New App On The Android Market! Download & Flash W/ Out A Computer! - Droid 2 Global Android Development

I built this awesome app this is On Google Play right now called AOKP Roms. I also have another called CyanogenMod roms. I AM IN NO WAY ASSOCIATED WITH EITHER OF THESE GROUPS! I SUPPORT THEIR DEVELOPMENT AND JUST WANT PEOPLE TO HAVE A WAY TO DOWNLOAD THEIR ROMS ON THE GO, SO THERE IS NO NEED FOR A COMPUTER.
FOR EXAMPLE: YOU COULD BE ON A PLANE, HOOKED UP TO WIFI, DOWNLOAD A ROM FROM EITHER CYANOGENMOD OR AOKP AND FLASH IT WHILE ON YOUR 3 HOURS FLIGHT. SET UP ALL YOUR CUSTOM SETTINGS ETC. WITHOUT THE NEED TO EVER TOUCH A PC.
ITS PRETTY NIFTY.
THE APP IS $1.99 ONLY BECAUSE ALL THE PROCEEDS DIRECTLY BENEFIT A FEW DIFFERENT CHARITIES IN MY AREA (NEW ENGLAND, USA).
MY NIECE WAS BORN WITH SEVERAL DISABILITIES AND THE PROCEEDS HELP PAY FOR HER HOSPITAL CARE ALONG WITH OTHERS IN THE AREA!
THANKS FOR YOUR INTREST IN MY APPLICATIONS!

Is that why your sig says you're using a DInc2?
And this belongs in Apps or General, not Development.

Paid apps have their own section in XDA and it isn't device specific. Thread locked

Likes/Dislikes of GBP7

What I would like to know is what are the likes and dislikes of GBP7? Android was founded on a community effort and with that basis is how I want the success of my ROM to be; a community effort. With the ever popular MIUI and CM roms, I found that these roms were developed by top notch developers, and even more so, the community behind them.
I need to know what you the user would like to see in GingerBread Phone 7! I can pump out the same updates over and over and fix compatibilities all day, but this will never grow to the success I want in my ROM.
Over the next few days I will be finalizing a couple tweaks in this ROM, and be moving on to the future development section. While in this transit, give me your thoughts and opinions to better serve you the community.

I have not tried it but FWISW http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1341095

hmm never seen this before. Thanks for this. Ill look into it.
Build Swype beta into your ROM If you haven't already. It irritates the hell out of me that I have to jump through all the hoops whenever I flash a new ROM. If you do end up doing this and you need help building it in PM me cause I've done it a bazillion times now.

Looks good, But the idea for now is to keep the current and build onto it. Although after the 2.3.5 release(I'm getting close), I'll look more into this concept and see how it works with the 2.3.5 release and build with it if the launcher is suitable to how I need the ROM to go.
Thanks for the suggestion tho. I've been referred to other launchers as well
EDIT:
I'm at work right now and I'm bored, so I'll go ahead and download the launcher and see how well it functions. Ill get back with you guys on this. I was looking more into the OP and it looks very nice, but I need to see the functionality of it. If it looks good, I may push back the 2.3.5 update a little further; to set up this for initial install of the launcher, but no guarantees.
I've considered playing with it but was so turned off trying launcher7 that I decided against it.
There were no videos or screenshots I could find so I skipped it.
If it's as snappy and elegant as the real wp7 though I'd give it a go and maybe even give it a write up on the general section of the blog I am building that's more fitness based but will have a tech section too.

I went through the same thing... it appears as if none of the ICS roms support LTE..
If you are in need of your mobile data because you are on contract with Verizon there is NO ROM that you can use. At best all you can do is root it, install pershoot's kernel and customize manually. Those of us on contact are all in the same boat, many for nearly a year now waiting for ICS drivers that support the modem. If you don't need the modem then use one of the CM9 or AOKP ones that specify vzw.
Even after drivers are oficially released dont expect a lot in terms of custom ROM support for the SCH-i905 though, there simply arent any developers building for it. AOKP should be all we need though when drivers do come.

Op... You don't get Hubs... You build it yourself...

