Google Now - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've tried the Google Now app for ICS on various X10 ICS roms, however none of them has worked.
The voice search works, but the Google Now feature, the one that tracks you in a creepy way, doesn't work. Whenever I activate it in settings the voice search app Force Closes.
¿Does anynone know how to solve this?

No one? Hasn't anyone tried this?

[Q] Facebook push notification problem

My facebook push notifications stopped working. Using slimbean rom build 2 newest version. The push notifications stopped working when I installed the new rom. When I someone sends me a message via facebook, I'll have to open it to know that there is a message. I couldn't find the option for push notifications on the rom. Pls help!!
I've been having the same problem, and I found a thread about it, not sire if it works yet. Download from the play store the app "Push Notifications Fixer" and it will fix the heartbeat of the phones connection, which may or may not be the issue.

Google voice typing.

I'm currently on rootbox and can't get Google voice typing to work. It just force closes on me and has happened on other jellybean ROMs for me. Has anybody else had this issue and if so how did you fix it?

Seems to be a common issue.
After your GApps is applied on top of the JB ROM, boot and go to Play Store and install Google search.

How to stop Google now from installing?

Hi all
I don't have Google now installed. But when I start to use Google search, now keeps trying to install itself. Can I permanently remove now? And just have search?
This is for CM10.1
Thanks

Have you tried starting Google Search, then Settings, then Google Now > Off ?

Thanks for your response
I have been there, it is already "off".
It is almost like Google Search is advertising Now, but I don't want it ask me to install Now every time, I just want to go straight to search.
Even hitting the microphone opens the Google Now install window, then I must hit the back button to go back to regular search.
This is really annoying for someone who doesn't want google now installed.

Google Now is not working

I am using a GS3 Temasek CM11 and a Nexus 7 2013 Kit Kat 4.4.2. Both devices were working properly (regarding Google Now). Suddenly both of them stopped to work.
I didn't see if the problem started as soon as i updated to Kit Kat.
Is this an account problem? Or did i screw something up in the process?
Regards
Chris

Do you installed it from Play Store? Or some gapps (0-day, banks, etc)?
Do you see some error, or the app just crash when trying to open it?
You can try cleaning the data for the app, or uninstalling/installing it again. Or flashing gapps again (wipe Dalvik at least).
I have done all of the above(at least for my rooted gs3).
When i try to launch Google now i only get the search bar allowing me to "search or say OK GOOGLE".
If i say "who's the president of USA?" it will answer.
But if i try to set a reminder i get this:
"Turn on Google now to set reminders for dates, times and locations.
Opt in to Google now."
Pressing the "opt in to google now" i again get the google search bar and no google now cards.
Also long pressing an empty space and selecting SETTINGS i dont see the option to enable google now.

New Nexus 5 and the problem is still there. Seems to be an account problem.
Hope Google fixes this asap..

Ive had the same issue.. I have a possible solution:
Settings > Location -- make sure its ON and google location reporting is ON.
for privacy reasons I had this OFF and I got 'unfortunately google search has stopped working'
I don't know if this answers your question but its a problem I had but fixed.

Google sound search not working on my One with the latest CM11 rom

Hi guys!
As the title says, for some reason the Google Sound Search app does not work on my phone with CM11. I have cleared the shops cache and even uninstalled it then reinstalled it, yet I still can't get it to work. When I click on the widget to try and use it, it says "opps, request failed. Retry?"
Any help would be great. Thanks!

I had a similar issue with this with OmniRom. I ended up having to uninstall Google Search (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN ALTERNATE LAUNCHER!) with RootAppDelete and then reinstall with with Google Play.
After I did that the voice search complete w/ "OK Google" started working again.
Once again. Change to an alternate launcher before force uninstalling Google Search as it is integrated in with the KitKat launcher.
It's not the voice search that's broken, it's the app that listens to the music then tells me the artist and song name. Google Ears I think it was called.
I tried what you suggested anyways but I still have the issue.

It's still there - just well hidden
If you go to google now or type on the mic in google search and there is some kind of music playin you'll see a blue 'note' on right bottom of your screen. Just tap on it ....
