disable lockscreen - HTC Desire X

For my son I bought a htc desire x, with stock rom android 4.0.4.
My son has a mentally deficient, so the phone must be as easy as it can be.
I have made one homescreen with only images with members of the family and with Desktop VisualizeR I made direct calls when he pushes the images.
The last thing I cannot manage is to disable the lockscreen. His fine motorics isn't good enough for it when he gets a call that he has to move the ring to the phone-icon.
So my question is can anybody tell me if there is a possibility to disable the lockscreen, so when he pushes the powerbutton the main screen is on and not the lockscreen?
Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry but i didn't find any way to do that, and maybe to make the phone even easier, is to turn on text-to-speech mode, so when ever your son will press something, the phone will say what the button dous.

[APP] Vibrate App

Does anyone know if an App exists that changes the volume setting to vibrate? I'm not asking for a toggle widget, I want an actual app. The reason is I'd like to be able to set my phone to vibrate from the Sense 3.0 lock screen and it doesn't allow me to install a widget. Ideally, I'd also like to have it lock the phone again after it has changed the volume setting.
UPDATE: I decided to make my own app that did this. The app will toggle the sound profile between normal and vibrate. You can launch it from the lock screen or anywhere else. I've attached it to this post. Please be easy on me as it's my first ever Android app.

I'd try phone silencer. Not sure if it'll suit your need though.

Try Audio Guru. If I understood you correctly, it should work for your needs
Neither of those are what I'm looking for. I want an app that acts like a widget. All that the app would do is change the sound profile.

Is it possible to have the app not unlock the phone when you use it from the lock screen?

I started down that path, but I opted to let it unlock the phone. The reason is that you have to press the power button to turn on the screen anyway. When I want to quickly turn on vibrate, I hold the phone with my right hand on the power, use my left to unlock with vibrate, then just power off the phone with my right hand. Make sense?
If you ask nicely, maybe I'll make you a new version that locks the screen
Great job, great app....thanks
So I'm having trouble finding a good way to lock the screen from my application. It seems as though only system apps have direct access to lock the screen. So far I've tried the following with no success:
Code:
KeyguardManager keyguardManager = (KeyguardManager) getSystemService(Activity.KEYGUARD_SERVICE);
KeyguardLock lock = keyguardManager.newKeyguardLock(KEYGUARD_SERVICE);
lock.disableKeyguard();
and
Code:
PowerManager manager = (PowerManager) getSystemService(Activity.POWER_SERVICE);
manager.goToSleep(0);
Any suggestions?

[Q] Camera on stock lockscreen?

Is there a way to put the Camera shortcut somehow on the stock lockscreen? I actually really like the stock lock screen instead of the standard AOSP slide to unlock setup. But what I miss is a camera shortcut...
My ICS ROM on my last phone had this, and it was very handy. I only needed it 1 out of 20-30 times I unlocked, but when I did need it I usually needed it ASAP.
I know app locker allows you to place widgets on your lock screen, never tried it but perhaps this is something you can look into?

Try Widget Locker. Paid app, though.

Sorry, bone head mistake, that's what I meant.
How about MILocker? That appears to be on the rom I have...
Widget locker is the way to go it can be found online of course or bought. This is my screen after fiddling around for a day with it.

You can install JKAYMODS onto your phone (I am not sure which version to install, as it came with SauROM... but if you flash that onto your phone, you can set it up), and you can set a custom lock screen with 8 choices. They can be any program. I have mine set to Spotify, camera, DI Radio, and a couple others. It works perfectly.
+1 to WidgetLocker.
First phone I've actually used it on, but it seems handy.

[Q] Removing Sense (kinda)

So I discovered today that when you remove the HTC Lock Screen apk in /system/apps the lockscreen becomes the default Jellybean lockscreen. This is great, as it gives you quick access to the camera and Google Now without having to put them into your dock. Plus I just like it more
The only problem is that when a call comes through, it doesn't show on the lock screen. You have to unlock the phone before you can see who is calling. Personally I find this a little annoying although I'm willing to live with it. I'm not even sure what that package is that controls this, does anyone have any clue how I can remove the Sense way of answering and replace it with another?
Thanks in advance! :highfive:
Well considering you still are on the factory sense ROM I don't think so.