As for hubs, in my opinion they are more trouble than they are worth since creating them requires multiple widgets and customizations that ultimately take more memory and cause more lag. To each their own. Its fun to tinker and I did dabble a bit into trying to create my own but decided agaist it after wanting to slit my wrists rather than deal with minimalistic text's awful settings UI a moment longer LOL. Props to those with the time and patience to do it, I lack both.
Sent from my SCH-I905 using Tapatalk 2
Thank you all, That answers everything. Hubs do seem like a ungodly amount of work. So I will be making my own approach at customization. Who knows what Ill end up with. And I am on contract and use my mobile data all the time. So its a necessity for me.

that is a very disappointing thing.. I really wish the device more closely resembled the other units.. but oh well.. its still a good tablet.
Agreed, for me this is a race between the release of ICS for this tablet or another LTE tablet on Verizon with ICS on it being released but with better hardware. would love to see the transformer infinity get LTE.

Alternate Kernel Choice AOSP/SAMMY w/ stweaks style sound app

I don't know if anyone is using this kernel yet but I have been using it for two days now and loving it. It was made for the n7105 but has been running perfectly on my vzw gnote2. It also has an app you download from the market "like" stweaks that lets you adjust cpu/gpu settings as well as sound including turning up in call mic volume. Just scroll down to the downloads section and download the n7105 versions for either tw(sammy) or aosp, I have tested both.
Only, issue so far is that the eq in the app (uneak) isn't working but I use noozxoide for that. Apparently the eq isn't working on the n7105 either so don't fill up his thread with compliants. Believe me, you will be impressed with the sound improvements using the kernel (neak) the app (uneak) and noozxoide from google play.
Find the original thread here. Be sure to read the entire op, there is a lot of useful information there.
I in no way take any credit for this, just wanted to share.
Just to be clear, you're flashing a non-Verizon kernel onto your Verizon Galaxy Note 2 and you aren't running into any issues? Is that correct?
I exclude that equalizer issue as you said it isn't working on the other phones either.

Correct, been running it for two days with no problems, no lock ups no sods no nothing. Running fast and smooth. Better sound than stweaks and perseus imo.
Well, that's awesome. Kind of curious whats up with that. In the past kernels for the international variants required "porting" to the Verizon/AT&T etc phones. Wonder why not with this one?
If it were possible to flash kernels from all the other variants on our Verizon Note 2's that would open a lot of doors for options.
Interesting.... Will try this out

Let us know how it goes, I think you will like it. Just make sure you download the right version.... lte tw, or lte aosp, depending on which rom your on.
Best kernel yet [aosp & tw versions]
WOW. Just came across this kernel randomly by searching google for "verizon note 2 aosp kernel" and HOLY ****E! This is the best kernel I have ever run on my phone by far!! This thread needs to come back to life and people need to get on this. I'm running this with carbon currently and am getting the best battery life I ever have using the muti-core mod app made by the dev along with the uneak engine control app. Don't be skurred...even though they don't SAY Verizon, these kernels run fine with Verizon, as long as you follow the links in the OP under N7105/T889/I317 LTE RELEASES:. These kernels were just updated on June 7, so they are FRESHHHH.
Seriously, give this a try. And make sure to use the apps linked to in the uNeak dev's OP.

There have been quite a few reports of people flashing N7105, T-Mobile, and AT&T kernels on the i605 with no issues. You cannot flash Sprint kernels because sprint writes /data on /dev/block/mmcblk0p17 instead of on /dev/block/mmcblk0p16.
So using a Sprint kernel would most likely bootloop you, it may not but from what I've read it most likely will, and I'm unsure if the N7100 is fair game or not, I have been looking through kernels lately and have found one on the N7100 that I am going to try later and see if it works of if it causes issues like I think it will.
That leaves us 3 other Note 2's kernels to play with though aside from our own!

Giving this kernel a bump because it's awesome. The audio tuning that can be done inside the uNeak app is unreal. Eargasm with bass frequency tuning checked is the best sound I've ever heard on a phone. Thank you to the dev who made this, and to the op of this thread for spreading the kernel around.

