Sedio 4,000 mAh battery cover - HTC EVO 3D

I have the Sedio 4,000 mAh battery for my Evo 3D. The problem I have with it is that it doesn't snap onto my phone properly, especially along the bottom. It doesn't fall off or anything, it's just cosmetically annoying, especially for someone with obsessive tendencies. Further, the power button is difficult to press.
I've read other reviews of this product and I've seen others have similar issues as mine. Is it worth trying to get another cover from Sedio in hopes it'll fix it, or am I just better trying for a better product?

I know with the power button I had to trim the inside of it a little bit.

Contact @seidioseidio on Twitter. They are very helpful and respond surprisingly fast. I've replace two with this same issue.

I know, right...the bottom almost fits, but not quite. Inside the cover where the battery goes is a
Foam piece glued inside...I suppose they expect the battery to get hot. Just scrape it off and the
Cover will fit Perfect

I did just that. Scraped the foam out so the cover fits then scraped around the power button and now it works great.

Sprint cheap feel?

Hi, I have a HTC Pro for sprint, I love everything about it except the battery cover and volume buttons.
The cover creaks, and makes a ton of sound if I try to use the keyboard, one corner is loose, and I believe thats where the sound comes from.
Also the volume keys are hard to use and they sound more like creaking plastic, I cant even tell when it is actually clicking.
Anyone else have this problem? Mine has been like this since day 1.
Any fixes?
I was about to say "Perhaps you have a defective machine, as I also have a Touch Pro from Sprint and have not really noticed this problem" and then I picked it up... top corner as in the back cover right behind about where "Sprint" is printed on the front? Mine actually makes creaky noises there, too... with a bit of push.
I honestly don't notice the noises when I am typing with it, simply because I'm used to keyboards clicking, and noises around me, but I do see what you're saying. I have no fixes to offer, since it seems to be manufacturing rather than a joint or something that could do well with a little dab of WD-40 or something. If the noise takes over my mind, though, you are totally to blame.
Just got mine today. It's very pretty. My first note after only a few hours of usage is the top panel/screen slides a bit to easy, the mogul was a bit more tight...
With some well placed paper, I took small pieces and folded it once, on the corners you can make the cover fit better. This has silenced the creak people are talking about.
Considering the backis a peice of plastic that flexes to lock in and come off,
I don't mind the creaking. I'd prefer this than over a heavy piece of steel
with screws holding it in. The phone is heavy enough as it is.
Sure the quality control isnt' fantastic. The buttons on the face are a little raised up.. but not enough for me to be picky about it. The phones nice, I like it, and i'm happy it's pretty darn good.
Mine creeks too...and the power/volume hard keys dont give good feedback and have minimal travel. I feel as though the power button will break soon, especially since it's used so much to wake the phone. The overal construction is much more beautiful than the mogul, but aside from the keyboard buttons, the construction feels more flimsy, and the slider not as smooth as the mogul.
The touch screen seems to be less sensitive too.
Oh well...it's only a very expensive phone...
My cover creeked pretty bad. I cut a business card to fit and put it under the cover. Problem solved.
i fixed this by putting blue painters tape in layers and cutting to the right size and adding one layer at a time and then putting the cover back on then checking the noise. i reapeated this till it no longer creaked. this is not my fix but posted by someone at ppcgeeks and i think i was linked from there too. but the painters tape has a smooth surface on the non sticky side and it helps the battery cover slip on easily and is easily removed if you need to. hope this helps. oh yea the area around the micro sd slot is the main creaking area on mine and i have heard others say the same. it took 3-4 layers there.

I used some thin strip electrical tape 2 layers on the right side next to the camera. "QUITE NOW"
I think its individual defectiveness. My phone creaks only if I put my ear 1 inch away from it when i press the Sprint logo, extremely unnoticeable. It feels much more solid than my last phone, HTC(PPC)6700, the side buttons are all solid and secure and respond well. No tape needed. If this happened to my phone I'd take it back and demand a new one as it retails for 550USD and that sort of defectiveness is unnacceptable. Although my 6700 retailed for 600USD and was much cheaper.
Mine also has a little creek. There isn't much i dislike about this phone besides the lack of working FM at the moment, and most importantly, the performance of 3d applications/games,videos etc.
I'll try the tape thing tonight.
Wow I don't know why I didn't think about putting something behind the cover. I was complaining that mine feels cheap, but I just threw a few post its back there and now it's nice a firm! thanks!
I ordered my first touch pro over the phone, and it felt SO cheap with all of the "symptoms" of what everyone has been saying, but for a different reason I had to exchange it, and the one they gave me at the store feels SO much sturdier.. I am glad I exchanged..

Looking for new OEM stock battery back door

Mine unfortunately creeks and I think that it has to do with the back battery door.
I would like to find a new one so I don't have to put paper behind it to keep it from creeking.
If you have one from a Refurb or anything like that please PM me as I would be very grateful to purchase this.
Pretty sure I've seen them on Verizon's web site. Not terribly expensive.

