Does the Sony Smart Wireless Headset pro display only in Alphabet? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi!
Does the Sony Smart Wireless Headset pro display only in Alphabet?
I am wondering if it can display information in text messages, music etc in Japanese.
If anyone has one, and will let me send them a test text message, please pm me your number!

It does Japanese too. I think there is a patch or something to get it working though. But I'm positive it works because I was hunting the Japanese firmware for it and saw a thing about Japanese display on Sony Japan website.
Sent from hell using Xperia-S(atan)

Thanks for your reply, mrsatan !
I will look for it on the Japanese Sony website! I wonder why it needs a patch? The Xperia S and T etc have Chinese and Japanese built in...
If you see anything useful about the patch, can you post for me please?

No problem. I can understand some spoken japanese but I cant read it. I like having the fonts installed though so I dont have issues with the Japanese music I listen to.

Thanks!
My order is now in LEIPZIG - GERMANY! I hope to have it by Wednesday!

Hi!
All working now!
I think the device only plays MP3 & Wav playback via micro SD card!
So iTunes music is not playable?
I also need to check if folders with subfolders are OK.. For example, I have Utada Hikaru albums by name in the folder called Utada Hkaru..
More checking to do tomorrow!

Folders with subfolders should be fine. Only problem is it won't recognize more than 4gb on the card which is utter bull**** and something which sony needs to fix. Otherwise I like mine quite a lot. I have it paired with my Nexus 7 and Xperia S and it makes the sound much better for both. Sony has a media app which should convert the music. Not sure what itunes uses, i thought it used mp3 but I dont use it so I dont know.

Hi mrsatan,
I think iTunes uses MPEG-4 audio files. name.m4a but not too bother about that because I have paied with my Xperia T and Xperia Tablet S
The written information that came with the headset says up to a 32gb memory card can be used.
On your Xperia S do you use the apps - display or read the sms messages, emails, calendar events etc? On my Xperia T I do, and if I pull down the notification screen, I can access different apps, which I downloaded from the lay Store.
I have attached some screen shots.
On my Xperia Tablet S, I seem to be able to do all of those things too and have downloaded apps, but I cannot find the same menu's on the tablet that are on the Xperia T!
Guess I am missing something obvious!
I am enjoying the headset very much!

It says 32gb but it doesn't work with it yet. Hopefully Sony actually releases a firmware update to fix things. You need to download liveware manager on your tablet to get that menu.

Hi mrsatan!
I hope so too! Sony seems to be a bit slow with their updates!
I did download Livewire Manager, now called Smart Connect and the apps for GMail, Mail Calendar etc, but when I connect the headset, I do not see a small headset icon in the top right corner of the Tablet's screen. The Xperia T phone has this icon.
I will experiment more this afternoon!
Thanks!
EDIT... I re-paired the Xperia Tablet to the headset and the small icon appeared. Pressing the icon gave me the menus, so all sorted now!

Yeah it can be a bit finnicky. Especially if you use the sd card mode and then try to change songs on the phone.

Hi everyone!
My Windows 8 PC does not see my Sony Smart Headset Wireless Pro... I recently upgraded from Windows 7..
I have re-installed the firmware for the headset and tried connecting it with the usb cable with the headset switched off and also with the headset switched on..
I have also rebooted the PC..
I was hoping to transfer music using Sony PC Companion. I do know that I can just use a card read and transfer from the PC that way, but I get the feeling that PC Companion would convert my iTunes files to MP3's.
Any advice welcomed.

Sony Bridge for Mac.... slow or hangs?

So after buying the Xperia S was disappointed to learn that I just cant plug it into my PC and have it appear as another drive on my computer like all my other 5-6 android phones I have owned.
I had to download Sony Bridge for Mac so that I can copy files and synch my music... the only problem is I have been trying for about 8-10 hours to synch some music .. and it always seems to hang.. part way through.and then when I try to eject the phone it seems to have lost comms with the phone... Anyone got the same problem as me?

I had this issue as well... What I had to do was figure out the song it was hanging on and then eject the phone, uncheck the song that hangs and then start again. It would then sync from the point forward. There were two songs out of 442 that I had that hung. No idea why.
unfortunately I am trying to sync playlists so I cant identify which track it is hanging on.. but even with just a small playlist with 30 songs it still hangs.
It doesnt seem to hang when transferring photos or videos, but very disappointing I cant easily transfer my music.
The sync function doesn't seem to work properly. It always hangs. And if you try to sync playlist, you will realised that only 8 songs will eb copied over for each albums/playlist. After that it just hang endlessly.
Copying the files/songs manually via the phone browser works. But the browser is kinda retarded. And copying playlist manually doesn't add the playlist to your media player!!!
I did report the issue to Sony Mobile forum but i wasn't able to post any update since the reset password isn't working.
It will help if everyone report the problem to them directly as well >> http://talk.sonymobile.com/community/support/xperia_2012_family/xperia_s
Also had this problem when used with my Arc. It doesnt even recognize the phone. It says connecting then it hangs
Will try it later with my Xperia S

Do you have Mac right? Then download and install app iSyncr for Mac and then iSyncr WiFi after you need to install iSyncr server on your mac and after that you don't need any other apps or device managers to transfer or sync your musics or videos.
Those apps will works flawlessly and will sync all your musics and videos from your iTunes. Its so easy and works almost all android devices with mac.
Have the same problem here...
OS X 10.7, Early 2011 Macbook Pro
I plugged my Xperia S in, and tried to sync my old iPhone playlist. No luck, stuck at around 60%.
At first I thought it was because some of my songs in that playlist are AIFF, so I opened another playlist for Xperia S, convert everything in the iPhone playlist to MP3 and give it another go. Still no good. Stuck at around 20%, only about a hundred songs were copied when I have about 700.
Is there any good/free option that can just simply let me mount the phone into SD card mode or whatever and drag-and-drop files into the internal memory?
The transfer is really slow.. I tried transferring 2 playlists from itunes which each contains 100+ songs. It really tooked a while.. Maybe around 30 minutes.
Anyone knows hownto sync the calendar from a mac to the XPS? Google didnt seem to sync my calendar events from my Arc..
You can try this out if your are rooted

