[XPU] Sim slot problem :( - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

One of my friend bought a xperia U, which is from T-Mobile Deutsch (Germany [IDK]), I tried to put the sim as it on the guide + but It's just going deeper, without locking When I try other side It click or locks down (I can hear the sound) ! and I've tried 4 side of the sim 2 sides clicks another 2 side just get deeper ! then I have to use a pin to get the sim out in addition to that 4 side says no SIM card in the slot What could be the problem ???

Well sounds like your simcard got stuck in the lot.
Go to a T-mobile store and they can help you with getting it out and also making a new sim card. Because if you turned it around and stock it in the wrong way you might have scratched the copper surface of the simcard and cause problems in the future.

Rebel Sim questions

Hi
I have read plenty on here about the problems people are getting trying to unlock an Orange Hero, so have decided to go down the rebelsim route.
I have ordered one with the hole punch, I couldn't find any specific help on their website about how you use it.
Does it come with instructions ?
If not can anyone help me on what I have to do to use it ?
What is the hole punch for ?
Can you use the same rebelsim for more than one simcard ?
Will the phone be the same as before when inserting a new sim with the rebelsim ie. all previous applications still there/messages/emails ?
Thanks for your help.
Does it come with instructions ?
Mine didn't
If not can anyone help me on what I have to do to use it ?
There are instructions on there website on how to insert it into the phone.
What is the hole punch for ?
The punch puts a small hole in your sim card so the rebel sim fits neatly behind it, as the rebel sim has a very small chip on it. The hole does not effect the normal use of your sim if you choose to remove the rebel sim.
Can you use the same rebelsim for more than one simcard ?
As far as I know, if you change phones and wish to use the rebel sim you should be able to.
Will the phone be the same as before when inserting a new sim with the rebelsim ie. all previous applications still there/messages/emails ?
The rebel sim doesn't appear to change the phone in any way, just bypasses the network lock.
Hope this helped, I've been using mine for about one month now, had no problems at all.
Thanks for that.
Has anyone used a 3 sim card in their Orange Hero (unlocked either by code or rebelsim) ?

Mine is an Orange Hero that could not be unlocked by code, which is why I got the Rebel sim, I'm using a T-Mobile sim and that works fine.
I have bought the o2 pay as you go sim where you top up £15 a month and get free unlimited texts and internet.
Anyone know where I can get the info to change to settings on the phone to o2's ? I presume I have to change these manually ?
Thanks
I have checked the instructions on the rebel sim website but the pictures are not very clear.
Am I correct in thinking that there is a small part protruding on the rebel sim card and that you have to cut a hole on your network sim card so that the rebel sim can sit down correctly onto it ? I take it that it will be obvious where to cut the hole in my sim card ? also is it the blank end opposite to the chip ?
Thanks, just don't want to mess this up when I get the rebel sim.

Yes to all of that.
Fitted my rebel sim today and everything if working fine with an o2 sim card on my Orange locked hero.
I will give this 9.5 out of 10, I would have given it 10 out of 10 if the cutters they sent weren't pink.

I dont know about network regulation. But yes, you can cut your sim into micro-sim with special tool.. It's work for me after I cut my sim.
Yes, cutting a mini SIM down to micro SIM size works fine. You can get specialised cutters if you don't want to do it yourself.

Hi, look at this Link. It works fine
xxx.micro-sim.de/selbst-basteln
When I bought my phone, the woman on the store didn't had micro sim (would take weeks to arrive), so she said she could cut one of the regulars into a micro sim.
Well, she done a very bad cutting. When she inserted it on the Razr, it got stuck, it wouldn't get out, nor the razr recognize it.
I got my phone replaced anyways on that time.
After like 15 minutes all the vendors on the store trying to unstuck it, a guy finally used a needle to pinch it and he could take it out.
I was then looking at the regular SIM stock from that store, I noticed that some are a bit more thick than others and that plus the bad cutting didn't work well with the Razr slot.
I preferred to use my iphone's microSIM on the Razr, and transfer the lines, and use the cut down sim on the iphone, because its slot is more difficult to stuck.
Well, anyway, just beware that it you miss cut it, it can get stuck.
And if it does, you can get a needle, and pinch it to remove it.
Good luck!
thanks guys for ur help
Oh note that I've cut identically two simcards, one of them didn't work (was working in my old SGS2) after the cut. Into the SGS2 was still working even after the cut (hand positioning into the SIM slot, yay!).
So actually it isn't 100% sure that your SIM will work in the RAZR after the cut.
Anyway, for the other SIM that didn't work, I went into my operator's store and they've replaced it with a MicroSIM that I'm actually using in my RAZR.
Wouldn't be simpler to go to your provider and ask them to replace the sim? They can code your existing account to the new sim....
Mine was cut by my phone shop.. It works fine but o would not recommend it on a permanent basis.
From time to time I will get error messages sayingsomething like Sim card error.. After a while, less than a minute
It will b able to read just fine..
At first I don't bother with it, then came the time where the problem kicks in during a phone call.. The call was dropped.
so I would recommend everyone to get the micro Sim instead..
I will too, this weekend.. This drop calls is getting annoying.