Thanks dudes, exactly what I was looking for!
$16 shipped is a great deal.
the only ones I could find were on ebay lol and are selling for 60$!

---and it seems like by reputable ebay sellers??
hopefully this will fix the need for some paper behind the battery to stop the door from creeking.
will update when the new back door arrives!
Eventually these things will be everywhere like the inc2 as the back battery doors actually come with refurb replacements from Verizon. I myself had 3 extras for my inc2 lol.
Just got my new backdoor in this morning.
100% fixed the creeking noise on my phone!!
very happy about that, I have however kept a few small pieces of paper behind the door as there was a little gap frop the back door to the battery that i could feel, perhaps this was on purpose for cooling of battery? idk, not sure but my battery hasn't gotten any hotter than normal.
I've swapped out 2 battery doors and I still have the creaking. I'm fairly certain the only phones that don't creak are the iphone and droid razr/razr maxx.
my first rezound creaked like crazy, then i had a replacement sent out and it was fine. pretty weird issue to have lol.
Just add some papers the size of the battery behind the door, works wonders.
The back cover/door for the extended battery is a piece of crap, and creaks like a rusty hinge all the time. So annoying. I finally got it to almost entirely stop by taking some sticky notes and cutting two thin strips on the adhesive part, and sticking them on the sides of the inside of the back cover, then sticking a little bit of paper on top of the battery. For mine, at least, most of the sound was coming from where you grip it on the sides and this solved it.
@HTC: It's annoying that we have to do this, please take more care with the design of it on future super-phones. Save the cheap back covers for mid-range/low-end phones, in my opinion. Lol.
Og droid had a metal back cover and didn't creak. I had a bionic, and it creaked

Mine doesn't creak at all.
Are you guys using some sort of death grip or something? Don't use the extended battery often but neither it or the regular door creaks.
Via Rezound using XDA Premium
No creaking here either.
Standard door does not creek at all. The extended one does a tiny bit on the right side, if I death grip it like someone above said lol. Not annoying enough to try and fix it.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
Both mine creek. The extended one creeks the worse that's for sure. It doesn't matter how you hold it. Not the biggest deal though since I don't use it too often. I don't seem to get that much more life out of it to justify the size compared to the standard battery.
KORM via the beast known as the Rezound.
I have an awful creak on the left side. I am going to try a bit of gaffers tape.
My extended battery door doesn't creak but is missing the Beats logo. I noticed they didn't forget the HTC logo..
Tape didn't fix it.
Any ideas?
I have two to sell I'll sell both for 25 with shipping.

reduce back cover creak

Not sure who has this problem, but my phone tended to "creak" when pressed at certain points. I decided to figure out why this was happening. Turns out the battery itself has a little more motion than ideal and the phone was making the creak noise with the back cover off when i pushed on the battery.
My simple fix was to cut out a few pieces of paper the size of the battery and put them between the back cover and the battery.
This makes the phone feel much more solid. I'm sure tape would do the same thing. The trick is to find the right thickness between stopping the noise and still allowing the cover to fit on tightly.

I haven't had the same issue, but on my first Dinc 4G, the back case immediately next to the volume rocker was slightly loose, and I could press on it and feel a similar creak to what you're talking about. I traded it in after a week because of a few other issues, and this new one doesn't have that same problem. I didn't do anything to try to remedy it, so I don't know the best solution.
theres now 4 inc4g ltes within my family lol.
the creek is only noticeable on two of them.
My solution to the creaky problem was to take the cover off and cover the little dimple thingies with electrical tape.
Works like a champ.

I take a more simplistic approach for all the phones i purchase and issue here at work. Peel off 3 of the small postit notes, stick it on the battery, no creaks, groans or otherwise irritating sounds.

former atrix2 owner looking at battery/case options

Yes I did search but most threads actually lead me to things I''ve already accomplished with previous phones.
Hello guys
I have a One X + and you're probably familiar with its battery life and the options for fixing it.
My plan is to do something similar to what I did with my Atrix2.
I cut the battery cover and the back of the otter box to allow a larger aftermarket battery. The outer rubber shell made this a very stealthy mod. My plan now is to achieve a similar outcome. My service is spotty right now so please forgive me for not posting any links or references.
You may be wondering why I won't just buy a case that uses the charging pin system. The reason for this is that in my line of work, mild splash resistance and good shock resistance is a must. The mugen actually appears to make the phone less durable overall . Ouch.
imagine you were to take a small rechargable battery and stick it to the back of your phone. The only issues now are finding a 90° micro usb cord and plugging it in and cutting a case to fit the battery behind it's outer rubber shell. You may think I would be better off with an otterbox and a flashlight/ powerdock. This is a great idea and I may buy one but this phone, like all very skinny phones, tends to cramp up my hand when typing, like now.
Actual question
If a battery was added (something along the lines of a small credit card shaped 2000mah battery) and the heat from it didn't get too dangerous for the phone (big "if) , would I not be actually ADDING to the life of the phone by primarily draining the battery pack and leaving it on full time? The phone would essentially be charging all of the time so it may actually be worse...
I'm going to move forward soon but I would love to get some input before I do from someone who knows a bit about batteries. The heat may force me to go with someting fully external but we'll see. The current trend of slim smart phones makes me think any batteries I buy that I don't use now will eventually be useful :/.
Thanks for reading all of that!!!
Onyx
second thoughts
I think, after much consideration, I have decided to purchase the toughest case I can find with a solid or partially solid back. I will then go the route of Velcro to attach a small to medium sided external battery to the back of the case. I've found enough rubber plugs and the like that I can splash proof a power pack pretty well. Also, I just dont think it's worth it to cut, pry and modify when in the end , the phone will still be charging instead of accurately reading battery drain.

