[Q] Which ROM? Viper4g vs superLTE - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Hey guys, I've been torn lately on which ROM i should run. I have run both in the past, but don't know which one I'd rather have. I hate switching back and forth every morning so, can you guys decide for me? Personally, which ROM would you rather run and why?
This isn't to start a war either, they're both great and have amazing developers which is why it's hard for me to decide. Thanks in advance!

mean rom :good:

Their both awesome roms, its just a matter of preference. With viper you get more mod options with super LTE you get regular updates. Try them both to see which you like better, but as far as performance i couldent decide if i had to, tbeir both great.

Ha, I've flashed this before but I wasn't too happy with the battery life. Great ROM though.

Thanks, I'm leaning more towards superLTE right now because of the music box mod.

right now I am running viperrom and is hella fast. what I am running is viper rom with means kernal. phone runs at a whopping average quadrent score of 6250 which is far better then I was running with mean rom I was lucky to get to 6000 with mean rom I did this by running system gui off the play store. and grabbed the kernal from that.

Out of curiousity, why are you fixated on these two particular roms? As i stated before they are both awesome. myself im running tranquility R5 which imho is top notch. Dependable, Fast and has some outstanding mods you can put together with their kitchen(the bistro). May be something you might want to consider. Just a thought.

What is the musicbox mod for those that don't know?

I'll stay with viper4g... superlte works great but i rather stay with a solid working rom and not having updates every week.. also the tweaks

It's an EQ extension for beats...lots of presets, much better than just "beats on/off".

Been on superLTE... My phone likes it very much. It's pretty fast and nice batt life. The only Rom I've had better batt life from is chubbs and sacs 4.1. I ran that for a long while and loved it. We have some serious guns over here dev'in for us!!!

Yes, I'm on milestone. I don't know how exactly to explain it but sometimes images and things disappear and look warped almost. I will upload a screenshot of it as soon as I can.

Well of these two ROMs I would personally go with Viper. I found it to be very quick and have a LOT of customization features (which hey, ain't that the point of a Custom ROM in the first place, lol).
I really could not find anything about Viper that would make me want to not use it, however currently I am on Mean (due to wanting to check out all that was available for our device), and while you did not ask I would HIGHLY recommend that you check out MeanRom ICS v6.0.

vote for venom4g
Reason :
1. Venom Tweak still the best ( for me )
2. Venom Daemon, i can set cpu clock without extra apps

I usually flash newly updated ROM's to check them out and always come back to SuperLTE/Milestone 1.Some little things in Viper and Mean that I can't get past. Everyone is and should be picky with their favorite ROMs. For me SuperLTE works fast and so smooth. Running Awesome Kernel.

Roms where everything works??

Im not really looking for spin offs of the stock rom, I picked up this phone yesterday and just got root going so im looking for any and all roms where everything works, preferably a asop build if there is one, (when i say everything I include 3d, camera, and wimax as i live in a 4g area) any advice?

You're not going to find an AOSP ROM with everything working, because there isn't one yet. I would suggest viper ROM, clean ROM, or mean ROM. I have been on viper lately and it runs great on my device.

flawless, and tons of performance tweaks...
or steelROM v.2.72....... i would say 2.73 but some people are having little issues with it so wait a little bit for steel and those guys to iron that issue out, but that ROM is always flawless as well.
eternity
what performance tweaks can i do with eternity rom???
bro I'm just gonna give it to you straight up here.... you can "tweak" any ROM. just try a few of them out because everyone's opinion will be different and more importantly they will be different than yours. give those two a shot in mentioned and go from there

[Q]Best Rom For EVO 3D CDMA

This is more of a question that will result in an answer that's an opinion. But I am wondering and completely open to ideas. I have used XPLOD and Eternity. But there's tons of Roms out there so I'm wondering which one would be good.
If you could please list the Rom a link and specifications.
Aka
XPLOD:[exampleXDAlink] 4G , WiFi ,3G, 3D , Bluetooth etc.
And a personal comment about the Rom. Thanks in advance

Exactly. You will find so many people that like Variable 'X' ROM, and other's that love Variable 'Y' ROM.
There are so many great ROMs out there. It's up to you when it comes to your favorite. Just try keep trying different ones until you find one that you love.
I love viperROM, MikRunny, InfectedROM Eternity, Warm TwoPointThree, MIUI. That's not every one of my favorites, but those are some.

