Transparent MultiWindow v1.2 (Updated fixed landscape) - Galaxy Note II Themes and Apps

I like the new MultiWindow functionality but it seems to get in the way.
I developed the the following modification for it:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

Attached is a VRTheme that will update your MultiWindow tab to be transparent like in the screenshot.
I have also attached a revert in case you don't like the outcome.
I have tested it on Omega v4.
Flash at your own risk not responsible for bricks etc blah blah blah.....
If you like this mod hit "Thanks"!
v1.2 - Fixed Landscape
v1.1 - Updated the script to say SGN2 and changed the edit panel to transparent.
v1 - Made the MultiWindow tab transparent.

Perfect.

Just for your information, it will work on odexed ROMs also.

damn so much good mods by now, damn 8 "thanks" limit xD
btw if i have odexed but without cwm, can i move by root explorer that app folder and overwrite?

No, it isn't an apk, it is a VRTheme, it only replaces the images inside the apk, that is why it works on both deodexed and odexed.

ok, thanks, going to try

Would be nice if you would update the updater-script so it didn't say it was for the s3
Edit: might just be me but it seems to have made expandable notifications go a bit funny.

It definitely works on odexed as I flashed it but reverted back as I didn't like the semi transparent bar with the non transparent edit panel next to it. It looked weird to me.
But I am sure lots of people will like it.
I'll make one with a semi transparent edit panel sometime if no one else does it first.

Shouldn't touch the notifications at all as it only updates images in the FlashBarService.apk

I made the edit window transparent. Let me know if it should be a little darker or not?

Thanks seems fine to me, some might want it a tiny bit darker though as the app titles are not always too easy to read.

It works awesome on odex
But unfortunately i did not notice any new app in the bar such as whatsapp ..
So is this of the odex rom or there is something i have to do

[Theme] ICS Theme S8, UnNamed, Cog X2 Updated 11/7/11

Update 11/7/2011
Reworked the contacts to look a little more black, small changes though. Also reworked the stock clock to be more a little more ICS.
Here is a theme I've been putting together for Serendipity 8.1 over the last few weeks based on ICS from the system dump.
The theme will work with S8, UnNamed and Cog X2 at this point in time.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I've modded the keyboard, most of the usual system apps like mms, contacts, phone etc and modded the stock lockscreen to have the same clock font as ICS... and more
The only problem is that I cannot for the life of me get the notification text color to change to white. So if you can fix then post up the files and I'll add it in.
I don't plan on porting it to other roms or updating it often as pharmacy school has been pretty cumbersome lately.
Usual stuff:
You flash at your own risk, if it breaks your phone it isn't my fault.
I highly recommend you back-up any files so you can revert if you please.
If I missed anything, I can't think of it now...
Thanks to:
ssconceptz for the files for the dialer!
tysj for the cleaner looking signal icons

It should work, there isn't much difference between the two roms but I can't guarantee it.
Looks a lot more complete than what I was working on! One thing I did notice is that the signal icon seems to be a bit larger than the rest of the system icons and a tad bit blurry. The icons I was working with seemed to be a bit smaller to match the height of the other icons. I'll attach the SystemUI.apk I was using in case you wanted to compare those icons
Thanks for theme!
i think there's a new Serendipity version coming any day now, so i'll switch back and try it out then. i don't like the stock green on most of these. i don't get why Google doesn't include color choices.

It shouldn't. That is what I did when I ported a white theme (FROST) over from Nexus S to Captivate...... I had to make the text black. So I'm not sure whats going wrong there.
All you're changing is text colors.
I love this theme except for the ugly blue/yellow bubbles on a black background for the messaging app. Is there a way I can revert to the stock messaging theme while keeping everything else?
works perfect on Cog X2... thanks

Yeah, I've gotten this complaint from someone else as well.
I forgot to mention to delete:
systemUI.odex
downloadprovider.odex
downloadproviderUi.odex
then reboot to recovery and clear dalvik and cache, reboot - and that should fix it.
Thanks Andy. I had already shut down when I saw your post and after I restarted, the bar was back with the transparency. Didn't have to delete the files .Thanks again!

it will f/c every time you do transparency or do recent apps, a reboot will always fix it, i still suggest deleting those .odexs.
Hi!
I'm new here, and I've recently rooted my HTC sensation. I'm loving some of the mods that are out there. I'm just curious as to whether this mod will work with the sense 3.5 and GB 2.3.4?
I had a look at the UOT Kitchen and I think I'd like to have a mess around with that too, see what i can come up with. But for now, how do i edit the framework-res.apk to remove the battery (I have my own sense theme with %)? I'm still a n00b at all this and i don't wanna brick my expensive phone.
Thanks for any guidance!
I keep getting some black on black text, like when I'm downloading or using Google music, idk if that's out of your control or not,but I was wondering if there was a stock notification bar anywhere ? Or would I have to reflash the rom ? other than the black text sometimes all is swell with this mod
needs updates to 1.2. as far as the black text on black problem,it's because those apps were set with black text with developers assumption that everyone had a white background
Werd, I updated and all is swell.
Will these work with v1.2?
Edit- doesn't work with 1.2. I got a status bar fc and no status bar. Thankfully I did a nandroid. An update for compatability with 1.2 would be awesome. Pumped on all the support the rez is getting. much better than the d2g. Thanks for all the hard work.

