I can't see any AP37 Tegra 3 on wiki also, if you check the specc for One X, it uses AP33 - so the WIKI is actualy wrong
also T30 (tegra3) can use lpddr2 or lddr3 as I can see on the specc (wiki). But right now I am curious why it says taht One X uses T30 (wiki source) but HTC specc says it uses AP33? hmmm

Interesting.
I have so many questions!
What does "plastic paint" / "leather paint" mean? I'm guessing it's referring to the finish/feel of the polycarbonate?
What dos the copper foil thing mean?
And the rear camera sensor is different? You'd think HTC would advertise that...
And finally, what is the source for those specs/that image?

About the paint - the leather paint feels more solid/rubber like. The copper foil is copper foil between inner chasis (between LCD and motherboard) for cooling the CPU (it takes away the heat from CPU) - HTC One X only has one Copper foil at the back cover (between mother board and plastic back cover).. so HTC One X+ will have one copper foil more (more heat to dispatch)
Copper foil looks similar to this
the cam sensor is the same quality, only different manufacturer. The same case as with HTC Desire HD - it has both 8MP sensor, one from Samsung and one from OmniVision. HTC One X has Samsung sensor, HTC One X+ has OmniVision sensor.
Source: HTC itself. Email to all repair centres from *iwillnotmakethispublic=)*@htc.com
as you can see there are internal codes for different parts of phone, 35H00197-00M for instance being the new code for 2040mah battery in One X+

this one x isn't the one we have here in canada. In canada, it's not an nvidia chip, it's a dual A15. It also only have 16gb and lte

This is one of the question I had in mind. Other than that would be the CPU and storage. Hopefully someone open their One X+ right away after they get it.

The internal storage of the one x+ is 64GB's. And is it coming with a sd-card slot as well? Read some rumors but can't find the source of it..

I've seen quite a few videos of HOX+ on youtube and so far none say it has a micro sd card slot.

Its not coming with expandable storage.

[Q] HTC Evo 3D II "Magnificent" Wish list

I was looking at some upcoming models from HTC like the Vigor with a 720p display(!) and a few others when I thought, what would you like to see in the next 'evolution' of the Shooter?
Here's what I came up with
HTC 'Magnificent'
Qualcomm S3 or S4 SoC
4gb RAM
16gb of actual onboard storage
NFC
2000+ mAh battery
4.5" 720p IPS display (Hitachi with the lenticular barrier?)
Smaller bezel!
Much smaller or 'invisible' earpiece

2 - 3.2mp front facing cam for face recognition
1080p 3D video
Android 2.4.x with the cool software buttons instead of hardware or softkeys

Shhh, don't tell anyone!
And if you're looking for more juice, Stinger has made an extended battery for this phone. It's 72,000 mAh, so now you can go weeks without charging your phone! No extended battery door needed!
But to keep this battery alive, you'll need the Black & Decker VEC1093DBD Battery Charger.
Seriously, who remembers the days of the bag phones? They didn't even come with Snake!
My first cell was like this but black in color. I was 17 years old, had 2 beepers and this! Yes I needed all that, at the time lets just say my activities were not that of the law
My how things have changed!!!
I miss the days we all used walkie talkies and cb radios.
lol, for what?!

Hell yeah the 90's was so great for cell phones, there was no SIM, no GSM here in America ... before CDMA (B Carrier) and TDMA (A Carrier) it was Analog and people could here everything that was going on with a good 800Mhz scanner ... cloning was so easy ... No A key or nothing ... $300 for 360 minutes from AT&T .. wow have things come far in the past 15 years...
I would like to see the future with an intergrated communications chip linked directly to us... just say to yourself .. dial whomever and they ring their chip .. LOL ... soon enough

Hmm, while we're at it...
Qualcomm Snapdragon 2.5 GHz Krait quad core processor
16 GB RAM
1 TB internal storage
NFC
Push to Talk
Nokia's Infinite Cellphone Battery (whenever that rolls out)
5.5" 1080p NOVA display (from LG Optimus Black)
No Bezel
Two 80 MP cameras on the back (see Leaf Aptus-II 12)
15 MP front camera with retina scan to unlock phone
2160p 3D video
Android Ice Cream Sandwich
Waterproof
Built in projector
RJ-45 jack for wired networking
Ubuntu Linux built in to turn the phone into a computer (like the Atrix 4G)
And what else?
Built in toaster so you can say "It does everything AND make toast!"
But seriously, it's like our phones are turning into computers. What happened to it just being a phone? I don't want more features necessarily. I want better coverage and better signals first. I'd like to see Sprint roll out with more towers with faster data rates. And what gets me is that I heard from a Sprint rep that they're switching to LTE and ditching WiMax. I'm kinda bummed, but he did say that the EVO 3D will be able to pick up LTE (I'm guessing over a OTA update, but then again I'm not sure if the phone will be able to pick up LTE).

