
Ciao!
As long as the phone turns on you can fix it. SBF will fix your issue.

If it truly is bricked, you could use it for batting practice. I've wanted to do that to a working X2 many times, so I know I would if it were bricked
Sbf sbf S B F
make sure u charge ur battery full up before flashing sbf file
Like moon said power button and volume up starts rsd protocol
If that doesn't work there is also a thing called ezSBF someone can tell ya bout
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 Beta-6
I've tried the fastboot(volume button) method and there is nothing. No response what so ever. I've never even heard of EZsbf, but I'm gonna try it out. Oh, whoever asked about the MOD a while ago....it was gingerbread I think. The only thing I wanted was to overclock my cpu's just a bit, but ended up getting in way over my head very quickly. The light comes on when the phone is plugged in with no battery and stays on. Other than that no change. Hey thanks guys, alot!
No not fast boot
That shows when u press power and volume down together(u need to hold both buttons down)
Instead
PRESS POWER BUTTON AND VOLUME UP AT SAME TIME and hold them BOTH for about 10seconds. U should see "starting RSD protocol..." at the top of ur screen
If u don't then u probly need to charge ur battery
Also
We have NO WAY to over clock due to our locked bootloader. You need to be able to install a custom kernel to be able to over clock and we can't do that.
I recommend not to try any mods or anything outside of this DROIDX2 development forum(don't even use stuff made for original X it will mess ur phone up. And definitely stay away from atrix, photon, etc...even if something says "universal mod/tweak/hack" its most likely gonna break ur x2 cuz the x2 is just a finnicky ass phone lol)
Good luck!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 Beta-6
You need to reinsert the battery, keep the phone off, then plug it in to the wall charger. If you had BSR installed it'll boot into recovery.

Yeah, you're right! Still new to threading! I was able to initialize DSP Restore, but I didn't have bootstrap prior to the crash, but beca use the X2 was now recognized I could push the .sbf using DSPlite. Then, once the nano was open I just factory defaulted, because my service wasn't recognized by my carrier.... And they all modded happily ever after. I do have a question though: what do you think about trying the root again and instead of manually removing the fluff programming I get a manger to take care of it? This thing is factory pure right now. Btw, I'd like to call attention to where this is being posted from. That is called success...thanks again.

There is a list in this forum from a long while ago that has what's safe to remove and what isn't.
But the easiest thing u could do is to flash either eclipse, molten, liberty , or cm7
They will pretty much get rid of ALL the bloat that is safe to remove and cm7 will even remove ALL the blur skin along with bloat and give you an AOSP experience with your device
signature: 404 error
I'm going to try it....now!
Its pretty hard to brick these devices with the SBF file Motorola supplies. And just a suggestion for future reference, DO NOT use ROM manager with this phone. ROM manager is more for phones with an unlocked bootloader which this phone doesnt have. Some things will work but some things will mess up your phone.

But make a nandroid first!
That way if u wanna go back u don't need to flash sbf u can just restore ur nandroid and be on ur way lol

Ok, just to check my rationale: I'm going to create a Nandroid, to the SD, but I should download CM7 to my PC and install it that way so as not to lag or cause any complications with the X2. Correct?

There is a chance my new phone will have 4.1.2 installed coming from the factory which will make me not need to reinstall 4.1.2
any help would be appreciated I believe I need to update my firmware as well before installing this...i'm not really sure what that entails ... I may just not install this at all if I think I can't get it done correctly or if it will make the same mistake as last time
For anyone that this happens to and I know there are others, the fix is really easy.

Just grab a copy of a completely stock 4.3 RUU from tmobile and then just use that above thread to restore it back to 4.3. It's really really easy.
In a nutshell you will just make sure to have adb and fastboot and you will be able to communicate with your phone even without having USB DEBUGGING on. The RUU will do everything by itself. The thing is that when you start that program it will spend a few minutes opening up. You will think it's not doing anything but just wait or even open up task manager and you will see the file working. Slowly it will get bigger and bigger until it finally starts up as it unlocks the files needed.
I didn't even need to go buy USB OTG to use a mouse to help turn on USB DEBUGGING.
The really strange thing is that somehow my old homescreen pic stayed throughout this whole ordeal. lol
thanks again to blackangst for helping
