Network Lock - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Question : I am not sure were to find the answer. So for some reason my s2 became network lock . The last thing i did before it now ask for "SIM network unlock PIN" is a nandroid back using v12.6 with siyah s2 4.1.5kernel without any problem. I have been using wanam prior versions without a single problem. This s2 is purchase through samsung retail store here in Philippines so it is unlock to any network when it was purchase about 9 months ago, there are only 3 networks here and i have tried 2major network provider sim cards out of the 3 and both sim the s2 is asking for SIM network unlock PIN , i have been using the same sim card since the first day of purchase of this s2. I have tried a different ROM, currently on faryaab SuperNexus build 4( did a full wipe) and still asking for SIM network unlock PIN. So i don't even know what network is it lock to. Can any body help, any information is much appreciated

I think you may have to use all these Galaxy S2 unlock apps to solve that. Please back up your /efs partition if you haven't before attempting to unlock your phone.

[Q] Do I have a "UNLOCKABLE" phone???????

Hi
I have a week old SGS II I9100 locked to Claro Puerto Rico. I've been trying to sim unlock it to use it with a T-Mobile sim card. I have use the Galaxy S unlock app,GSII_REPAIRapp(wich wiped my efs file, have to use kTool to recover it),the Odia method, Galaxy S2 SIM unlock app...NO LUCK!!!!
After using the GalaxyS unlock app I checked the lock status (*#7465625#) & its says the network lock is off. However when I put the Tmo sim its says Network lock & it doesn't even give me an option for a unlock code
Do I have a "UNLOCKABLE" phone???????
If I remember correctly, all of them apps say they will not unlock newer phones. Given yours is a week old, I'd suggest it is an un-unlockable phone. Although someone may prove me wrong.

Ask network/phone provider to unlock .

[Q] Galaxy S2 don't read my Bell sim card

Good day,
I have an unlock Samsung galaxy s2 on Android 4.1.2,
It's originally from Rogers, but I've been using it with my Bell sim card for a few months.
This morning after a night charge, my phone wasn't able to read my bell sim card anymore...
I reboot a undred times (almost), Flash the ROM, did it again this time wiping all data on my phone, but nothing changed...
There is no APN option, when I go to Access point names, in mobile network settings, I tried a few times to enter the Bell APN setting, but each time I would press on save, it would not save, only disapear.
Finally I tried a Rogers sim card...and its finally working ( with a choice a 4 different APN).
So what do you think? could it be that my Bell sim card stop working during the night?
Or could it be that my phone isn't unlock anymore...
Thanks for your help!!!

[Q] SIM-PIN

Hey,
I've got a problem with my Galaxy S II and I hope some of you can help me. One day i flashed a wrong modem via CWM and I couldn't connect to the internet. So I decided to go back to stock and restore everything via CWM. I flashed a 3 part stock firmware and updated it to ICS. Then I flashed CWM and restored everything, but from now on my phone ask me several times a day for my SIM-PIN. I tried different roms, but on every rom my phone ask me for the PIN, again and again. Now I'm on ICS stock and everything works fine. Can anybody help me or is there anybody with the same issue?
Best regards
Hesoy
SIM pin is your SIM card pin code. Whenever you get a SIM card it comes with 2 codes: SIM PIN Code & SIM PUK Code.
Check the carrier SIM package and should get them both.
If you threw it all away contact you carrier and ask for the PUK Code.

Hey,
thanks for your answer. I know my SIM code and it works, but the problem is the SIM PIN request. When i start my phone I enter my code, but the phone ask me again and again for my pin, when it is on the table or in my pocket for example. Without a restart or something like that.
Sorry for my bad english.
Best regards
Hesoy
go to sim kit and set it to "don't ask for pin".

Try flashing your modem again from here, they include the RILS and could help. Although it would help it you gave more info about your ROM.

[Q] Network unlocking galaxy SC-02C

I have Galaxy S2 phone bought from Japan and it was network unlocked by the carrier NTT Docomo.
I had been using it successfully in India with a local SIM card.
When it had the 2.3.6 GB version, it was working on roaming, but after upgrading to 4.0.3 ICS, on trying roaming facility, it has started giving network unlock error message.
Initially I thought it was a security message and tried the configured combinations. Unfortunately, after 3 attempts, it has got locked and not detecting any SIM nor asking for the network unlock code now.
Any possible solutions to handle this?
If rooting the phone and running the unlock software is the only solution then, which kernel to use for this?
Please do advise.
Thanks,
Bhakti

[Q] S3 I9300 (International) NETWORK UNLOCK PROBLEM

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 locked to T-Mobile on Android 4.3 (baseband: I9300XXUGNA8) meaning it has changed the EFS parition to v2. The phone has been rooted as well. Is there any solution to remove the SIM lock? I have tried reflashing with older versions but the systems wouldn't boot up. I read that it can brick my phone completely. I tried using Vooodo unlocker and GalaxSim but error comes up, undefined. I tried EVERY SINGLE METHOD by using the codes: *#7465625# or *#197328640# but I either get Not registered on network message or some other error. In case of #0011# I can't pass the step 4 (when you type in 1 and the service should appear). The IMEI is fine, everything is fine as long as I'm on T-Mobile sim card (the signal works perfectly). I put any other foreign SIM and it doesn't ask me for the unlock code. Do you know what's the reason? I have bought an unlock code but I can't even use because any other method wouldn't work. Is there anything at all I could do? I'd really appreciate your help.

Try to flash an unbranded version, like this here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=28378
And than try it again with your code.

This particular firmware fails to flash it through Odin. I assume it's designated for GT-I9305, not I9300 ... I have tried the unbranded versions for my model anyway and I usually end up in the bootloop. Any other solution? Thx
Factory reset after Odin flash.