I'm sick of the Bridge for MAC! Hope they will bring in the Mass Storage Mode in ICS update..
I hear that Sony is going to be releasing V3 of Sony Bridge for Mac (on the Sony Mobile forum) but besides new features, I really hope they'll fix it to it detects the phone properly - and quickly.
I've got lots of phones, from an old X10 to X10 mini pro, arc, neo, active, live walkman and two Xperia S's (one review model, one my own). I've also got an Xperia U for a bit.
Now all of the old phones detect very quickly, but the Xperia S's and sometimes the U struggle... often timing out. I really can't figure out what's happening, nor why on one occasion it even thought the Xperia S was its Japanese counterpart (forget the model number) and also showed up as 'Sony Ericsson' rather than Sony!
I am beginning to think there's an issue with the phone, rather than the software (even though the SW seems very buggy with all the sync problems mentioned above, yet I'd love to get into a position to be able to have sync problems!).
Has anyone else got this problem on the Xperia S? How do you fix it. Believe me, I've tried every combination of unplugging the phone, force quitting the app, rebooting the Mac, rebooting the phone, swapping USB port, resetting the powered USB hub.... but most of the time it's just reconnecting over and over and it working, after maybe 60 seconds of trying to detect!
It's infuriating, especially as there's a specific Android app for Mac to manage files, but that doesn't work with the Xperia S even though it supports MTP! I too hope ICS might fix this.
On Lion with an Xperia P.
It syncs a few items from a playlist and then just sits there. It is a shame since the application actually looks quite good and has a lot of options unlike Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac.
Mine has also stopped checking for updates as it seems to think I have no internet connection.
I should have known that Sony are incapable for writing applications, this application works about as well as SonicStage.

[Q] Root x10 as music player

Hello,
I'm now using an other phone and I want to use my X10 as music player for in my car.
I only want a music player on my phone and nothing else. Is this possible?

Yes.
You'll still need the core operating system and it's dependencies.
You can probably delete approx 30-50 applications from within /system/app and free up a running environment of over 180MB of RAM
Even on a stock GB 2.3.3, I'd still root the device and use a modified Kernel like DoomKernel v6, just so you have the best the phone has to offer.
Off interest, the above configuration does allow for .mkv 720p (H264,AC3) movies to be played too.
The camera could make a good travel video recorder too. This way your friends don't laugh at you when you say you saw a man driving a sofa with a coffee table down the M25.
It has been reported that a Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10i will support a SanDisk 64GB MicroSD card reformatted to FAT32.
But like anything there have also been tears :crying: reported too.
I have a 32GB SanDisk card in mine and been running it that way for over a year.
If you store Google maps offline, you can use your phone as a Navigation system as well and it "shouldn't"[citation needed] need a SIM card in it or any WiFi/3G access.
I've run my X10i without a SIM card for months and it works fine using WiFi only.
The Sony Ericsson X10i natively support .wma files which is a bonus. Newer Sony phones don't, however the newer phones do support .flac natively.
I use Neutron Music player with .ogg and .flac files which are mostly streamed from my NAS.

What music player are you going to use?????
DonutHD ROM comes with a pretty good stripped down environment and generally quite stable.
If I remember correctly it has all the social media removed already with only about 96 system apps of which maybe only another 10 could be removed if your wanted to take it to the extreme. Such as gmail.apk, email.apk, gtalk.apk etc, etc.

[Q] android-to-android Remote access

So here's my bright idea (*note May not be an original idea)
I have a tablet I'd like to use as a back seat media player in my car. Kids are too young to operate. I would like to be able to sit in the passenger seat, pick up my phone, and select a movie to stream to the tablet. What app will do that?
I tried googling but all I can come up with are controlling your desktop or tv with your phone and controlling your phone from your desktop.
Can't you do such things with bluetooth?
I am not sure myself is the reason for the ?.

Spotify app?

What I would like to have is a nice Spotify app for the Gear Fit.
The media manager doesnt show which song is playing etc. It works for the songs played from the media player on the phone ofc but not as well with Spotify.
What i would like to be able to do:
Chose Playlist
Add songs to favourites / other playlists
See an icon with the artist like on spotify (maybe as background for the app/clock while music is playing?)
(Being able to search for music maybe isnt needed , it would be to bothersome, better pick up the phone)
Also i have a qustion about the built in memory in the Gear Fit , would it be possible to create an app which would make it possible to use the watch as a standalone medie device? like if youre going to work and dont want to bring your phone with you.
Ex: Download a spotify playlist and play it from the watch directly to bluetooth speakers or something
The real question would be how much memory the Gear Fit has , and if we can access it.
Best Regards / Christoffer
P.S If you are experienced in programming these apps, please be so kind a send me a mail , would like to learn how to make my own apps for this watch and maybe could be of help if needed Do have earlier programming experience, third year computer science engineer.

Displaying Xperia Z2 screen on windows PC

Hi,
I have an Xperia Z2 tablet and I need to do a presentation of some software on the tablet to an audience.
Is there a way I can display the tablet screen on a PC (Windows)??
I tried teamviewer but it's pretty slow.
Someone suggest Mobizen (from play store) - but it's only for Samsung.
Suggestions?
Cheers,
Ian.
Use a Chromecast? My PC monitors all have HDMI so it's the solution that works for me.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply, thats also what I'd decided.
Cheers,
Ian