Unreal! You are the Man! Thanks, now I can update to 1.3!!
I was afraid to try the UOT kitchen because for most PNG's it won't support higher than 960x540, and I was nervous of it making some systemui.apk and framework-res changes that I didn't want! It works for Rezound in some instances, it must be, I take it?
Also, Pardon my ignorance, sir (as I cannot figure it out by searching, it seems),
but what is the MMS Fix, exactly?

Wow! That is one cool Theme!!!
The devs really need to work on MIUI based roms...since MIUI usually has a large font size, it looks more readable and also a million times cooler than the usual pixellated text..
I used to have an MIUI launcher+ theme on kyrillos v7...was an awesome combo...but then later version of kyrillos stopped supporting it

I had it working almost. The statusbar was done. The only thing I didn t like was that in the status bar, if we have 2 notifications, it shows only one. So one has to open the notification drawer to check the total notifications. That s the original feature itself of this.
I did not work on the center titles of notification drawer will try more in 2 days.
Another thing, the text of the notification overlaps with the center clock. As it does not dissappear like the normal clock on the right side. But it still looks good.
the bottom toggles is the main thing I didn't even noticed the centered stuff there. First of all it looks DAMN good, i love that in MIUI, and it's comfortable, because i use the middle button for opening statusbar. Can u include the centered clock, and the transpareny and other miui-ish stuff in it?
For the bottom toggles you probably just have to play around with some XML values so it shouldn't be too hard to port for a pro like Dhiren

i think super status bar app in google paly can give us more customiztions than this mod
not in a discouraging mode...

SystemUi Clock Mod + 1% Battery

Ok....here are some some additional mods to the systemui. They include the mods Nottach already implemented along with the centering of the clock and I made it a little smaller then the original. Also I have included 3 additional ui's that have either 100%, 75%, 50% transparency on the statusbar. Please remember to copy your original systemui.apk and odex file to a .bak as a way to return back to the original system files and remember to change your permissions on the new systemui....
Remember MOD at your own risk...If you follow the directions given in all the other posts you will not have any issues...
All of these files have the centered clock..
I fixed the transparency on the 50 percent which was actually set to 100 on the circle battery mods...
100 Percent Status Bar
75 Percent Status Bar
50 Percent Status Bar
Centered Clock Only
All percents with Regular size clock
Small Centered Clock and Circle Battery All Transparency
Big Centered Clock and Circle Battery All Transparency
Please remember that these are not flashable....just a regular zip file of the apk..
Thanks to KryptosXLayer2 for his xxhdpi battery..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41154701

1) will this work on tmobile gs4
2) what icon theme are you using
100% Transparent works great on my device. i'm using your mod on the OTA'd version of the ATT GS4.
Great work. One thing I noticed is that with the 100% transparency file I still see the outline of the notification bar on my home screens. It looks like how I would think 75% may look.
Anyway, great work none the less. Was just curious if anyone else had it the same?
Edit: Works flawlessly on the lock screen

Can someone explain how to replace the SystemUI file? This is my first Android phone and I'm still trying to get a handle on all the modding. Been an iPhone user since the original and I have to admit, there is a bit of a learning curve.
Thanks.

1. You'll need a file manager that will give you access to the device's system/app folder.
2. Once you have access, rename the current SystemUI.apk to something like SystemUI.bak.
3. To inject your replacement SystemUI.apk, use adb.exe and enter the following command: adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app. I do this via my PC while using a USB connection.
I understand you may or may not have some "pieces." Post your needs and we'll proceed from there.

As usual, I am not responsible for any damage or problems you may have. I recommend a full nand backup before flashing any mods.
Due to the nature of custom roms there is no way for me to know what has and hasn't been customized. This and all of my other mods should only be flashed after doing a backup in case things don't work the way it's expected.
These mods have been tested on several roms before posted but that is no guarantee that they will work on every rom out there.

Installing this on hyperdrive rls6 enabled all my apps by default and crashes when I attempt to disable apps. Any advice?
Kind of irritating having 156 apps in the bar.
Hmmmm installed this on Hyperdrive 7 and all the apps now show up in the drawer of apps to choose from despite having only certain ones enabled with multi window manager. That is not that big of a deal but when I go to add one to the side bar (for example Waze), the app then turns to something else (like camera).

My experience as well. Restored the original version from the Hyperdrive zip to get multi Window back up.
Safe to say this mod don't work with Hyperdrive ROM

I redone the Multi-Window mod...
For deodexed roms.
I made it slightly transparent, ditched the blue buttons, and cleaned up the landscape images a bit.

Nova Launcher
No theme really, just a lot of tweaks using nottach framework mods.
The red batteries, WiFi, and signal icons I swapped out in SystemUI.

Looks and works great!!
Is this friendly the "Darkslide" VRUAME7 ROM?
Would be great if this mod would play nicely with MultiWindow Manager so that all apps aren't enabled by default.....that causes issues when trying to add apps to the bar.
Ive had no issues adding or subtracting apps with this mod. Not using the mutiwindow manager btw. But found this post interesting for you to try.

I used it on darkslide and on the early releases of bonestock.
It does not work on the latest bonestock.
If you decide to try it do a backup first to be safe.
