[Q] Notification Menu - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to know how to make the notification pull menu semi-transparent on a custom ROM.
I am no developer...I am using ARHD Rom and want to make the notification pull down menu semi-transparent like in ViperX ROM.

Go to the UOT ( Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen ) . You should be able to accomplish what you want there.

[THEME][Customized Nookie Froyo 0.6.8]Nook Color Transparent Notification bar v1

Hey all,
I recently picked up a NC (love it!) and have ported my transparent theme from Dell Streak to the NC. Download transparent.zip, boot into Clockwork and install the zip. Reboot and you are all set! I also included the original.zip in case you do not like the theme or if you brick your NC.
Changes
v2
Added black notification bar with transparency
v1
Changed time/date/notifcation text color to white
Added transparent pulldown menu
Added transparent notification bar
Bugs
- 3rd party launchers (launcher pro, adw) show black bar at top using regular wallpaper. Live wallpaper unaffected. Using stock launcher also unaffected.
- Due to framework changes GMAIL accounts are wiped out and need to be entered again.

If its the customized nookie froyo rom the framework should be same and will work.
Indeed, it works. I had to manualy replace the files in the system folder using ubuntu. Looks great, thanks!
does this work on v3 of customizable nookie froyo? or just v1?

The version it works on is 0.6.8 the current release. I am not sure if it would work on other builds. If there were no framework changes should work fine.
------UPDATE------
Added black notification bar with transparent pull down menu

Thanks for making this theme -- it looks really nice!
I'm running customized nookier froyo off the sdcard. As a result I have no access to CWM and can't install your zip. Could you make a CWM-free version of you theme?
MANY THANKS!

Download the zip, view with winzip etc, open system folder and extract framework-res.apk and services.jar. once extracted use adb to transfer files to /system/framework. Need root. After the transfer completes finish with adb reboot command.
Theres probably multiple ways to do this but the 2 files are whats needed.
Is it possible to use this on CM7?

These files will not work with the gingerbread framework. This weekend I will load up CM7 and see about adding. Are you looking for just transparent notification bar and pulldown menu?
Could you use this if you flashed a theme already? Will it overwrite the theme or will it add on the transparency in addition to it?

It will overwrite your theme. The hardwork has been done in services.jar to allow transparency. It wouldn't be difficult to port to another theme.

[Q] How do you change the system bar color in 3.2?

I'm running Tasks 3.2 ROM with the stock Touchwiz theme which has the gray system bar. In the past I've used a Black Bar Mod to change the gray color back to black, but that mod really screws with 3.2 and I get a ton of FCs.
Anyone know of a 3.2 mod that will change the bar color? Any other way to do it?
Thanks!

Thank you for tip, but i cannot get it to work (btw i am running overcome rom overcome rom and pershots kernel).
I want to remove light line of couple pixels at the top of system bar.
My actions:
1. adb pull /system/app/SystemUI.apk
2. unzip traybar_bg.9.png and status_bar_background.9.png
3. change in photoshop to transparent (ctrl+a -> del)
4. copy traybar_bg.9.png and status_bar_background.9.png back to SystemUI.apk
5. adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app/SystemUI.apk
In result system bar disappears, and after reboot appears as usual, unmodified. What I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my English.

How to get rid of toggles?

Most roms come with toogles like this.
I'm not a fan of the toggles that came with most roms.
I tried to replace the rom's systemui with the stock systemui but only got bootloops.
How can i remove those toggles?
I decided to open a thread because most of the times there is no answer, on the different rom threads.

depends on rom you want to use it with, thats the same as flashing fonts.zip, best way is to nandroid and try (if it isnt supported, outcome is horrible usualy )
Hi dono if youre one a custom rom yet but you can go to the play store and search for a called notification toggle its a very useful app and puts toggles in ur notification drawer , no root required should word on stock and custom rom !! enjoy
I thought about icons on bar, not in (next to clock). And second question: how change app's icon pernamently? I know that I can download Icon Changer from Google Play, but it's not a good solution for me. Is it any other way to do that?
