Retrieve Data to PC - Android

Hi all,
I am going to write a tool for my FYP to retrieve metadata of pictures to know from where it was taken. How can I extract data from Android devices to PC? I will use JAVA as the programming language. Someone suggest me to send the files across a java pipe. How exactly is that work?
I am newbie here and I am lost exploring this forum. I can't find any thread related to my problem. Sorry if I post in the wrong place. Your help is very much appreciated.

Building GSM Application

Hallo.
I am a student and for my diploma thesis i have to develop an application for windows mobile. Meanwhile, I own a Qtek8500 therefore it will be my debugging device...
First of all, my application should be able to retrieve GSM Signal Strength and Gsm Cell Id..Using C#,VB i could only get percentage of signal strength and not an absolute value in dB. So i guess i have to build it with C++, but cannot find any source to read. MSDN provides a very generic example...
Can anyone help me with sample code, or any links with info?
ask on msdn forums
I will try that.
I found out that something really important is RIL.dll. This can be found inside the mobile, but I cannot copy it anywhere (permission denied). I was thinking of dumping the whole content of my mobile to an image or something and extract what i want from there. Is this kind of "dump" possible (and how)?
get it from attach
thank you very much!

[Q] File crypter/decrypter for Android AND PC

Hi all,
I use Dropbox to syncronize some files between my PCs and my android phone. The problem is that the files are downloaded in the phone's SDCARD which is unsafe. So I've been searching ... and didn't found an app available on PC AND Android that is able to crypt and decrypt files.
Somebody knows something about that ? I imagine a lot of people need this kind of functionality ....
thanks in advance.

[Q] Call log grouping by caller

I have searched the threads available on this topic, but was not able to find an answer so posting it again.
Call log is completely useless when you have the same person's name listed 20 times in a day, is there no way to group it by caller without installing any custom ROM's?
And also in the call log only time is displayed which is kind of useless as scrolling down is a pain the wrong place
i am new to android world, so pardon my ignorance, everyone talks about customizing android but i cant find simple options like the above to be done by getting in the file system and making the changes in the parameters file

any insights or help is appreciated.

[Q] Need help for decrypting Whatsapp conversation from the lost phone

Hey all...
This is my first post on this forum and I hope that this is the right place for my question.
I lost my phone, but I was able to find some data that I have copied to the PC not so long time ago. The thing is that I had some important dates and conversations on whatsapp and all what is left on my PC are db.crypt7 files which I can't open. I red a few guides about it, but some kind of key and software is required in order to open those files and I am 100% noob regarding things like that. So my question: Is there any chance to decrypt those files I have from the whatsapp folder of my lost Samsung Galaxy S2, or all hopes are lost? Phone was not rooted and all I can find are those few db.crypt7 files.
Thank you in advance!