[Q] Newb iPhone5 Convert - A Few Questions

Hey guys, I am a long time iPhone user and I got a Black HTC one a few weeks ago and for the main part, I am LOVE the change and really love SENSE 5. I have messed around with the Apex Locker and some awesome UI's but would miss blink feed and some other SENSE issues.
I do have a lot of smaller issues I am hoping to figure out (which may not be a big deal to some people). I was told to come on here and poke around and ask questions for some answers.
Email:
I LOVE the stock/native email APP and cannot use GMAIL for business; however many emails do not shrink to fit the window like the GMAIL app or on my iPhone. I am really hoping we can figure this out
Google Voice:
Works amazing with google products and Google now but I am having an issue integrating it with HTC apps or other 3rd party apps.
Home/Back Buttons:
As many now these do not light up until in a really dark room. I use my phone a lot at home with the lights dimmed while watching TV and they still do not come on.
Lock Screen:
The Lock screen requires a swipe up to answer calls, which happens a lot when I pull the phone out of my pocket (even with the stock locker and accessability turned off). I think I would like a different way (sideways) to answer a call and unlock the phone.
Bloatware/Stock apps:
There are a lot of ATT apps I do not want on the phone and do not want to use, but all of the HTC apps I do want for the most part
So.....You pretty much have a problem with every single function of the phone.
Google voice, don't know don't use it.
Email, don't know don't use it
Home back buttons, what do you need them lit up for? You'll learn where they are.
Lock screen, not gonna happen with stock lock screen. Use a different locker or flash a Rom.
Bloatware, unlock bootloader, s-off, recovery and root.
This is also in the wrong section.

Well my lights work so something isn't right with your phone ?
To try to help you fix some of the issues on your HTC ONE you can choose not to have the lock screen go to settings--->Personalize----> lock screen style and choose no lock screen. the back and home buttons light up when the screen is on push the power button on top. I never had that issue with the htc email client my emails fit to the screen but then again I flashed a custom rom on my phone. Not sure if that makes a difference tho.The bloatware you can uninstall go to your app draw and hold down the icon of the app and drag it to the top of the screen you will see uninstall drag it to there and its off your phone. I cam from an Iphone too and I also love the change. I am not sure if you are aware but if you have a google account and you sign in the app store will keep a record of all apps on your phone so if you want it back you can easily re install it. I hope that helps.
Just to clarify re: the bloatware, you cannot uninstall these if you're not rooted. However, you can disable the apps, which will also hide them in the app drawer.

I actually find the native emaill app to be pretty sharp, but unfortunately it's too limited in functionality to do all the things i want for my corporate email. If you are a heavy Exchange user, I would recommend getting Touchdown. It's $20, but well worth it for detailed functionality in Exchange accounts. You will sacrifice much of the aesthic of the native mail app, though I find the function to be a worthwhile trade here.

I haven't had this issue. Do you run your phone in power save mode often? This could potentially have an effect on the lights, though I doubt it. I've never seen issues with mine, so perhaps it's your unit

Not sure what to tell you here. I think it's just a function of Sense that you have to get used to. But I agree it can be a little tedious to deal with. I got used to it, though.

Just got to your settings > apps > all, and run down the list to disable as many of the att apps as you desire. most of them can be disabled, though none directly removed without root. disabling does the trick. you can also hide them from app drawer as mentioned above. I disable nearly all AT&T apps, among others.
Welcome to the One, it's a fantastic device. I have owned iPhones in year past but can definitely say you've made a great choice to convert. HTC has caught some slack recently with some tough financial times and sales figures, which is unfortunate because this phone is phenomenal. hopefully their big investment in (an odd Bob Downey, Jr) marketing campaign will help.

How can I determine what app a 3rd party screen lock goes to?

Hello!
My wife who seems to fill every byte of data on her phone with useless games and apps has got this super annoying screen lock which I cannot figure out what app it belongs to so I can remove the sucker!
This thing is so invasive! When she gets a call you have to swipe that locker and then go through no more than two advertisements before you even get to the native lock screen. By that time the call is long gone!
As an IT professional of 25 years I tell her to stop downloading everything that people say "Oh get this app ..." on Facebook!
I personally have never had the need to do something like this since I don't download garbage!
Any help is soooooooo welcome and very appreciated!
Regards, Dave
when the lockscreen comes up press the recents key and you maybe will see it
It's tedious, but you could look through the permissions of each suspected app. When you find one that has either UI Overlay or Lockscreen permissions, then delete it and check.

Thanks for the response!
While I was searching around for it the app crashed! YES! I had to school my Mrs. that a live wallpaper will never be 183mb, well shouldn't be. So the crappy apps name was Neon Butterfly. Now it's time to destroy it on the Play Store. Who ever was the dev for this was just getting paid for a stupid amount of ads.
Again, Thanks!