[Review] ZeroLemon 8,000 mAh battery case review for Galaxy S20+

The ZeroLemon S20+ battery case is not for everyone. In order to fit 8,000 mAh of extra reserve battery power into a phone case, one has to accept the many compromises, such as the extra thickness, extra weight, more difficulty operating the phone with just one hand, and finding a more suitable place to carry the phone with you when going out. For longtime users of battery cases, none of these are dealbreakers. It's just something you expect and accept for being able to extend the battery life of your phone by days.
_____
*Pros:
-Great amount of extra battery life, good for gaming, heavy GPS navigation, and continuous video and photo-taking.
-Grippy and soft case.
-Mostly compatible with my Whitestone Dome TGSP.
-Easy to slip in and slip out.
-Wireless charging still works.
-Doesn't dampen speaker quality.
_____
*Neutral:
-Pushes up on the bottom-right corner of my TGSP.
_____
*Cons:
-None (for a battery case).
In my case, I've been using ZeroLemon battery cases for such a long time (Note 10, S10+, S9+, S8+, S7), I'm cool with all the compromises. Besides, I don't use the case all the time, every day. I only need it for those occasions when I'm going to somewhere where I know I'll be taking lots of pictures and videos, such as amusement parks and fairs. I also use it when I'm playing emulation games on the phone with a Bluetooth gamepad paired up.
As has been the case for a couple of years now, I'm happy to report that ZeroLemon continues to refine and improve the design and build quality of their battery cases year after year. The S20+ battery case is composed of two types of materials - a high density matte-black TPU component that makes up the top, bottom, sides, and camera lens portion of the case, and a smooth, grippy, matte-black portion that wraps around the battery on the back of the case. Both material types feel good in the hands, and any smudges or oils left on top can easily be wiped away.

All the buttons and holes lined up perfectly, and there was no decrease in speaker quality. Button presses do require extra effort, with the power button requiring more pressure compared to the volume up and volume down buttons. As a result, it took me a while to get used to taking screenshots on the phone. The battery case button on the back of the case is very clickity and responsive. A single click will activate the battery, and a 3-second hold will turn it off. Can't get simpler than that.
To my pleasant surprise, wireless charging worked just fine through the thick case. The phone doesn't get Fast Charged but it's definitely better than having to take out the phone from the case first.

When charging the phone normally from the battery case, it also operates in a non-Fast Charge way. Having Qualcomm Fast Charge would've been nice but since this isn't a powerbank that I want to disconnect from as soon as possible, it's not a big deal to me.
Having a glass screen protector is a MUST for me, and I'm very happy to report that the case is 95% compatible with my Whitestone Dome Glass. As you can see from my pictures, the case doesn't make contact with the glass on the top and the sides, causing no lifting. The bottom of the case, however, does make slight contact. Fortunately, that hasn't resulted in air bubbles forming but it did introduce a squiggly line on the bottom-right corner of my screen protector. That has been slightly annoying but on the positive side, I can't see the line when the screen is turned on and lit up. When I take the phone out of the case, the squiggly line disappeared.

All in all, I'm quite happy with the ZL S20+ battery case. It might be unabashedly thick and bulky, but it provides a peace of mind that I can get through hours of gameplay or heavy use of the camera without getting all antsy and nervous. Being able to do wireless charging is awesome, and I'm happy that there is no compromise to the speaker quality this time around. For their future battery cases, I wish ZeroLemon would make the bottom lip of the case a bit thinner in order to avoid contacting a glass screen protector. 9.5 out of 10.
Good review except it leaves out the most important part - the battery life lol
Thanks for your review, I too have just purchased both the case and protector and very happy indeed with it.
I had bought one of these for a previous device. After 4 months, it started to fail, refused to hold a charge, just started to not work. I contacted the manufacturer, and their response was not only surprising in their candidness but sad that they were selling them knowing this:
The case is meant to only last at a maximum of 6-8 months. They KNOW these cases don't work after that and stated it quite clearly in their response to me.
Since then, I've avoided this manufacturer of "battery" cases.
Nice
Zerolemon actually told me that the life expectancy of these batteries is about 6 months. What exactly is the point of carrying around what essentially is a massive case attached to the device then if it only lasts 6 months?