I'm the same way. Once I have an app installed and I play with it for a few minutes and will actually keep it, I have no issues with donating a few bucks to the Dev. After all, they did this on their own time and it keeps development going. I actually prefer apps that have a trial version rather than apps that force you to buy and then you only have 15 minutes to get a refund (Damn you Google Play Store Refund Policy). My poor bank statement is littered with App Store purchases of different Dev Apps. Spouse just looks at the statement and usually asks....what the hell is this and what is it for? I just lift my phone up and that's the end of the conversation.

I'll buy an app in two seconds - either bill it to Vzw account or Debit. Depends on my mood.
I've purchased about every xda dev app I've found. Lol. Use maybe one or two. Came in here to say that I am also a big fan of this kernel. Mixed with the app and you have a winner.

Tibu file(s) transfer

Good morning all youz. I am receiving my Gnote2 (verizon) today from swappa. OK, it is rooted and unlocked. It has Keen put back to stock but still rooted and unlocked. Couple of different things. I thought about taken Tibu files I have on my gnex save them on laptop and then transfer it to gnote. Is that 'correct thinking'?
Also, since it is on stock and I have been reading in all the forums about NOT taking the OTA. I am a crackflasher so I get that the roms have the ota in them. So what is the best rom 'in someones opinion's (winkwink)out there. I definitely need wifi wireless hotspot (not detected) so I can use my tablet anywhere.
Thanks.

From what I understand you can take the folders from Tibu and move them to a new phone, but I dont know if everything will work. Its always best to just download all the apps, from the Play Store or whatever other app stores you use, in my opinion. Some apps may not work and may cause issues on your rom, ultimately its your choice though. If you have problems you could go back to a nandroid and then download the apps from the app market.
As for good roms.... Well that depends on if you want to stay on TW, for the S-pen and various other features, or if you want AOSP.
If you want TW I would suggest CleanRom ACE or Beans, CR is always updated to the latest update with a crapload of features packed in and has an Aroma installer so you can choose exactly what apps and mods you want. Beans is a AOSP themed TW rom with a crapload of stuff packed in too and has a bunch of mods that you can flash after the rom. I prefer Scotts CleanRom ACE but it is really up to you as to whether you would have the AOSP theme or go with the way stock TW looks.
As for AOSP I would suggest Vanilla Rootbox or ParanoidAndroid. Those are my 2 favorites and the list of new stuff on them is huge so I am not going to type that out. The downside with AOSP is you lose the special S-pen features and the special apps like S-note. You can add the majority of S-pen features back to AOSP with an app name GMD Spen Control from the Play store, its a little pricey but is most definitely worth it because it even adds new S-pen features to TW.

Best Verizon Note 3 ROM out there....

☢ [ROM][4.4.2][NC2/NC4] *** Got bigginsROM? V5 ***[6/26/14] ☢ I have to say is the best ROM for a Rooted Verizon Note 3. I have tried all ROMs that are stable and form Battery Life to the Visuals, hands down BIGGINS know what he is doing. Keep up the great work and hope to see what's coming in the future. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733275 . In know way at all was I told or even contacted to post this. I just wanted to help anyone out there that was wondering what ROM to choose. Enjoy it as much as I do.
I agree Biggins rom being a top contender along with Baja's rom. Rite now i'm running Biggins V5 and patently waiting for Baja's and sbreen94 next build. I used Hyperdrive has a daily driver on my S3 and for a long while on my N3. All great developers. Much respect
I totally agree that Baja and Hyperdrive are great ROMs and developers. Many thanks to all their hard work. I had Hyperdrive as my daily driver for a while. As of now, I am loving Biggins V5. Im one of those who loves to change things up, so I am always changing my ROMs. Can't wait to see more to come from all these GREAT guys!!!

not generally a fan of these threads since i appreciate all the devs and the different stuff they create but since the rom isnt mentioned here and has been the most updated rom i have ever used on a locked bootloader device then i have to make sure that @hsbadr with his Jasmine rom gets listed.
he is also about to launch a FULL S5 port with the Note 3 specific features injected.
thanks to all the devs listed and not
I originally opened this thread to see what users had to say about a ROM. I put my opinion and read many others. Since the first thread was posted I have tried other ROMs that were mentioned here. Purpose was a success. THANKS Again to all the hard working developers that make these forums worthy and make our phones outstanding!!!