AOSP PB9 from Deck. All working except Camera, 4G nad 3D. HW is about 90%, Wifi, 3G, BT, all is working very good. OC up to 1.94 ghz. Good ROM to try
Sense: inbREDed ROM is smooth and fast, MeanROM is another one. Both have all stuff working without problems. MeanROM is more stock look while inbREDed is a fully themed ROM, ledroid tweaks, 2 MPx in front forced. Also, OP is working on 1080p recording

The two ROMs I use:
Mean ROM: everything works. Uses the Ziggy kernel which is stable with great battery life. Very active dev (new release every few days) and very active user community. Has Beats working without the headphone hiss. This ROM looks mainly stock with some addons included or flashable.
Nocturnal Adrenaline: everything works. Uses the Anthrax kernel which is slightly worse on battery, but a little better in performance. Active dev (new releases about once every week or two) and active community of users. Less stock look since Leedroid tweaks are built in and some of the widgets and apps are inverted.
I flashed version a 2.2 ZR3D rom and it is great. Really sped my phone up!

X2. I am not new to rooting, but just recently finally rooted my Evo3D. Tried several different ROMs. I found that Mean ROM was very stable, very quick and snappy, everything works, and very active dev, as stated before. Many that use Mean are changing to the Anthrax kernel to go even faster, but the Ziggy kernel that comes stock on the ROM works great, and is a huge improvement over stock.
I AM looking forward to an ICS ROM that has everything working. Every time I try a ROM with something as a know issue not working, I think it will be no big deal to do without. Then I find that is the feature I miss the most. So I choose to stay with fully functional ROMs. Just my opinion...

What's the best ICS Rom available

What ICS mod is considered the current leader? I'm looking to flash my phone with one, but I'm not even sure what Rom to begin with.

Mwakious has the biggest fanbase right now and can be considered as a good dev with a good rom, though I'm not quite happy with the battery drainage when the screen is on. Somebody else was complaining about the same issue, but again, every phone reacts differently, so maybe you won't even have that issue ukno..

Most of the roms have both cores enabled which will cause that battery issue.
IMO if you're going to go with an ICS ROM, Cool ICS is the best. No dual core nonsense, the right amount of tweaks, and just a good normal ROM.

Ugh not again.
First we need to know if you are GSM or CDMA.
And second, there is no "best" rom. All roms are created differently, for people with different wants and needs. And every rom will run differently on every phone. So just flash one, try it out for a day or two, and if you don't like it, try another.

Don't know if you were leaving it open to all, but I'll answer anyway. Rom is great, but in an effort to increase performance, the battery life isn't there for me. I think Mikey was in the process of balancing battery and performance when the lte came out. Since he is waiting until the ota to update, I'll try it again then.

I am using the mikey's meanrom v2.4 and it has been real stable. I also used the zr3 rom, but it did not have polaris office build into it, and I needed that since I get emails with documents attached. Didn't see any reason to purchase something that is in the mean rom. The zr3 rom is more customized, where meanrom appears to be more stock to me, but that is just my opinion.
I had no performance issues with either.
Have fun!

Depends on if you like sense or de-sensed roms.
For sense I like CONROM and the OTA ICS plus rom from micromod777.
For de-sensed I like both of Neo's roms (fast as hell) or CONROM with the desense option in aroma installer.

For some reason I experienced a lot of lagginess with neos roms although I liked them a lot so I switched back to ViperRez I know benchmarks mean nothing but I couldn't break 5000 with neomax (antutu) and on viperrez I get a constant 6800 :what:

Big fan of Neo's latest Adrenaline here, including battery life, it also appears smoother than 1.6 and below but it does appear to be more sluggish than Venom. Having said that however my battery life with the Venom rom was horrible and my phone heated up a lot..never have the latter issue with Neo's rom or Nils' Business Sense 3.6 v5.7 rom for that matter (highly recommend giving that a shot too)
I highly recommend using ElipticRez by hawknest

If you really like Sense, and don't care that is still ICS, consider EclipticRez ReVamped v9... it is rock solid and battery life is respectable to great for the Rezound. It has always been my go to ROM for the Rezound when I get frustrated with the little things about KitKat that plague the Rezound
That being said, I heard the @REV3NT3CH found a solution to the camcorder problem in KitKat on the Rez?!?!? WTG bro!!! The final major hurdle has been overcome!!!

