[Q] Cyanogenmod Bootloader Locked - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

I have a question, I have a xperia S (lt26i), and I have allowed bootloader status "no", I have the generic 4.0.4 android world, but hey seen you can install the root cwm and also do not need the boot loader unlocked, having locked bootloader could install cyanogenmod 9?? or any way to get it having locked bootloader without having to flash the kernel?

If this was in the right section you would get your answer a lot faster as a lot of people now ignore question threads in the GENERAL section.

Nope you need an unlock boootloader to boot CM rom

Not yet would be the right answer as some people are working on trying to get custom kernel onto a locked bootloader as this is the thing stopping users with locked bootloaders have cm ://

I read somewhere that putting a generic rom 4.0.4 in specific and having locked bootloader cwm installed, you could install CM9, 9 not 10, because the kernel was compatible with CM9 and did not need to flash another kernel. And would have locked bootloader CM9 with and without flash kernel.

Its possible. You have to wait. check this thread, you can understand.

[Q] how to flash, backup, ROM's and EFS partition

Hi I recently bought the sony ericsson WT19i (Live), now I want to flash cyanogenmod but i don't know how. I read something about unlocking bootloader bu I can only find tutorials for Xperia range phone's also is there a way to backup my current ROM and EFS partition?.
I have alot of expirience with android so just some links should do.
Also is there a way to Re-Lock the bootloader?
You must unlock bootloader first. Then flash custom rom, and install cm using update zip.

Thanks but unlocking avoids warranty and no official updates. Is it worth it?
From what i understand with a locked bootloader you cant boot into recovery, right?

Ssory my english is bad. I am russian user.
With unlocked bootloder you can not oficially update you device.
You can install cwm to locked stok rom and boot into recovery.
Unlock bootloader only need to flash modded kernel.
after unlocking you can lock bootloader. Drm key's not restore

[Custom]Installation Problem[Help]

Device:-Wt19i
Rom:StockIcs.587
Rooted:Yes
Kernel:Stock
Boot-loader:Locked
Is it necessary to have boot-loader unlocked to install a custom kernel, mods, roms ?
when i install a mod via CWM my phone it goes in boot loop.
when i flash custom kernal flashtool says your device need to be rooted or something like this. {Though my device s rooted}.
when i install a custom rom[Real ics5.2] my phone is bricked just hangs at sony logo.
Thanks in Advance for help.
Sorry for my bad English.
English is not my native language.
No you must unlock bootloader to install custom kernels.
Some roms are for locked bootloader, too. These you can flash with cwm. But read carefully, what has to be formatted and wiped.
Look for roms for locked bootloader and you can install them. But ics roms must flashed through cwm when you are currtently on stock ics rom by sony. So root your phone like this to have root in ics and then flash any ics rom for "locked bootloader"
Thanks

[Q]About kernel

Why the installation of the kernel is through a tft file and not via recovery like other android devices?
Read my answer here.
It's not totally technically correct but that is the procedure in short
THeLogiC said:
nope sorry mate you cant do that.
Bootmanager can be flashed only by flashtool.
In Locked bootloader, the sony kernel is killed and than custom kernel starts after this process so we can flash it via cwm
In Unlocked bootloader we have to remove the sony kernel and load the custom kernel but on X10 its not possible with cmw/xrec

as far as i know its not possible for unlocked bootloader. you have to flash kernel via recovery in locked bootloader
I cant give more technical answer than that.
you can ask any dev
if you're into reading, then learn about kexec in wikipedia. in locked bootloaders, the stock kernel is temporarily overwritten by another kernel that has the kexec module. however in unlocked bootloaders that won't work. so for the time being flashing kernels via CWM is not possible for unlocked bootloaders. funniest part is i don't even own an X10.

[Q] Root[Locked Bootloader]Xperia Neo V with Stock ROM 4.02.A.0.62

Hi,
I am new in rooting android. Let me explain you all my issues in detail as I've been searching for long but didn't got any info regarding my case.
Scene:::
I never rooted my Xperia neo v.
I updated to Official ICS latest firmware. My neo was running fine for about 4 to 5 months (except it was laggy).
Recently, When I turned on the bluetooth , it got stuck in bootloop . So, searched and from the great developers help in this forum, I got the solution to Falsh my neo v with stock rom . I did and now I've 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Now,My questions are:::
Q1. Can I root my Neo V without unlocking the bootloader ?
Q2. I tried the Fastboot method but Android SDK Manager doesn't run on my Windows 8 64bit, tried to fix it too but it didn't fix. So any alternate solution to this method?
Q3. Also, When I check via *#*#7378423#*#*, it says 'Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes'.Does it mean I've an Unloackedbootloader?
And it might sound a lil stupid, But Please can I have the detail rooting solution according to my above questions?
Thanks all,
Akash
First of all there's no connection in rooting and bootloader.
Rooting is simply giving super user capabilities or allowing root acess, like admin rights in windows.which stock android os don't provide for security reasons.
If your bootloader is locked you can't install other kernels accept the default sony provided kernels, but you can root, install other custom roms like ihave zellycream v2.meanwhile in unlocked bootloader you can flash with custom kernel of your choice.
The message ur getting means you have a locked bootloader, which can b unlocked.to unlocking there are several methods..you can get by searching the forum.
About me I have a locked bootloader. And on zellycream v2 rom.

[Q] [Noob] Kitkat for Xperia P with locked bootloader in the near future ?

Hey guys, i am new here but reading for last few weeks, i was ios user but now got hold of xperia P from sony and very pleased with the phone.
I read and learned how to root, cwm and flash custom rom. Learned how to check is bootloader unlockable or not.
So my Xperia says No for bootloader which means that i can do everything except flash custom kernels ??? correct me if i am wrong !?
I flashed Honami custom 4.1.2 and it works great but i want kitkat 4.4, but as far as i see, its available only with custom kernel (which i cant flash !?).
So tell me could i expect in near future kitkat for stock kernel or do i sell this phone which i se great by the way ??!?!
Thx, and apologiez if there is similiar thread or wrong subforum. No hate please
Dejan
Nope.. You can't have custom kitkat on you phone with locked boatloader because it uses custom kernel...so, You can only flash roms that are based on stock rom...!
But there are some people claiming that they managed to unlock their bootloader despite it says no.. So, You could check those threads... But I don't recommend that as it could harm your phone..

What is the worse thing that could happen, i already had soft-brick and i fixed with pccomapnion software, could it be unrepairable ?
Actually I don't know... But it could get hard brick because you are doing what your phone is not capable of.. so... It's up to you to decide whether try it or not...

yes but Sources have leaked so won't it be possible to have a stock rom on Kitkat ?
or even use a newer phone kitkat on our XP like XPZ1 ?
I don't think we can run any custom kernel on locked boatloader..! That's why we cannot run kitkat on our phone with locked boatloader.. But I am just sharing my own view.. Because I really don't know if it is possible!
