Sola hardware buttons light - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

I have Sola running ics, hardware buttons (menu - Home - Back) light not working correctly, I want it to be on as long as I'm working on the phone and off while the screen is off - that's it, any advice?

Try IIumination bar app.

+1 the hardware buttons light erratically. its been like this since its last update (.184) before ICS. I thought the ICS update would fix this but it hasnt.

Try a factory reset or repair it with PC Companion.
Yeah,,,
ICS had a bug, maybe
Led Notification on my XMP didn't work to. Only when charging phone, low battery and missed call, led worked.

Back and Menu lights work fine on my LWW, however notification light is indeed buggy.

[Q] My Physical Keyboard Xperia Mini Pro Isn't Light

I've installed the latest Cyanogen Mod is cynogen 9 with ics4. and everything seems to work just fine but my physical keyboard isn't lighted.
How to fix that problem?
Even I face this problem. What I do is that after unlocking my xmp I change the brightness a little bit using the status bar and then my soft keys light up and also my hw keyboard keys light up.

Do you mean that every time you unlock your phone, you have to play with brightness to have back-light back on the Hardware Keyboard ?
I have to admit I am waiting be sure of this information before I switch to CM9, this and to be sure I'll be able to switch my hardware keyboard to AZERTY easily, and that the Blue and Sym keys are working properly too. I bought a XMP to have a small device with a Hardware Keyboard, so this last point is essential to me.

Hey ! Sorry for the necro posting, but I think it's a valuable info (maybe it has already been told but...)
I flashed my XMP yesterday with Cyanogenmod9 RC2, and the keyboard is just fine :
- Easy (in the menu and not buy an ugly copy of a stock rom file in root mode) to change the layout (AZERTY needed in France).
- Backlighted as it should.
- Blue and SYM Keys working as attended.
The only thing is that you have to use the kernel (boot.img) found in the FXP130 and not the one included on the file by CyanogenMod.

Xperia S LED problem

Just today I observed, the small LED light (not LED bar) at the top stopped working , now it does not notify about missed calls and unread messages!!! is it a kind of bug or what??
although it works while charging and if there is an incoming call.
Thanx
Mine stopped working after updating to ICS. I installed lightflow to fix it, but it started draining my battery so I removed lightflow but the LED is still working.

Had my T a few days, same issue after the 4.0.4 update - factory reset did the trick for me. It now flashes for email, calls ext.
I was frustrated with the same problem on XP. I found out that led notification doesn't work if you have "extended standby mode" enabled. Not sure if this is a bug or a feature. :silly:

i'm not getting any haptic feedback when typing, even though the option is enabled. anyone else getting this same issue?
Download the app "Xperia Service Menu". There are tests for all the hardware available.

Use Settings/About/Diagnostics
No need to download anything.
Must say though Sony seem to have a problem with their haptic motors.
Had a faulty one in a Z1 Compact. My Z1 is in for repair for a broken haptic motor. Disappointing if they're still having problems with this in the tablet Z2.

have you tried repairing it with Sony PC Companion or Sony Update service?
ok after running the sony update service the option turned from sound and vibrate to just sound options under xperia keyboard.
then once you initiate a reset from within the settings it comes back to sound and vibrate, but won't work, so thinking it was an option that was removed.

Apparently mine suffers the same issue. I don't think it's an hardware issue since I went to service testing and it seems to work fine. It also works when I am in the key board vibration settings, it just zoesnt work outside of that.
Might just be a software bug, hope the next update fixes it.
Which fw are you on? I'm on .36

yeah .36 also
I don't think anything is broken here guys.
At the time of release, I read somewhere that Sony intentionally only activated haptic feedback for certain UI elements, the keyboard wasn't one of them. I'm sure it was in manual.

i know that you might be right, but the ui option for vibration in the keyboard was left behind, so therefore this would be a minor software bug with xperia keyboard.