Maybe Ill give that one a try...but yeah Its getting to be time to retire this one..just need to figure out how Im going to pay for a new device and keep my unlimited. Im wating to see the new Sansung to compare it the the M8. Plus I was trying to maybe get a few more months out of it to see what the new sonys look like and maybe the Minis. The new phones are getting a bit big for my taste
GSM ROM?
Not sure if I should start a new thread or add to this one.... I'd appreciate any recommendations on the best ROM to use would be on the Rezound with AT&T. I'm currently on Neo's Tachyon 1.2 and I like it a lot, but when I've tried it with a GSM SIM previously I couldn't get outgoing SMS to work.
Thanks!
non sense:
【ROM】【4.4.2】【UNOFFICIAL】CyanogenMod 11.0【04-06-14】【GPL】【HYBRID】
everything but camcorder works.
battery is pretty good especially considering how much tethering i do.

Try everolv, when you flash the ROM, then flash the gsm.zip that you can download. It allows you to use GSM servers. Via I think a change in the build prop. Or a lot of new Roms I think have GSM...

Thanks pball, I installed everolv, it looks good. I should get my AT&T SIM in the next day or two, once that arrives I'll flash the gsm zip and report back how it goes.
About 2 weeks ago I installed Ecliptic Rez V9 on our two Rezounds and I agree wholeheartedly with it being rock solid. It has a lot of features to keep me entertained for quite awhile.

[Q] Whats the most complete Rom for the Evo LTE?

I know that the best ROM would be based on personal preference. What I'm looking for is the most fully functional ROM. I've been trying different ROMs but I work so much I don't have the time I used to. Any insight is welcome and greatly appreciated.

Roms
In my humble opinion, if your talking about the most features it would be the Charmaleon ROM, your able to theme quite a few things because of a tweak add-on he has in the rom. It's on the third page of ROM developement.

Haha just a little welcome humor. ViperROM is pretty customizable.

I'll second ViperRom or MeanROM, if you're looking at ICS ROM's. With JB ROM's the verdict is still out, but Viper's base JB ROM works pretty well, as does MeanBean (the ROM I'm currently running). Not to say these are by any means the best, just a handful of the few I've tried since coming to the EVO LTE. It's all subjective, really, since what's best for one user may not be best for another.

Cool. I think I tried it in the beginning before I started this new job. That was back over the summer though. I'm sure it's probably different. I'll add it to the to do list. Thanks.

Thanks for the input. I want to stick with a JB ROM but I travel so much with my job to places with horrible reception or Hotels with no wi-fi and then I get fc's or I start to loose certain functions and I have to go back to an older ROM. I think I'm going to designate a memory card to keep a few good ROMs on when I travel to nip it. I haven't tried Viper's base. I think that'll be my next ROM.

I'll put a third vote in for the Mean series. I've tried MIUI and CM10 recently, but I always end up coming back to the beauty of Sense. The dev on MeanRom and MeanBean is very active and has made it very simple to update to his newest version with an OTA updater.
That said, I am currently checking out the rEVOLTEd rom, with JB. I was particularly interested in how the dev used the AOSP vanilla version of Recent Apps switcher rather than the Sense version... The camcorder is not currently working, but it should be fixed in the next version. Other than that, it seems to be running very well.
Overall, there really are some great options out there for JB and ICS Roms.
meanbean is where its at!!

I've tried revolted. Good rom but I had trouble with my GPS signal and I use navigation often for my job. I've seen Mean ROM a lot so I'm downloading Mean Bean and Vipers JB ROM. Thanks for your input.
Thanks
Just want to say thanks to everyone who gave their opinions and input in this thread. I flashed Mean Bean and loved it. Problem was I flashed it wrong. Didn't upgrade to 3.15 firmware first. In the process of trying to do that I bricked, fixed, unlocked/ unrooted, upgraded, unlocked, rooted, and finally reflashed Mean Bean. I haven't had this much fun in a long time. I've been so use to dropping roms on a sd and flashing I forgot one of the most important things about XDA. READ Instructions before flashing new roms. Thanks again to everyone who commented and gave advice. You helped me find exactly what I was looking for.

You Sir are absolutely correct. My favorite so far.
I tried both meanbean and stock w/ goodies and I really like the fluidity of meanbean. However, the battery life seemed like it was better on stock w/ goodies. I also used rom cleaner w/ the no-sense option on both of the roms so i'm not sure if that contributed to better speed or battery life. I decided to stick w/ meanbean! no fc or errors for me and everythings been running great!
