Bootloader Cuztomization? - HTC Desire X

hey Guys I found this http://www.xda-developers.com/android/bootloader-customization-now-open-to-more-s-off-htc-devices/ is that thing capable for messing with the Desire X's bootloader? :\

I'm not sure, i think it will, but we need to get the DX S-Off first.

I don't know much about GSM phones... Is the phone already activated....
My guess would be you need a recovery on it and wipe and flash a rom... Sounds like your stuck in hboot or the old rom didn't take and it is bootlooping.. I don't think you can use a RUU if your phone is unlocked it would have to be relocked to use one....

So your saying I should relock hboot then try RUU? The phone is activated through rogers.

You could do that I would first try to use adb and put a recovery on it tho.... If you can flash a recovery to the phone....
Then wipe and flash a rom you want you should be fine... I would try this before relocking....
OK. I will try this later td.

The recovery wouldn't work, so i re-locked and used the rogers RUU and the device is back to stock and working like new!

I have S-Off from factory

Hey,
My phone says S-Off but above that it says LOCKED. Does that mean I am out of luck because the bootloader is locked? Is this any type of advantage over an S-On phone considering HTC shut us out?
Thanks

if you s-off you should be able to flash a recovery.img in hboot and then flash a rooted rom or root package...regardless of locked or not
but tbh ive never been in that situation so i cant speak from personal experience
maybe someone else can chime in on that

Yeah, I got the phone from a local Verizon employee the day it came out. It came in a white box. Pretty cool that it is S-Off. The plastic faceplate has a crack through it though, I think the quality control might have been skipped on these employee versions. I never dropped it, the crack just appeared.
Anyway back to Roms. I hope it is true that I can just flash a rooted rom. Anybody know for sure?
Is there a way to pull a copy something off of the phone to help with the ongoing s-off efforts?

Ok I'll try that after work today and advise.
I wish I could take a screenshot of the bootloader screen so that you guys can better understand my situation. I'll try to get a camera later and take a photo.
It worked. I am now rooted with TWRP recovery. Thanks guys. Let me know if there is anything I can pull off my phone for you.
The only reason I may switch back to stock is for the international functionality that they say is coming to this phone. I really need that.

what is your hboot?
is it an ENG hboot or is it the stock hboot_1.02.0000?
if ENG you could pull that it could be of use if/when s-off comes for this phone.
BUT it's really not a big deal as I already have a friend who does have the ENG hboot for this phone so he will be giving me it, just wondering if you have it as well, and if they would be the same.

It might block you from using fastboot commands without a patched hboot. However, I would sacrifice those to keep ***LOCKED*** status.

What to do after JTAG S-OFF

I thought I would start a thread to help people that sent there DNA out to get JTAG s-off and now are trying to flash a custom Rom.
If anybody want to put there experience on here so people know the steps and the correct way to handle the bootloader.
I think it would be helpful. I am still waiting for mine to come back from mobiletechvideos so it would be helpful for me to.
Thanks to anyone who contributes.

s-off dna
The purpose of the forum is to get the right info I've seen conflicting points on whether or not you still need to unlock the bootloader after s-off.
My understanding was that once your s-off you don't need to unlock because it bypasses the bootloader security checks. I am probably wring but I was hoping to get a clarified answer with this forum what do think choochoo

You shouldn't have to all you really need to do is flash the ENG Hboot and flash a recovery and then flash a Rom most have root already and your good to go. If you wanna use the stock hboot and only want su permission then you do need to unlock hboot it to be able to flash a recovery and superuser or supersu.

The eng hboot has more functions available so there is a better chance of messing up the phone. Most people stick with the stock hboot since that's good enough for most.

Just got my phone back from the JTAG service and this was the exact procedure. Flashed the ENG boot and then flashed recovery. Bootloader still says 'LOCKED' but allowed me to flash.
I've JTAGG'd 18 DNA devices so far on the OTA update (I do this on the downlow due to specific "developer" who can't understand how to get all phones to take the RIFF JTAG flash software.
Flash ENG Hboot if you want the options available to it, though not mandatory. Install a root program (SuperSU is my recommendation), then flash a recovery.
Immediately backup your current setup, then go for any ROM you see fit. Profit.

Not all of them, but there's a list somewhere on that site. And it also works on HTC One S (even with those hboots that don't allow facepalm or moonshine methods), even though not listed. The site claims it should work on EVERY Qualcomm based HTC device.

Can you ask the devs of rumrunner for support? Maybe "every modern qualcomn based HTC device" doesn't match ours in some way...
This isn't new and it was mentioned on our sub-forum a while ago and already confirmed not working, and i thought a load of users already messaged the team but none ever gave an update on it

frankly, that takes 5 seconds on fastboot. Only gripe is that u have to use a PC, but still we dont have that many kernels or Roms to flash in order to make s-off much useful
On my old bravo, it made more sense, because they could remap all the partition sizes and hence decrease size of cache and system partition and added that to data partition.
But still, maybe someone will benefit from it

Yeah! There aren't much kernels or roms to flash & roms can be flashed through recovery!
But the major feature is that we can get our bootloaders locked instead of relocked & have the warranty back.
On the One S subforum they say it doesn't work unless you unlock the bootloader and root.