Will be interesting to see if the hard cases fit as well, if they have shaved a few mm's off here & there.

It's got only one problem. They should use the same red accent as the HOX+ instead of that purple color. But it looks nice!

Does anoyone have this case? I am pretty pleased by it, it looks ok. It is a little grip free, and has a little problem.
I can't take it off when i try to clip it off from the bottom side, the upper front is imposibble, the display is getting out of the cover.
Any solutions, ideas?

Well, I'm about to find out. I should be getting my International One X+ soon and I'm going to try it in my US Otterbox Defender case. The camera and flash holes are a bit off on my International One X, but nothing that affects the performance of them. If it annoys me too much I may order a UK Otterbox case for the new phone, but I'll take things one step at a time.

I get that for my One X+
On ebay search : BLACK PERFORATED MESH PROTECTIVE HARD BACK CASE COVER FOR HTC ONE X
A real pleasure to take him (the perforation create a good grip sensation).
Badr_75.
I prefer not to have a case mounted on my beautiful new devices, so I always use a pouch.
This one from Krusell works well, the top of the phone does not stick out like it does in the picture,
although after a month of use with my OneX the front top lip does bend down a bit just from use.
Nothing serious, just not straight up like it was when new.
Still having a hard time finding a one x+ specific case. Anyone seen anything from otter box yet
Picked this up from my local Best Buy:
I don't use the 'holster' part that often, but good for putting it on the sun visor in the car. Plus both have this soft velour type material to pad the back of the phone (also one on the holster part, so you don't scratch the screen with it on).
Works for me.

Nice! How's the volume rockers with the case on? Any easier to access? My volume increase rocker is fine but for some reason my lower volume rocker seems in more and literally have to use my finger nail to press it! Very annoying to say the least. Does this case make the lower volume rocker easier to press or did u not have an issue with the lower volume rocker to begin with? Maybe it's just my device and the current case I have on it? Thanks

[EVITAREUL/AT&T One X+] Display quality

Anyone that snagged a One X+ on AT&T able to comment on the display quality? Especially in comparison to the AT&T One X/HTC One XL, I'm trying to ascertain whether there is actually a degradation in display quality when compared against the older model.
I got one today and comparing in-store to the One X had no noticeable difference between them. This is of course just eyeballing it, but I pulled up some high rez sample images to compare.

Any noticeable difference in max brightness? Do the colors seem a little less vibrant than the One X?
I'm really concerned in light of recent reviews saying that the HTC 8X and One X+ don't have as good a display as the One X.
I don't know about the One X+ that is sold by AT&T, but about the one i bought in the Netherlands, i can't see any difference between my wife's One X and my One X+. Both screens are great, good color saturation, very vibrant and no problem when on max brightness. Also no issues with yellow spots or whatsoever. Just a very nice upgrade for my previous One X
Don't worry
If you observe the og one x forums you would know that the og one x had 3 screen types, sony for at&t and sharp and acer for the international. The acer screen was almost twice as bright as the others, this would probably be the one that people are comparing the one x+ to. So practically the one x+ screen is on par with two of the one x screens but not the acer.
@ siroj: And which type of screen is your HTC One X? I don't think it's an Acer!
How to check out which type of screen you have for the HTC One X+:
• Download: ES File Explorer File Manager @ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=nl
• Go to settings, root-settings, and set a mark at 'up to root'
• Start your One X+ TWO TIMES after eachother
• Open ES File Explorer
• Go up and up and up and up till you are in '/'
• Press the searchbutton and search for 'last_kmsg'
• Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait....
• Open this file in a text editor (on your phone or email it to yourself and open it on your computer)
• Search for 'panel_id' and / or 'panel_vendor'
• Check out the code and place it in this thread...
I've got an Acer, my mother in law had got a Sharp screen of the One X!

If I compare my Acer screen in the One X next to my One X+ screen I can clearly see that the One X+ screen is more blueish / grayish.
Less vibrant and less white. I think you have got a Sharp screen in you're One X, a little bit like the One X+ screen you're wife has got

Hey CLB-NL, if its not too much to ask, can you make and post hi res pictures on the 3 one x phones together thanx. it seems the one x+ screen is a lot darker than the two...which to me is not entirely a bad thing as i find the middle one x way too saturated and bright even at the lowest setting that it would make night time use irritating for the eyes

Please post a review of it when you get it. I went and looked at those cases and they look really nice, especially for the price.
I will, I am on the west coast too, so I will also post how long the shipping took.

