(Q) ICS Upgrade - Changing SI Code - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi, if you chance the SI code to try to get faster access to ICS via PCC, will it be a different version of the upgrade in any way? Would it have different apps/languages/anything? I see ICS is being reported available in India and Poland for the Sola, but I wonder will those versions be any different than say UK ICS?
Also...second question. I bought my phone in Germany, but I do not live there. I'm trying to update from another country. Will the update look for the German SI or my country right now?
Thanks!

You will get upgrade available for that SI code.SOmetimes regional updates have extra bloatware,Indian ICS might be slightly different than UK ICS,might not have certain languages.
It will look for Geman SI.

Official 2.1 Update: Three different versions??

According to this page: http://www.htc.com/europe/support.aspx, there will be three different versions of the official Android 2.1 update.
The new Build number after the update will be 2.73.405.93 (EU); 2.73.405.94 (Nordic) & 2.73.405.95 (Greece/ Ireland).

I'm assuming each version will just have different languages but... why would Ireland not be part of the usual EU update? People here in Ireland speak English, so you'd expect the software to be the same as used by the UK. (I very much doubt HTC have translated Android into Irish!)
Are there regional technical differences? Can anyone think of any reasons why Ireland would share a ROM with Greece?
Bump?
Anyone have any ideas about this?
No idea why, but I tried it in the UK and ended up with the .95 version! I had been on the rooted 2.73.405.66, set my date forward and got the update. But it didn't seem to offer much at the moment, so I went back to my old rooted .66!

[Q] 2.1 update in egypt and middle east

Did anyone from Egypt or Middle East( KSA, UAE, etc ) managed to get the 2.1 update till now?
I'm asking because i got bored of waiting and changed my Sales Item number to Global generic and updated my phone. I always check SE product blog with my SI number and no update till now for me.
I also noticed that the SI number on the back of my phone is not the same as the one in default.prop, is this normal ? and which number i should check on the SE product blog?
Really I have no idea, anyway I flashed the global Ans updated too
Why are you checking for the old numbers, I have no plans for returning back to the stock one since there isn't any difference.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Gentlemen can I ask you a question.. what is he mood in Egypt with the impending sale of Orascom's wireless division to the Russians? Anything in the news? I know that the media outlets there are censored and pro Orascom but was wondering if anything changed.
emmm
i think the default SI numbers should be .prop ones as the SEus check that which related to software ,
but what's the problem to get Uk , or other unbranded updates
we should not wait for our middle east updates
just go a head and use flashtool , install ur custom firmware no need even to change the configuration files , details

New Update Avaible

A new update from SE is avaible for Xperia x8
it's version is 2.1.A.0.390.
It isn't avaible for Poland so I can't check what it gives to us.
Tell me what to do if this is multitouch update to upgreade my x8
Oy!
Not available in Norway either. Think we were among the first to recieve previous update, so I'm a bit puzzled.
According to version number, it's the same as mentioned in the multitouch thread.
Any guestimates on its rootability?
Anyone have Cust code that have this yet?

Can you give m SI code for the latest update 2.0.2? Cause I'm in Bulgaria and here we still don't have 2.0.2. I dont want chinese firmware. Nordic SI code will be perfect.
In chineese you can change language -.-
But still I want nordic FW. The updates there comes first, right?
Thought so, but I'm smack in the middle of "nordic", and no update so far.
Maybe this is caused by me running... i think it's the russian firmware?
I have no idea, but does the russian Si code is updated to 2.0.2?
Also not available here in Greece. Waiting...
Does anything change in location codes for each version?
If my memory serve me, I did post my localization code for nordic firmware around the time of 2.1 update. I'll dig a bit.
Edit: Forgive my nubness, but I believe this to be my "customization code" from the time of 2.1 updates: 1242-7327_R3B
No idea if thats what you're looking for.
no notification on the SE Update site?
is this update going to delete everything (apps, sms) from my phone again?
I'm from Russia, but we dont have this update too...
update not yet available for me too..
its been certified..

[CLOSED][Q] Will I get Great Britian ICS firmware even though using Hungarian?

I am using the Hungarian stock firmware .58 and updated to .62 to get ready for official ICS update. I live in England and wondering will I get the ICS update when it is released in England or get the Hungarian update?
Anyone knows?
1) There is no big difference in the firmware anyway....
2) Depends on your SI and build.prop number.
3) Not sure, try and you will see.

[Q] Relation Between the Updates and Customization

Hello all,
I wonder something and I wanted to ask you for better understanding. So here is my question. If my phone has the CDA number of Central Europe and I change it to lets say Nordic Countries ROM. Does this mean from now on all the updates that will rollout in Nordic Countries will be valid for me? As a summary is this how Sony rollout the updates in different regions?
I know Nordic Countries have already updated their phone to Lollipop. Lets say I change my phones ROM from Central Europe to Nordic Countries KitKat version. Does this mean when I check for updates of Lollipop will I be able to see on OTA?
Thanks
