Roms - HTC EVO 3D

my 4ext recovery told me that I my system takes up 750 mb out of ~900. what does this mean? isnt this too big? also, what is rom grj22? is that the stock rom for GB? Does the fact that its a big system slow down my phone, I have noticed it was slow after i downgraded from ics. is there a way to get a rom with a system taking up less space?

The roms come compressed in a zip format, typically from 250 mb - 550 mb , you are ok with the space remaining as you can either remove aps or move them to your sdcard, now in regards to speed, the size of the Rom has no determination on how fast the rom is, it has more to do with the rom itself, kernel and extra apk installed

How is my amount of space ok? Isn't the rom taking up 750mb of space? Also, what is Rom grj22? Is that the stock rom?

Idk about the stock Rom size but typically asop Roms are on the much slimmer side and have very little to them... If you want stock check out dev forums to find a slim down stock

[Q] Increase Ram?

Hello,
I am curious, I have looked around but haven't really found any good or helpful information in regards to this. Although the Xperia X10 has 384mb of system ram. If I move a bunch of apps using Link2sd and free up so much space, is there anyway to increase the 384mb limit, say add another 128mb to make it 512mb thus enhancing the device?
or am i out of town on this one?
buddy our first focus should be to atleast use full 384 mb...
however we are right now only using just 256 mb of the ram.....
if you really want to use more, flash data2sd.zip through xrecovery. but, know that it is slower :S just try using a different ROM, Jerpelea's cm7 is very fast and snappy, a bit buggy for now, but try some other ones, you might find one you like

Thank you to your response but I feel it's still more RAM consuming 'cause almost 50% of the RAM was consumed by those start up programs and executed apps. Thanks again
All sense 3.0 roms use more ram than aosp roms because sense needs more ram memory in order to run smoothly. I've been using ROMeOS for quite a long time and I like it very much. It says it's without sense, but in fact it has a themed version of sense, so it shouldn't make a big difference in ram usage. Another great rom is LeeDroid 5.4.
Iv just bought a evo3d and was wondering the same, i fancy the leedroid rom, suppose its trial and error till you find the rom you like

Actually I like your ROM so much, that Beats NG, but still due to its Beta Version the ROM was not stable that much and find some minor bugs and consumes more ram, overall that's 1 of the finest ROM i've used.

Where is the other 344MB of memory

The phone suppose to have 1gb memory but the task manager only shows 680MB

The missing memory is used for the android os itself

Most of it is reserved for the gpu and video camera. Once our custom kernels become more feature rich, the developers will be able to set how much needs to be reserved.
On my NS4G, we got an extra 80 mb, which was great, given that it had only 512 mb.
both the kernels in the original android section now give 725 meg
Kernels are progressing nicely, I think. Using AwesomeSauce 1.3 I'm seeing 726MB total instead of 680MB.

I'm using the Enoch kernel right now...I find I get better battery life with it than I do with AS. It also bumps total memory up to 725.

SENSE or Pure Android

A thread was created about this a while back but now times have changed so i wanted to ask for opinion. Sense or pure Google for your liking?
This is my first HTC device and I decided to run stock on this phone and its great! sense is nice and its has replaced many third party apps that i would use on AOSP ROMS. But i do have complains about sense or more particular, Meanrom 4.1+.
I know this device has a large screen and all and battery is beefy but on regular use, im getting about 11-12 hours on MeanRom. I was expecting 16+ hours. its not bad but coming from an LG with an S3 CPU, i feel like i havent moved anywhere with battery life.
Also, The memory seems to be low. Im used to having 300+mb RAM free all the time, now im on this and im between 100mb and 200mb And one more thing is that my screen brigteness doesnt stick to my settings and my cpu control app doesnt stick with my Gorvernor.
What do you guys think? im having a love hate thing here but having S-on, i dont want to constantly switch roms

Yeah, AOSP JB rocks for sure but I Think i will just search for A sense ROM with great battery life. Im missing the HTC image sense. The images on AOSP JB images look bad compared to the image quality on sense in both rear facing and front facing cameras. Also, im having proximity issues. What Sense Rom has had the best battery life in your usage or tests?

[Q] Super-Slim ROM Using TouchWiz ROM!

What is good, Note brethren?
I've been using CM9 since I got my Note and flipping love it.
Just to break the 'norm' a bit, I'd like to try the TouchWiz ICS ROM for our Note.
The only thing is ROM size. I love the small size of CM9/AOSP/AOKP ROMS, and would like to achieve the smallest ROM possible, without losing functionality.
I'll be using the Canadian ICS ROM!
Can anyone please inform me on what I need to remove from the ROM in order to make the ROM size super-streamlined?
If I could get the ROM size to under 300 MB, that would do nicely!
Thanks in advance!!
Padawan is only 400mb. That's pretty small for a TW ROM. Its also super-smooth.
