Are you using a launcher besides touchwiz? If so then that's why. You have to use TW.

Probably some built in BS specifically to that widget so you have to use TW. Its stupid.

CalWidget is a good alternative for other-than-TW launchers; check it out on Play Store.

Weather/clock widget

So love the phone, problem is that Tue accuweather widget doesn't update based on location. Any Widgets I have found on the market place are only 4 wide so it looks funky. What are you guys using for Widgets?

Antoniomisretta modified the Samsung Weather Widget to be transparent - worked great on GT-N7000 on Gingerbread ROMs, and he has done it for ICS, but I can't get it to work on my SGH-I717-UCLF6BS - loads, but not transparent.

well, i found a way around it, since exdialer does recognize your google contacts pictures, you just have to import your facebook pictures to your google contacts, there's a tool for this to use on your desktop.

Try SyncMyPix. If you have Facebook.

ICS or GB? Either way download the flashable ROMs from the DEV section and open them up. They are in /system/app. They only work if using the TW launcher.

Agree. I've tried and discarded most weather apps, but that one is my favourite.
Not worth keeping TW for though.

Alternatives to stock launcher or stock apps?

Hi...just interested to know if people are using any alternative launchers or alternative apps such as the messaging app as opposed to the stock stuff and WHY?
Sent from my U8815 using Tapatalk 2
I use QuickPic instead of Gallery. Because you can hide folders and you don't get the network folders showing up.

Is that the paid version as i miss vertical grid scrolling option?
What about messaging apps...don't think the stock app offers privacy mode!

I switch from back and forth from stock to the Xperia s launcher. It runs smooth on this phone and looks great too.
