Wow. if u had asked this question in any other forum ppl would have laughed at you... i guess u didnt even search any thread in xda before posting this question. Also u are not the first one to change kernel so many have asked the same question before. however we the members of this forum are very helpful people so here goes....
no need to wipe anyhting for changing kernel. connect phone to PC and just get into fastboot mode using flashtool. clok lightning button chose fastboot > chose select kernel to flash, locate kernel needed eg.kernelpanic.img and click ok. flashing is done. now reboot ur phone.

Tnx for replay
I know how to flash kernel but want to flash kernel without wip or any way for that
Anyway tnk so much for ur help

Just flash it,you don't need to wipe anything

Tnx bro
Other question:
I've a backup from.my rom that was on rage kernel, now can I restor that back up while i'm on mesa kernel?
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app

There is no need to factory reset or format cache, data and system, Just flash it.
But in my way... I only wipe dalvik cache just incase if something crash after flashing.
For a better way... Use nandroid backup before all of it.

Xperia U ICS Flashable Zip

I have just made a zip of the ICS FTF for a friend.
My questions are: is there one already and I just wasted my time?
If not, does anybody want to test it as I won't be able to check on my friend's phone for another two days.
I've removed some apps and rooted it.

There is none,as far as i know,n is it for st25i or st25a..please gimme the link,i'll test it n report back..also.does the recovery works even after the update..??
I haven't added the kernel, so I think the ROM would have to be flashed in recovery first, then flash the stock kernel in Flashtool. I could upload that as well if needed.
I could look into adding the kernel, I think it's just a few lines in the update script. It's unlikely to have recovery though. Don't know how to do that yet.
I'm not familiar with adding kernels because I've only tried with a phone that can't flash kernels in recovery.

As far as I know it is a, but I've changed the build.prop to i. I read as long as you don't flash the baseband it should be OK.

So,that means i just have to boot into recovery and flash the zip,and then flash the stock kernel again..right,,k gimme all the lins,m keen to try it..

Not working for me..stuck in bootloop..
Did you wipe caches and data before and after, and use the correct (stock ICS) kernel?

So you made a backup from stock rom (ics?) with stock kernel. And you want restore it? Is this the same firmware as you currently running?
did you renamed the backup? CWM writes something in the restorte process? e.g md5 mistmach or something else?
If you made a backup from gb rom you can't restore it with ics kernel, because cwm can't restore the kernel.
I created backup of latest kernel n ics. Than i tried to install custom rom but it didnt work so i tried t restore... Twice unable... Dont wry only 1 backup and date is mentioned on it.... U mean t say to restore kernal shall remain same?
1 more que i used pimp my rom app nw my internet game force closes?

On cwm when try to restore gives you a status 7 error or something like that?
Friend one thing you have to remember that while restoring old rom you have to remember that you need to flash the same kernel on which you have taken the backup as your problem is rom kernel mismatch. For stock rom try Rage kernel
Sent from my Xperia Live with Walkman using xda app-developers app
Restore like this:
Wipe data
Wipe cache
Format system
Wipe dalvik cache
Restore
Be sure you have not renamed backup or any file related to cwm

Yes Ajay74 is right, your problem is kernel ROM mismatch. On all Xperia 2011 devices (and before) there is no separate partition for recovery and it usually lives in the boot partition and recovery cannot back up the partition where it lives. So the kernel is not backed up and restoring a back up will not restore the kernel that made the back up.

How to backup kernel?

Does cwm backup kernel also?
If I install a custom kernel. Can I go back to stock one? If yes, how?

I've been reading many solutions over these and these are the replies which i got,,...
Might be a virus which interrupts your commands...
your rom is consuming high ammount of ram and this leads to disruption of your signals....
you must try virus scan or factory reset data and check if problem is solved

First of all, when you want help about specific doftware provide a link to it's thread/web page.
Second, before you brick your phone and come asking for help, see if this ROM is for locked or unlocked boot loader. If it's for locked BL and yours is locked, either unlock your BL (read about it first) or stay away from this ROM.
