Anyone else think original tablet s is just as fast as xperia tablet s? - Sony Tablet S

apart from gaming does anyone else think xperia tablet s is pretty poor at web browsing on native browser and chrome? my phone (xperia T) which has a lot more to deal with seems so much faster. My original tablet s seemed just as fast. Loading and browsing pages like engadget.com slow the xperia tablet s to a crawl.

I agree browsing on Xperia Tablet S is jerky at best, Disappointment!

Fine for me with Firefox Beta, default browser + chrome = crap.

The Xperia Tablet S has lots of issues, even the hardware has an issue where it is not waterproof, the screen is lifted up.

Just wierd how tegra 2 tablets on ics browse way faster and smoother....
Sent from my SGPT12 using XDA Premium HD app

Ah you see, it has nothing to do with the processor - take a look at other Tegra 3 tablets and you'll see the browsing is smooth. It's an issue deep inside the framework of the device.

I agree with SWFlyerUK, its just the OS itself, even CyanogenMod is much more stable then the stock rom

[Beta] Opera Mobile Labs - most stable browser I've used on TF201

This browser has been out for a few weeks but I figured I would post it here for you guys. I've used just about every mobile browser out there and know the issues with most of them.
Stock - Not many options, slower than others, bugs here and there
Firefox - Poor desktop UA, lacks many of the add-ons that make firefox worth using.
Dolphin - Collects user data, not quite as quick as competition
Maxathon - Bulky and FC's alot
Chrome - BUGGY
Boat - Nice UI, very customisable, but choppy webpages, quick to load but not as stable.
Opera - Quick and loads pages with stable scrolling, but randomly exits alot and has some problems with flash.
Opera Mobile Labs 12 is like Opera without the exits and flash issues and the addition of desktop extensions like ghostery, noscript, etc. For ages I've been asking, why can't Android have a single browser that doesn't suck in one way or another, so far it looks like my prayers have been answered. I'm mostly surprised it's a beta build. Let me know what you think.

Same here. Only one problem I noticed that i forgot about in OP, sometimes saving images will create .webp files instead of .jpg, .png, etc. Just change the extension to whatever and it's fine.

With opera I've noticed the loading bar moves a little slower, but the pages load fully. Compared to boat, the loading bar moves fast, but only the banner displays after the page loads and then there's some lag time waiting for the rest of the page to load.
flash performance is a the best out there!
but scrolling still feels like 15 frps and a lot of the web pages do not fit the screen width... otherwise great improvement!!
This opera isnt smooth - ics browser plus and dolphin hd are much better then opera lab.

Lolwut have you been smoking I know its weed day but still. No, I'm just kidding but I didn't experience any lag with this opera and I'm normally underclocked to around 800 MHz quadcore.

Scrolling in this version is still choppy. In fact its the laggiest browser on TP.
THANK YOU for sharing!! I didn't even know about this. Opera is my default browser on my laptop, and Opera Mobile on my Evo 3D and Prime. Really really excited about trying this on my Prime!!!

I've tried them all but still end up using stock.
I use the stock browser (but since the ICS update the widget no longer works properly) and Dolphin

Using dolphin hd working better then the stock

I use opera. Speedy and good support for flash.
I use Google chrome
I switch between Dolphin HD and Chrome. Both are better than stock IMHO, but each has a few small failings which necessitates both being used.

I've tried Dolphin HD, Chrome, Opera, and the stock. I find myself switching around, but lately I've been using opera, I find it more finger "friendly". the other browser switching tabs is a pain with my fingers, with opera the layout much better.
Dolphin hd

I find dolphin the best. The ics stock browser is good too, In my opinion better than both chrome or opera for this device.

Firefox

Anyone tried the latest tablet optimized Firefox on their TF300? I downloaded it a couple of hours ago and am really digging it. It's very fast. Zooming and panning is almost as fast and smooth as Opera, and page rendering fidelity is way up there. I've got to say: betweeen Chrome, Opera, Firefox and Dolphin, we've got some pretty decent web browsers to choose from!
I'm pleased with Firefox (added Adblock also ). For me it seems faster than the stock browser or Chrome, so I'll stick with it.

I was used maxthon browser way faster and easy sync bookmarks http://maxthon.com/
Me too. I use also AdWay (root), best add's block

Favorite browser?

I'm wondering which browser you guys are using on your Transformer, and why?
I'm looking for a browser that looks good and is intuitive to use with the keyboard.
For my part I'm liking Dolphin Browser, especially because the adress/tabs bar is hidden when you're not using it. But I'm not entirely pleased because I don't have the "return to top" button in the bottom right corner that I have on my phone, not sure why, but it makes it a it of a hassle to use.

I really like firefox when using the transformer with the keyboard attached, it's fast and I've synchronzed it with my desktop's firefox also. I feel it smoother than the stock browser and chrome.
When using it undocked, I use chrome as I love the zoom when you click on a zone with more than one link to improve accuracy
I prefer dolphin HD when not using the keyboard
I use Chrome all the time except when watching Amazon video.
lucky u have the dock
i use firefox last version all the times. smooth and speedy
I use Chrome almost exclusively. Love how it syncs with chrome on my desktop.

I use Chrome all the time. Really smooth, I can play almost all videos.
Only chrome. I love the way it handles my Google account

I use Maxthon Tablet HD for browsing and xScope Pro or the built-in browser for downloading.
If UC Browser ever makes one for tablet, then that would without a doubt be my number one mobile browser.

I've been using Chrome, Mostly. But I sometimes find myself using Opera or Firefox. I've been most imporessed by how much Firefox has improved since it was first released.
Pretty much always chrome. Love how all my bookmarks from my desktop are there. I used dolphin on my phone and it's also great but chrome just has more features.

Personally I am partial to chrome, but I do like the quick controls feature of the stock browser.
Boat
Will sick to dolphin
Click THANKS button if u agree
Will be honored.

Chrome browser is horrible on my Tablet S.

Don't know why, but the chrome browser is a buggy piece of crap. Whereas, on my Sony Xperia S, it works like a dream. Why is that?

Me 2
I don't think Chrome has the greatest tablet experiance - the tab's are just to small for my liking.
What bugs have you found?
Yes mine too. It doesnt like tabbed browsing. Sometimes when I open 1-2 more tabs the pages dont load. Even with just one tab the page sometimes does not load at all. The browser has crashed to desktop on mine a few times as well. The tablets just needs a few things fixing then it will be perfect:
chrome fix
Delay in waking device fix.
Random reboots
Ps store and dual shock 3 native support.

I have problems with tabs too! it goes blank when switching and end up closing chrome and start all over! really annoying
Sent from my SGPT12 using xda premium
it crashes on me almost everytime. I've decided to give it a fair chance by installing it a few times but still the same everytime. Had to go back to dolphin. Dont even bother with chrome at the moment unless it gets a major update.
According to google mobile official blog, Chrome browser is still in a beta phase
Sent from my Sony Tablet S using xda app-developers app
you have to disable the stock browser, and chrome will be better. But firefox is better on my tablet s
Just like they said. Tabbed browsing is bad. Really bad. Another thing I noticed is that when I open a couple of tabs, it crashes. Some pages don't scroll at times. And it sometimes crashes for no reason.
Its so smooth and sweet on my SXS, it confuses me. Both are Sony ICS devices.
