Didn't think about that! I will have to remember that! Unfortunately that's not the issue. I found out she was trying to load another ROM on it. She said she did a factory reset. I tried restoring and got "Could't open directory. No files found." Next I tried to choose zip from sdcard. That only pulled up
-ANDORID
-DOWNLOADING
-LOST.DIR
-TITANIUMBACKUP
There was nothing with in any of those files that I could flash. Help Please?!?!?!?!?:crying:

If you can verify the presence of a nandroid backup....created by CWM recovery ....then you may be able to use rom manager to restore the build. As they are compatible and made by the same developer. It's odd that you can't see the backup.
Can you see it from a file manager ?? Or can you move it ??? To a folder that is seen in recovery ???
Even if you can't access the file from the device ..you could use a PC and move it that way, then CWM could see it .
However, if you used some other method to create that backup ....then you must restore using the same method or application.
Worst case ....flash a fresh build and start again ...g

you could flash twrp recovery and see if it works with that

Check that you have enough space on your SD card.
Have you got debugging checked?
thank you for your quick answer. everything worked perferctly. but i kinda have another question. . how do i install a new radio. do i have to do it like i would install a new rom: So Rename the downloaded .zip to "update.zip" and copy it to my sd card. and then use the patched recovery thing to load it ?? or do i have to go another way.

You're right, you install exactly the same way. Just follow the instructions carefully.
what instructions?
i renamed it to update.zip but it says cant find such file or smth.
for what els do i need to take care of?
now it seeemed to work out. but after installing radio and rebooting im back on the recovery screen. it says formatting cache for some minutes now. is it right?
this can take a while...
FYI, if ur flashing from SD via the recovery image you dont need to rename to update zip, just select the option from any zip file..

Reboot into Download Mode, utilize Odin to flash back to JFD (directions in the Vibrant Bible sticky thread in the Dev forum), root, install ROM Manager, and then reinstall Bionix.

Find a copy of the update.zip from clockwork. Put this on your sd card (the internal one) and try the reinstall packages option.
If this doesn't work. Research odin and do a restore using it.

There is a file called update.zip that's created by ClockworkMod. There should be a few links on the net to help you out on where to download the most current version.

Did you put it on your internal sd card? If you can't boot you would have had to use ADB to push it there....
EDIT: Also, did you have a lag fix enabled, namely voodoo, before you tried to "restore"?
I have attached a copy of the update.zip for cwm vibrant and a copy of the files needed for adb. Let me know if you need help setting it up.

What is the point of making a backup? I mean, you can always go to stock using odin and the JFD tar and pit.
Is backup just to save all your personal files, pics, music, etc?

I have heard this over and over. I only have one question that I could not find anywhere. Do you need to rename the "Ginger_Clone_Final_R2.zip" to update.zip? Everytime I reboot into recovery and try and get ti to install, I get the same message over and over; something to the effect of package not found. Thanks

you don't rename it. maybe your choosing the update zip from sd. it should be choose zip file from sd card then you choose the custom rom you're flashing.

Yea, thanks. I thought that was what I am supposed to do. I don't have that option though. When I reboot into recovery (through ROM Manager or on my own) I only have the STOCK recovery options. For some reason, the Clockworkmod options are not showing up. I noticed this about a month ago. I will have to try and figure that out first. Thanks again.

Have you flashed clockwork recovery from rom manager? If so, when you get into stock recovery just hit reinstall packages to get to cwm. You may have to do that twice to get it to work. If it still doesnt work try reflashing cwm from rom manager.

I had been doing everything right. I had to roll back to CWM version 2.5 (I think it is about 3 or 4 versions earlier than the current one). No wonder they have been making so many updates over the past few days. Well at any rate, I wanted to ensure I wasn't doing anything wrong. i have done it before, but for whatever reason (now known to be CWM) it just wasn't working. I got it fixed and now have 2.3. I will install my apps including Titanium Backup and report any problems. I hope there are none; from what it sounds like, I will probably not have any, but only time will tell. Thanks for posting and confirming that I was not losing my mind.

[Resolved] Decided to root; I failed

Hello!
My GT-i9100T is my first android phone, I've been using for two months and I love it. This afternoon I decided to root my phone (I have never rooted or installed a custom ROM on this phone before) using this method, and I downloaded all the files and followed all instructions. When I selected 'apply update from external storage' it took a little while and gave me this error: 'E:unable to mount /sdcard (No such file or Directory)'.
I searched online but I couldn't find anything helpful but I did factory reset my phone and yet it still didn't work. Can anyone help me?

i think u should have put the files in ur internal sdcard not external, please check by doing so and see
ps - alternatively u can put the file's in ur cache folder and select 2 install the same from cache in recovery and see
Thanks for the swift reply!
I don't have an external SD card and I've never used one.
EDIT: I can't do that because the cache folder is inaccessible.

then try the alternative ie cache folder option and see, since the cwm .zip does require an extsd since thats the one giving u the error while updating if i am correct

You need a physical external sdcard in order for this to work.
If you're in need of root just flash a CF-Root kernel..

[Q] TWRP Backups being deleted at boot

Using XtreSoLite ROM on a Galaxy S5. When I do a TWRP backup (default settings) and I target my external SD card (64GB SanDisk microSD), the backup succeeds and I can go back to the main TWRP menu and verify that the backup was created in a new folder called 'TWRP' on the SD card. However, once I boot into the system and get past the unlock screen, that TWRP folder is deleted from the SD card along with the backup.
All of the other files on the SD card are untouched, just anything to do with TWRP is removed.
Any idea what could cause this? I searched the thread for my specific ROM with no luck regarding this issue.
I have this issue as well running the stock rom. I also have the 64 gb card. Near as I can tell something about the way TWRP is writing the files to the file system (exfat) android doesnt like and corrects which removes the files. If I pull the card out of the phone before booting android I can see the files on the PC. The work around I'm currently using is to mount an external USB storage to do my backup, then copying the backup to the SD card in android.
..
Hey there guys...its happening to me as well and its annoying because you cant rely in your backups!
Any solution or just that SD take out workaround? Its kinda dangerous because you can corrupt the SD by doing this often!

My solution for this error:
--Device S5 mini G800F
--TWRP 2.8.1
--MicroSD 64Gb
--TotalCommander for android instaled.
Step by Step:
1. Boot in recovery mode.
2. Create and save your backup into extSDCard (TWRP/backups folder).
* Example: extSDCard\TWRP\BACKUPS\14001308b6ffd4cc\2016-01-01--01-01-01 XXXXX.YYYYYYYYYYYYY
-- 2016-01-01--01-01-01 XXXXX.YYYYYYYYYYYYY = my last backup folder name created automatically by TWRP.
-- 2016-01-01--01-01-01 = backup date and time
-- XXXXX.YYYYYYYYYYYYY = phone and rom model/version
3. Open File Manager in TWRP and copy your backup folder (2016-01-01--01-01-01 XXXXX.YYYYYYYYYYYYY) from extSDCard to internal memory.
4. Restart your phone (system restart in twrp).
5. Open TotalCommander and navigate to extSDCard/backup folder (extSDCard\TWRP\BACKUPS\14001308b6ffd4cc)
6. Create new folder and rename it with your backup name folder. *Example: extSDCard\TWRP\BACKUPS\14001308b6ffd4cc\2016-01-01--01-01-01 XXXXX.YYYYYYYYYYYYY
7. Go to internal memory (copied backup folder) and copy all files to created folder in step 6.
8. Restart in recovery mode, run file manager in TWRP and delete backup folder from internal memory.
9. Restart your phone (system restart in twrp).
10. Finish.