[Q] Galaxy tab damages SIM card!!!

I used my tablet (Galaxy tab 10.1 P7500) with wifi only for almost 1 year. Recently I bought a SIM card (regular, not mini SIM) for using 3G with my tablet. It worked for about 10 days and then stopped working. Surprisingly, when I took the SIM out and tried to use with a phone, the SIM failed to register with the network! My operator told me that the SIM has been probably damaged and replaced it with another. In another 10 days I am facing the same problem again!
I wish to make these clear:
- I inserted the SIM properly into the tablet as per the instructions. I had not removed it thereafter. So, there is no probability of damage.
- In both the instances, the SIM looked perfectly all right. Not even a scratch!
- My operator swears that the problem is with the tablet and it does something to the SIM and makes it non-functional.
My questions:
1) What is the possible reason behind this?
2) Can the tablet work with a regular SIM?
3) Can the tablet damage a regular SIM with 10 days of use?
4) Should I use a micro SIM?
5) Will the problem recur with a micro SIM?
Any help will be highly appreciated! Thanks!
what I did when got the same problem

1)dust or movement of the card
You can use only the same size of sim as you had, the size doesn't matter, it just need to "seat" right
Try: buy a fresh new eraser for the old school pencils and gently clean the SIM card - only a new eraser so you won't damage it, don't push too hard, this way you remove any small parts on it that could block it.
Eject your SIM card only when the system is shut down. and restore it in shutdown mode again.
Be sure you turn your wifi off before shuting down so you could initialize the sim at boot and see if you got conection.
Good Luck.

[Q] Sim card holder broken?

I have a cut down sim card that i use for my galaxy s3. The sim card holder accpeted the cut down sim and everything was fine. It would click out and in fine. Today after i flashed a new rom the mobile data kept dropping out. I thought it was my sim so i tried to click it out and it wouldnt come out. I seached ways to take it out online and finally used a thumb tack to slowly push it out in the little hole. Now the sim wont fit in the phone and everytime i shake my phone a ting sound comes from the sim card slot. I think it is broken. Where would i be able to fix it? Will warrenty cover that? thanks.

i believe warranty will not cover that considering...
1. you applied force in taking the sim card out..
2. it is not a factory defect

i9300 Cannot detect SIM card

I have a international i9300 procured from USA.
It got a new microsim to try on the phone but it did not detect it.
Also, I flashed latest CyanogenMod nightly till the SIM got activated.
No show, no SIM detected.
Strangely same SIM was detected fine on a friend's iPhone.
Friend's hand cut MicroSIM was detected fine on my phone.
So, I restored original office stock Samsung ROM using Odin.
Still it shows no SIM card detected.
I have changed 3 sims to get this working but alas no luck.
Tried flashing atleast 5 baseband radios, again no luck.
efs folder is intact. IMEI number and Serial number are fine. So that cannot be a problem.
Did anyone ever face this problem? Googling did not help even after trying all the suggestions.
Can someone help me understand what I am doing wrong here?
What should I be looking at?
Thanks,
Are you sure it's an international version?....if so, has it been unlocked or was it factory unlocked?
Do you and your friend have your SIM cards from the same carrier?
[SOLVED]
So it took some closer observation in figuring out that one of the SIM module pins was bent. This resulted in poor contact between SIM and the module. Thus the no SIM card error.
I used a LED flashlight and a sewing needle to pull it up enough at same level as rest of the 2 pins.
Works now!
If anyone faces this issue even after changing lot of baseband radios and ROMs. Look first at your SIM module contacts. They should be slightly raised and at one level. Do not panic to order a replacement module.
Use a high intensity light, a magnifying glass , a needle and steady hands to pull the pressed or bent contact up. There you go, it should work.
Thanks,
