Hey guys, I was just looking for a tutorial on how to create an apex launcher icon pack. I found it but it was so complicated that i found an idea. I wanted to create an icon pack with Symbian Belle icons. I will supply all the icons and any one person can compile them and make an icon pack. He can then give me a copy of that icon pack and then do whatever he wants to do with the rest(sell it in the market etc). I will also supply the icons if requested of any app/game etc. Pl help me and you can also make some money out of this if you decide to sell the icon pack in the market. Hello and welcome to the XDA Forum. At first i think you had to read the threads there are always much info´s.
Theme, Slider and etc mostly are .cab files. Thes .cab files you put on your storage card and then tab on it. After tab on it, it will be install the theme or slider.
And after restart you device you shoule see it.

I'm working on creating my own Launcher Icons. How can I place them in an installable pack? As they are now, I have to save the images and then custom replace each one. I'd like to be able to switch back and forth when I feel like changing my theme.
I've been searching the forums and google for some help with this, but I can't seem to find anything that truly answers my question.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
On the plus side, the icons are coming out very nicely!

Thanks! It's a start! I use ADW so maybe there's a similar process.
i can suggest you a method to make a swappable theme.
Take an unused adwtheme.apk and edit it, changing the /res/drawable-hdpi .png icons you 'd like to use
Re-zip it and resign it (or simply drag an drop in the original apk i guess)
It worked for me. I can apply the icons using the adw option in themes, selecting iconpack only. And simply swap icons by applying another theme iconpack the same way

HI I have new beta icon pack & taskbar mod ready! for conversion to custom .cab update files!
I say beta because i still have work to do but not much 4 or more custom icons to finnish not a big deal my taskbar & icon mod pack is pritty much done
I know as much as you would love to see pictures im not in the mood to have anymore work stolen leeked from em ME!
xbmod helped me get started about to months ago & sead he could make the cabs for me if I made the icons wich are now completed!
the packs consist of totaly new defalt icons for default applications and taskbar dark theme
I dont know how to edit the light theme taskbar icons so I did not edit those!
I have made nice new marketplace icons full color but used the winmo6.5 marketplace icon as a starting point in the final verison i plan on
1 making full color wp7 marketplace icon
2 making new sms icon
3 making new linkedin mail icon
4 making new microsoft exchange mail icon
then i can relese final version
that is all I have left to do all other icons are done and ready to be converted to custom cab update files
I am not intrested in learning the making of custom cab updates and have much other inportent work and projects on my hands if someone could be so kind to do the convertions and send me the cabs for testing i would be very greatful

Can someone please point me in right direction, I did search and all the results are about icon packs.
What I need is app so I can put my designed icons and sell it on google play.
Also I need help about how to name the icons so they will be associated with their apps. I want each designed icon to be immediately named appropriately, I dont want to design them and then to rename 800+ icons.

Thank you. But that's too complicated for me, I don't know nothing about programming. I was thinking of some kind of finished product in which I would drag and drop my icons. I am willing to pay reasonable amount for the app license so I will be able to sell the pack on Google play store.

So I'm using the theme simple glass.and I want to make a few changes to the original icon set on the home screen. Since these are shortcuts, they point to an icon image but I am having a terrible time finding where they are stored. So if you can help with that that would be great. The follow up question would be: do most designers include a broader icon set or just the ones they used? Which would then lead me to ask where to find the rest.
I know these are basic questions but I am just starting down this particular road and need to get some beginner crap out of the way. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for your enthusiasm, and glad to have you on board. Themer's icons aren't really stored, they are built into the app. Frustrating but this is to prevent users stealing the icons that are from other designers.
For the icons, unfortunately the designer who created the icons has now removed them. After much searching, the only result we could find was this one here. The only problem is that it's a paid icon pack, and we can't guarantee that the pack will look the same.

Thanks Marco. I think I have it figured out. I am hunting through some icon sets for Everything Widget. Just need to find one I like. Great app!
