[Q] Internal Momory of HTC Desire X - HTC Desire X

What is the internal memory of HTC Desire X after subtracting the amount of memory used by system? HTC said that it's 4GB of internal storage but how much is taken by system
?

With system it's about 2.7 GB

How much is there available for apps ? I mean the data partition. I'm looking into this phone for my niece.

If you're looking to get this phone, I highly reccomend you buy a MicroSD card to go with it. You can get a 32GB one for as low as £10

Well yea, she's got a micro SD from a previous phone.
I'm only asking because "2.2 GB user available space" doesn't tell me much about how much is available for APPS. We all know app2sd doesn't solve this. I had the original Desire, which lacked internal app space and I dont wan't her to experience that. Can someone with the Desire X just post a screenshot of the "Manage apps" section which shows available space ?

Here you go. Its in Czech but you can see the numbers. I have around thirty five apps installed

Great, thank you, looks like 1GB space for apps. Guess my niece just found a new phone. :]

one more screenshot would be good eh
and this when i connect to pc

Awesome, seems like a nice buy. Xperia J/Miro/U have less space for apps, smaller and have less RAM. So DX seems to be a nice buy. S3 mini is also nice, but that's like 50€ extra (everything is always just 50€ extra away).

How big is the system partition, guys?

System is 940 MB, data is 1 GB, another 1 GB towards an "internal SD".

[Q] My evo 3d only has 1gb of internal memory, not 4.

Anyone else having this problem. Sprint site says 4gb internal memory. I'm smelling some complaining for a credit bc of false advertising.
That memory is allocated.

I agree i assumed I would have nearly 4gb of available internal memory. I would love to have that advertised memory available to me. Its not a deal breaker for me due to the fact that every downloaded app is able to be saved to sd.

That memory is there as advertised. It's just allocated for different resources.

4GB internal, 3GB reserved for weather animations. hehe jk sense is a OS all in itself its sucking up all the space.
here it goes again.
lol sounds like the ipod touch people "i just bought an 8gb ipod touch wth is it saying 7.5gb available hahaha u people need to think! where do u think the os sits hence internal memory! be smart be wise

You think that's bad? I love the people who buy hard drives and are clueless who sizes work in terms of bytes and bits.
"Hard drive says it has 1Tb, WTF do I only see 975Gb? RAAAAGEEEE!!!!!!!!!!"
The RUU is only 400MB and only having 1 out of 4 GB is a little extreme... I'm wondering where the rest of it is too.

I am too..I can understand maybe a gb missing but not 3 of four...and. highly doubt that sense uses up 3 gbs..**** roms on the EVO were only like 400mbs tops
1 gig
is still a canyon full of delecious apps you can either pull or put in more.
This phone is beast
It shouldn't take that much space. Can't wait to root and firerat it to gain the storage back.

4 gig internal storage?

So since some of us have root would anyone like to share what was in the 3 gigs that we unrooted users can't get to?

The OS LOL, I think is just advertising no ROM that i know of has 3 gb free
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Yes this is very misleading and shouldn't be allowed. They tell you 4gb and you only get 1gb. The photon advertised the same things 16gb internal and you only get to use 8.97gb. It's false advertising to me but it seems to be allowed since they are using it on the OS so that makes it ok. I was dissappointed by the low amount of internal memory when I switched to the Evo 3d. 1gb is a lot but it's still not enough if you are a appaholic.

Yup that's right , that's why I only got like 100 apps , sad thing I got more for my iPhone and iPad almost by tripple ha ha
from my shooter rocking myns ROM
No different then a pc. It will say 500GB hard drive..windows will the 30 gig, then another 30 for the real size. So you start will 440 free.

The android system and sense take up a whole 3 gigs?!?? That just seems outrageous.
boom!! from my shooter
Not just sense. There is a partition that is a backup of sense. Remember when we were first temp-rooting? Any change we made got reverted on reboot. How do you think it did that? It copied over from the "backup sense" any changes that were made to the system or data partitions. That **** takes up space.
Is there a way to get that space,or are better off leaving it alone?

I hope theres a way we can get it back!. I wonder if we could use it to dual boot too
Since we now have root, can we Firerat the partitions like we did in the Hero?
well this is an easy fix if you have a large SD card.
i have my sd card partitioned out 2 extra gigabytes for data. makes up for the false advertising... which i totally agree, by the way, is utter bull****. they should tell you what you are getting in NET storage, not gross.

I'm not that worries about app space bit I also don't put them on the SD I was just wondering if there is like 2 gigs sitting completely unused. I only say that because 3 gigabytes is gigantic for sense sense and android. Unless sense really is that big. I'm not rooted I was on my hero but I applied the ota too early.

Nah, it came with a dual core processor instead of single core. Infuse just came with double the storage.
Dual core > storage. You can always add to the storage, you can't add another core.
It comes with 16Gb of internal memory, and you can add an additional 32Gb MicroSD.

The not new,new guy!!!!

Ladies, gentlemen......Im just got the photon yesterday, coming from the EVO3D..i still have it just looking for something more. Ive been having a lot of lock ups where the phone becomes unresponsive.is this normal?i mean i thought. Without the Hog that is sense, this phone should perform better than the 3D..its not ...any advice would the a great help....

1. Welcome
2. Congrats on your purchase
3. What did you put on it (app wise?) I had an Evo too. I have @ 80+ Apps now with SPB 3D Shell and the difference between Evo and Photon is night and day.
I needed replacement (long story) and when I got new Photon it started acting funny. I deleted Google+ and all good, but I put Google+ back because I use it. Just saying, maybe you installed something thats killing it?
One last thing (because I was JUST reading something eles) How much space are you using on the phone? Not the SD Card, not the 16Gb (well actually 8.79Gb but whats a few Gb between friends), You have 1Gb RAM, and 2GB ROM, install 2Million App's and ...............You get my point!

.thanked.

you can be using 1kb and one app, if its a jacked up app...........
On a personal note, I never install anything with less that 500,000 downloads AND 4-5 stars. Google+, the new version, being the exception!
I don't know if you used the same sd card that you had in the 3d, but if you are it's a good idea to save the info you need and format your sd card.

Apps 2 SD Failure

Ok im having this problem where apps 2 sd doesnt want to work for me.... check this image
But i do think huawei blocked move to sd feature.... so how do fix it new kernal?
Sent from my MediaPad 7 Lite using xda app-developers app
It's not a kernel thing. Your device has most likely has enough storage and ram to accommodate the rom, your stuff and storage for your apps. My device, GS3's and probably more really have no problem with this. My captivate on the other hand had such little ram and phone storage, the emmc chip was partitioned with 1.5gb of phone storage, 550 megs of rom storage and the rest USB(13gb or so) However moving apps also meant widgets wouldn't work. Hope this shines a little light on the situation.
