Hi everyone. Today me and my friend tried NFC with our S3s. He tried to send me an apk when we touched our S3 phones, on his phone it says "tap to screen to share" etc. He tapped, after that my phone didnt receive it directly and opens the browser to download it. Also we tried to share photo but we couldnt. On the gallery, he can see a sharing option about NFC (in sharing menu, there are wifi direct, group cast, bluetooth etc.).
But on my phone i cant see an option about nfc or beam etc. Is there a problem or related with firmwares.
Note: We both have enabled S beam, android beam and nfc.
Does not anyone have an idea about it ?

now u select a picture in gallery and put devices back to back. they only have to be back to back to share
if u can set settings s beam or android beam
there is no wizard because its not needed
Oke but for example how i send a file from "My Files (mnt/sdcard)". I want to share a file from there and there is no NFC option when i click share/send button after i choose the file (picture, video, apk file or another)

As i know you can not send apk via nfc. You can open an app and touch devices.. the other device will go direct to playstore and you can download that app. Or if you are watching something on youtube, just touch devices and the other device will go to youtube with same video.. same with browsing.. for photo just go to gallery and touch devices to share.

I receive screenshot from my friends. Here its a option about NFC Sharing. In a translation "NFC Dokundurma" is like "NFC Touching". He sees this option so easily send files apks etc. But i cant see this option in my phone...

One thing most people don't understand is that the battery must support this option nfc as some don't....it only comes into play when you change from the stock battery......just some information I came across when trying to buy an extended battery......home this helps.....

as it was already stated if the battery has the chip then nfc is supported if not then you bought the wrong battery......i am speaking from experience but luckily had a friend that didnt use his nfc so we swapped batteries and he seem happy enough......

I have been using this on my PC and phones for quiet long time, but its tablet version hasn't been available on market is a different story! Despite the fact that in its description (on the Market) where states that it's compatible with "Samsung Galaxy Tab series" BUT being shown "incompatible with your device" by Market!
Now, going to try this on my GT-7500 and see if it really work!

can you please post the apk? It isnt available to download for asus transformer(galaxy is 99% the same chipset-wise so apk will work)

the only way to fully exit the app is quitting it out completely.
Well something is still running..its in my notification panel. I see its signed out but can you tell me the steps to remove it from the notification?

when you click then signed out notification icon, then hit the menu key to quit out completely.

Thanks for this, it was killing me that I can't video skype with the GTab. I got my son (college freshman) to install oovoo, and I can now video chat with him from my GTab. Excellent!!!

Smart Connect can be configured to do many things when you plug or unplug an accesory:
Can turn on/off the WiFi, Start or End apps (any app) and even post on Facebook! Check the red underline, That's my automated message!

Here's the APK (attached) but some people on my FB group said it only works on ICS
I used to delete all the bloatware but I think I like this one, mainly for the Facebook thing, well now it has a use and isn't as intrusive as the old app

Thanks till forgot that sony are posting to app store now.
Useless for me as I couldn't get it to recognize my SmartWatch, it didn't even show the SmartWatch app as installed. I reverted back to Liveware Manager 3.3.10.
I had not even realized this feature just update the application please advise :highfive:
Oh, I didn't know they added some old goodies to it, such as automatic profile switching (connect headphones -> silent).
But guess it's no use for me anymore since I'm rocking FXP CM9, but my sister might like it on her XMP.

I can say that this app works flawlessly on JB for SGS3, had liveware and then updated to smart connect, smart tags are now able to do more than before.
something that I like from this new app is the ability to add a time frame for when we want to have some specific actions.
@deniz_S I think you can't stop any apps from smart connect, as far as I've noticed it

I think the timed option is available..if you press add under the device name, you can give the times..

I've read that AT&T doesn't currently support the delivery report, so while I haven't seen the options, they are currently moot.

Yes, but I do not use AT & T network (I'm from Russia). I think there is a way to fix it. The hidden menu or somewhere else, like Hotspot.

Ah, I'm sorry I didn't think of that.
I believe it relies on the sms app you use.
Try an alternative like handcent or gosms.
Or maybe you could get the app from another version of the phone, one of the Canadian or global variants.
Not sure if they would have the option, but they might.

The stock at&t messaging app is able to request delivery reports. Only, for some reason, this option gets lost sometimes, along with the notification led blinking for missed calls or sms. The solution that worked for me might help you as well, if you are rooted- If you have a system app. Remover or another app that makes it possible to get rid of system apps preinstalled in the phone. Each such application should have the option to back up every system app before uninstall. So, you backup your messaging app. - called lgmsg3.apk (or something like that I might not remember it precisely), then you uninstall it, reboot your device, and through the very same app. - system app remover, you hit restore app and choose the messaging application. It asks you whether it is a system app, you hit yes and here you go delivery reports (under settings, text messages) as well as led blinking for missed events are back!

I have a Samsung Galaxy SII and cannot get this to quit! It's not showing up in my downloads, when I try long clicking on it in my active applications it just brings me to my home page and I disabled FB (which is not showing anywhere on my phone but I'm unable to enable in Play Store). PLEASE HELP!

I'm getting it as well, along with a bunch of people who also posted this problem today on Android Central. To fix it, long press on the notification until "app info" pops up. Go into app info, force stop it, and then clear data.
Alternatively, find the app called "downloads" in your app drawer, open it, press the "other downloads" button on the right. You should see the Facebook download with an in progress status. Tick the box next to it and then press the little trashcan icon to delete it.
Problem solved.
Edit: Probably best to do both methods, as it came back on me once after just deleting it from downloads app.

Its a strange problem that affects multiple devices, and many had no idea of knowing if it affected one particular device/ROM or not. Relax.
I got it twice today on my Note 2 running a Touchwiz ROM, so it doesn't seem device dependant. FB Playstore error I would assume.

I just read online WHY this is happening: Its because Facebook has pushed an update that will allow future updates to happen OUTSIDE of the Play Store (aka silent updates).
I haven't been able to get the direct update to work so far, but The Verge confirms that it is from FB, so it is safe.

Don't know about Pokemon go as don't play it.
But yes it has lots of apps listed for dual apps. I am using WhatsApp and Facebook without any issues

Hello all , I am really close to buy the phone but I want to ask about one vital functionality which I am not sure if the Poco supports it. So can you test if poco can have "any" two apps in split view? Also, there is an option in the developers secret menu which you choose "enable all apps to be resizabe" then reboot, and test again if now it works.
I would really appreciate if anyone test and tell me.Thanks.

Split screen is supported, not all apps though
I found the setting in developer options, enabled, rebooted but the apps that weren't supported earlier could not be used in split screen still.

Some Xiaomi phones allow that but some not. It will be strange if this powerhouse can't do that but Redmi Note 5 Pro can!

Yes, settings on - reboot - tried split screen
I switched the settings off after the apps did not work in split screen.
Have access to a redmi note 5 pro, will try there too.

Thanks , my nephew has the Note 5 AI (same like pro) and it alows all apps to be in split view. That's a real bummer for me as I want it for job purposes.
