Currently, not even from xda devs.
But in future, yes for sure....

This feature would be so awesome on S3! This is the only feature that makes me thinking about buying note 2 =P
I wonder 1gb ram is enough to perform muti screen smoothly?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

incredible feature, badly want it
sent from: designed for humans

not sure if can port this function the this SGS3 alpha....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJkb36L4G60

Note 2 on s3

Are there any developers out there that would be willing to make a galaxy note 2 Rom for s3 that has all the features and icons so pretty much looks like s3 before you turn it on and then when you turn it on its a note 2 if that make sence there are lots of people that would love this kind of Rom thanks
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Why would you want that?? All the important stuff has/is been/being ported....their is no need for a full rom as its virtually the same as ours....
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Because every time I try port the features they don't work
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
The features are in other roms in android development....like pop-up browser, the gallery etc....

Guys most of us know the rules we have here.. but is there a centralized 4.2 S3 thread in the first place instead of 99 decentralized post about 4.2?

I think the Galaxy Nexus is the answer to all these questions. Als long as Google supports it with the latest version, there is no problem with the S3. The S2 got 4.1.2 lately so I'm carefully optimistic.

IIRC, 4.2 is the last firmware the Galaxy Nexus will officially get. Though it will get many more android revisions unofficially. I'm sure of it. Just look at the Nexus S.

Need some help and recommendations

Hello all, I have finally decided to root my S3. I just have one question though, what app would be good to backup all my settings, pics, apps and everything else? Also what is a good Rom to use that's fast and based on jellybean?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
You can use titanium backup. As for the ROM it depends, some prefer stock with custom kernel others prefer asop ROMs. You should browse the forums and decide for yourself. Also next time search and only make a new thread if you can't really find an answer, the moderators may get mad at you.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
What's the difference between asop and stock with different kernel? I read some older topics and just go too confused.

read the OP. it explains the different naming schemes of various different ROMs. it also lists all the roms that fall into different categories of aosp, aokp, stock, and others.

actually jjegan is right. due to hardware differences, you need to check out the appropriate forum for your phone. you will turn your phone into an expensive paperweight if you flashed any roms or kernels in this forum.

is it possible to get a built in HDR feature on a Samsung Galaxy S II I9100??
what is the procedure to get that feature?
I think it is with an app but it won't work do good because of the big shatter lag in the sgs2

S3 becoming of old age?

hi all
I have had my S3 for just under a year and recently have been growing really frustrated of its performance. It feels slow at time (which is understandable) and it freezes and completely crashes on me randomly through out the day.
I have been running the _null rom for a very long time and find this an amazing experience. I have just today moved over to chaos final v2 rom and that seems just as smooth. I am still however having these crashes!
Any body know what it could be? I must admit my memory is virtually full externally and I have about a cool 3GB internally. This should not make a difference to the system crashes though!
All ideas and responses would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Please read "unusual freeze" thread in general.
This should be in q&a though.

Try factory reset and flash new rom using odin..
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I've factory reset my phone already and although it's smoother it shouldn't crash and require a restart! I initially upgraded to this phone so I didn't get these issues but it's getting ridiculous to be honest!

Its not relevant. If you're unfamiliar with the s3 specifically, fyi "generic advice" is not applicable here. Faults and quirks of the s3 are unique to this device so really only owners or developers of the s3 will be able to help through experience.
I know you mean well. I'm just giving some background in case you weren't aware

Great, so you'll be fully versed in the update 7 kernel source code for the S3 that introduced the MOVINAND fix to address the faulty wear levelling code in the 0xf1 VTU00M eMMC memory? And that the issues the OP has mentioned are conducive with the side effects that this fix has on the device?
