I cant get the app to load. Stuck on srartup screen

Odd
Supposed to turn the pages when you slide your finger over the screen but of course you already tried that.
Well, I wonder why it's stuck.

Writing app with scrivener-like note organisation

Hi,
This is something that has been on my wish list for the galaxy note 10.1 (and now the 2014 edition) for a long, long time, as an avid note-taker and professional writer. Does anyone know of a writing/note taking app, as basic or fully featured as you like, that has the organisational ability to have notebooks with multiple notes inside AND the possibility of viewing these notes in a list on one side of the screen, while you edit a note of your choice in the main part of the screen? Basically, so you can set individual notes up as sections or chapters, change their order at will, and jump between them easily? This is one of the key features of the scrivener software I use on my laptop, and I wish I could replicate on my note 10.1.
Many thanks,
Andii

Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but have you looked at JotterPad X:Writer, it's a nice clean editor that works well on the Note 10.1. It's primarily used for producing clean markdown for web publishing and works well for saving text as blocks.

[Q] Any Must-Have Apps?

My unit should be coming today, so II made a list of apps I could download?
Are these any good?
Missing anything?
1. My Script Stylus (Beta)
2. Photoshop Touch
3. Push Bullet
4. Papyrus
5. Commandr
6. Mobdro (not in Google play)
7. All in One Toolbox
8. Google Inbox
9. Last Pass
Are you interested in the hidden secret codes? If so, install this app: Phone INFO ★Samsung★
Open app > Menu > 'Secret Codes'. That will list ALL secret codes available in your phone.

The MyScript Stylus not is necessary because when you use the pen in textbox opens one option to you use it!
I prefer the "MyScript Smart Note" have more options with the pen.
: Bom:
The others app I don't know of. I Go test them.
I always think "this time I will use S Note becuase it's so nice" but end up using LectureNotes for writing - it is my must have app number one for all Note devices. Although for Note 4 it requires a bit of configuration (for example thicker pens are a must for such resolution), thankfully it's easy to do.
For me is the optical reader app from note 2 the nr.1 app of the must have's!!
I tried the port for Note 3 and it works perfectly

There are a lot of features missing in this version. I wish, a developer ports the S4 optical reader app for our Note 4. It is one of the most versatile apps, in my opinion.
I just got my GN4, I previously had the HTC One M7. I was using Lockdown Pro to secure my contacts, messaging settings, etc... But I discovered a new app, Fingersecurity by Rick Cephas. It uses the GN4'S fingerprint scanner to secure your selected apps (pin code is optional as well). It's available free in the Playstore. I give it 5 stars!

I second this! I hate the finger print lock for the homescreen as I usually fail at least 3 times to get a good read and that makes opening it while driving or multitasking horrendous. With this app, I am able to lock my private photos through finger print and nothing else. You basically download this app and then tell it which apps on the phone will require a finger print scan to be activated.

[Q] Things missing from Android

I love android. I am a Nexus 6 & 9 user and in the past I was a Galaxy Note user. No matter how great and better (to my opinion) android is in comparison with other mobile OS, there are some things that are missing and seem so crazy to be missing.
Of course me and you all (maybe the 5% of all android users ??) we can play with custom roms, mods and etc, but all the other users, especially the Nexus line users, find these things missing.
1) there is no stock file browser
2) there is no battery percentage on the home screen, without the need to swipe down
3) there is no Wi-Fi direct !!!! There is an option in Wi-Fi advanced options, but whenever I tried it with my Nexus 9 & 6, there was no success
4) there is no clear all in the multitasking menu, and before 5.X.X, with a reboot of the device the background process would clear, now they won't close until you close them. Imagine having to swipe 30-40 times to clear everything.
5) In the era of phablets, there is no split-screen!! 6 inch Nexus 6, and 9 inch Nexus 9 have no split screen to take advantage of these features.
Is Google ever planning to implement these features? Especially 1-4 seem to be EXTREMELY simple in an implementation level.
**As I already mentioned, I can find solutions for most of these problems (if not all), but I am wondering if Google is ever gonna bring these things by default to all Nexus users, so non experienced users will enjoy them as well**
The Nexus line was meant for developers from day one. Not the common users. Google isn't changing that policy.
It's why Samsung is the largest brand.Every single thing you mentioned comes as a default feature on their high-end devices. In fact, multiwindow was their invention. The NotePro 12.2" even supports 4 windows simultaneously.
And you've not seen Mutlitasking until you've tried Penwindow. (depending on which Note you had you may or may not already have.)

I tried out Note 1,2 & 3, and yes you are right. All those things are already in Samsung devices. Even more, they have something even stronger than WiFi direct, that uses mobile data if necessary to increase the speed (if needed). I agree that nexus is meant to be used by developers, but Google changed that character from the Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 4, by advertising and promoting it through low prices in general public. I remember that I had a hard time to find Galaxy Nexus 32GB in my country and I went to Galaxy Note N7000, but after the 3d Nexus phone (Galaxy Nexus), nexus phones (and tablets) went balistic on line with many many people wanting to buy them.
Btw, I did not know that on pro 12.2 you can have 4 windows! wow! that is true multitasking indeed !
Thank you for your answer mate

Just to comment on multitasking/recent apps, there isn't a need to clear all as Android has significantly improved how this is handled. Only a small part of the tabs you see in lollipop recent are actually running. Android will automatically close apps to keep the appropriate amount of free RAM available. By "closing all", you are actually causing a longer start time when you reopen the app and causing apps that auto run to restart. Thus causing more battery drain and system resource consumption.

Thanks for that, how stupid of me, all these years I was fanatic about closing all apps as soon as I was done with an app. But in the long run yes you are right, it does actually consume more resources this way.

Write on pdf

I have very mixed feelings about this tablet. On one hand, it is an upgrade with number of nice features, on the other there are really strange solution or inwould say abcense.
Having the s pen and not providing full specter of functions like previous models had, it is strange for me.
My actual question is how do you guys sign your pdf files? I used to sign all my documents with my note 5 with the software Write on pdf ( samsung software ). I have the same software on tab s3, however my signatures are veasible only when open in that specific app, not in any other pdf viewer. Moreover, in google playstore it says that tab s3 is not supported by this software. This is very important for me, cause i am signing many documents on the go and was expecting to continue doing so.
Looking forward for your suggestions.

Why not use adobe fill and sign app from play store . I don't use my tab to sign but i tested this app out i am able to see the signature on my PC too. The Spen seems to be working with app so give it a shot.
Squid app (paid but has trial) has write on pdf function.
I use personally "Xodo pdf reader and editor" for writing in pdfs. Even on a Tab2 without a digitizer built in it works very well.

Long awaited ECG feature for Active 2 watch has finally arrived today but it doesn't work w/Pixel 4a: ***"Samsung Health Monitor App and ECG Feature are available only on Galaxy Watch3 and Galaxy Watch Active2 when paired with Samsung Galaxy phones with Android N or above" - and that sucks, have to move the watch back to N10+. Though everything else, beside the ecg, like pay, heart rate and activity monitors work well w/Pixel.
10/07/20 Update
there is workaround to make it work with non-Samsung phones. Credits: XDA Member xxstd