Battery is non removeable. You won't find an extended battery. Maybe try an external pack?

For those that might be interested, Seidio informed me today that their DNA case will provide a hole for the back LED.
Here are the delayed pictures of the White Nikkin Ebay case for the DNA....
My quick review: it is very slim, textured back finish, matte touch finish on the smooth sides and front. It allows the phone to be put face down without touching the the screen but not by much. Not very much protection on the top and bottom of the phone itself, though. reminds me a lot of the ringke slim case for the Galaxy Nexus with less top and bottom end protection, but not quite as slim. For the money, i'd rate it a pretty decent buy. I originally had a verizon holster case, and i have the Diztronic here and an Otterbox Commuter coming for when I go snowboarding.
Mike
Thanks for the awesome pics. Love how slim it is, but I'm not sure about the lack of protection at the top and bottom
I also go snowboarding. Let me know how you like the Commuter.
Thanks for the review. I ordered the brown one but still haven't received it yet. Judging from your pictures though, it looks like it will suit me just fine.

HTC DNA vs HTC J BUTTERFLY (PICS INSIDE)

Hi guys, ok so now i have both phones, and i have provided some pictures bellow. I will soon take the butterfly apart and reveal the inside and answer some long awaited questions, but based off initial views i can almost promise none of us would be able to add SD card support from the j butterfly to the DNA. The reason i say this is because the J butterfly is about a mm or so longer in length than the DNA is, (i guess to support the infrared and sd card reader) but ya installing the sd card reader from the butterfly to dna would prove undoable since the back cover from J butterfly would not fit on the DNA.
Note: Verizon did a much better job detail wise on the DNA than the HTC J Butterfly is done but AU. The grill where ear speaker is, is not red like the DNA its just black and plain, the back HTC logo is not embossed and is only just printed small, gloss feel on the J butterfly is not bad, but i prefer the DNA's soft touch feel, and although the DNA looks thinner, it sits a little more raised on its back than the butterfly is. Ok here are some pics. I will do a video on it later.

neat! i hate that glossy back lol
and wow you can actually see how the JB is thicker from that top view!
Lol ya, a lot of people would say the dna was a downgraded j butterfly, but aside from the sd card, i honestly think the dna is a more well built, better feeling, more sturdy phone. The j butterfly feels too plasticy and doesnt have the small details like the red grill for the earpiece or the bolder htc logo to make the phone stand out more.
The Butterfly's noticably thicker. It'll be interesting to see what the diffrences are between the internals.

The differences look to be pretty slender. Here is a comparison of all 4 variants of the Butterfly: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2081771

You might want to think twice depending on where you live and where you're going to use it. It's not a global phone. It supports quad-band GSM for voice but only 850/2100 MHz for HSPA which makes it incompatible in some regions.

I got it from someone i know in japan, but ya i tried my verizon sim doesnt work in it, going to try att sim later on today see what happens. Also yea that headphone jack area gives the thickness away quit well haha
Gotta say the front looks a lot cleaner without that Verizon logo though!

I dunno, i think it looks to plain without it, just blank lol. Dunno my opinion i guess
whats the actual thickness of the two phones. The J Butterfly may LOOK thicker, but it may just be how the top of the phone is shapped due to whatever the hell that slot is for(SD/Sim idk). As you can tell on your DNA, the edges are quite round as it gets to the edge of the phone to make it appear its more slim than it actually is. Besides, were talking about like .5mm, which is rather insignificant.
Glad you could get one!

It's actually interesting. The DNA's the "thickest" of the three. All the stats are from HTC websites.
DNA: 141 x 70.5 x 9.73 mm, 140g
J-Butterfly: 143 x 71 x 9.2 mm, 140g
Butterfly: 143 x 70.5 x 9.08 mm, 140g

figures, that curved edge is all just a trick to make the phone appear more thin, but I think it may also help with holding the phone too.
yup dna is actually thicker, when u put them side by side, the dna sits higher thus the center of the phone is thicker.

There is a 4th variant (Chinese version of Butterfly, x920e) although it has the same dimensions as the Taiwan version just a little lighter due to lack of micro sd.
X920e: 143 x 70.5 x 9.08 mm, 138g

So there is basically 3 versions of the same phone? I think the Butterfly is coming to AU - so any android development for the DNA is usable on the Butterfly?
