The cool new "sphere" feature force closes on Nexus. I bet this will force close on our Note2 too.

Yes, and panoramic too, but it's interesting. The new quick configuration on screen it's very useful.

Nyarnon, are you able to grab the dialer and contacts from 4.2?

There's a fix for the force close error, but when I start the sphere mode, it says the n7100 isn't supported yet

This works, but I'm getting Touchwiz FC's which I've never experienced before, so until a fix comes built into the apk, we either have to live without 360 photo's or deal with "side-effects" from changing the prop.build

Works for me
sent with my beast N2, powered by Cis80 and Andreilux...

I applied the mod from Pocketnow
Also said that model was not supported. After applying the build.prop tweak it is working!
I'm not using touchwiz anyway, don't like it.
And pressed the 'Thanks' button by accident but can't remove my thank, so have fun with it

When using flash the camera seems to crash
Sent from my Note Dos (;

I flashed the one from Android Police (http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...gallery-app-with-new-ui-editing-photo-sphere/) and it works fine for me, however I can't seem to view photo sphere pictures in the sphere form after I take them.

it's work great, thanks!!!!!!!!!!:good:

Yes, there is a sphere fixed zip file you can CWM flash. Works fine with me after a Galaxy Nexus build.prop edit.
Although to view the sphere photos properly, you have to upload to G+.

Hi.
I have that:

[Q] photo sphere

just wondering, has anyone tried to install the new camera app?
i tried and theres no preview, but it take pics anyways, and photo sphere does not work
I also get no preview, just a white screen. Still takes pictures. Panorama fc's. Video creates unplayable video file, and I don't know if photo sphere works as the screen is all white. Gallery seems to work, but FC's on a couple editing options. Hopefully an easy fix. I'm on epinters cm10 (10/29) with 1300 oc.

Yes I already tried that. I would do more experiments but I'm in Maui on vacation atm. Get back Friday though so I can give it a look then. I assume at the least someone could take what they can from the new camera and make a hybrid.

Very interested to see if we can get this up and running. Does the Atrix have a Gyroscope? I cant remember but I got the impression Photosphere requires one.

Does anyone know of how I could get a gallery like the Nexus line of smartphones have?
I had a nexus before and that gallery has been the best I have ever tried on a phone. It's fast and very smooth.

Photosphere works great on mint jelly TW rom! Thanks a lot! Been waiting a while for this!
It's working without any issues on the stock rom without root. The only option that's missing is HDR. But, since stock camera app is still working side by side, that's not an issue anymore but annoyance . Anyway the photosphere also works fine.
So this camera apk is good for non root user on stock rom as well.

I just tried installing this on PACMan ROM and it failed. Are there any special steps I have to take to install it? Also, if it runs on CM10.1, then it wouldn't automatically follow that it would run on PACMan, does it?
Edit- Got it work. Had to delete the previous Gallery app, reboot, then install this one. Thanks for the new app! Seems to work better than the old one.
hi all sorry for this dumb question maybe it belong in the stupid questions thread but , what does this camera offer over the stock 4.2.2 camera ?
i didi have it loaded and uninstalled it about 10 min later , it seems verry basic to me , not many settings or options at all , and they layout seemed totally weird to me , maybe just cause im not used to it alot but i did find the settings in the camera but as far as 4.2..2 goes it has all the different shooting modes and alot to it , i'm just not understanding what this camera has over stock is all .

Thats because aosp doesnt have that function...and the google edition is an aosp experience so the feature doesnt exist
And the reason why its not uncluded in aosp is because there are no nexus devices with an sd slot...they build aosp for nexus devices, not the google edition phones
And im gonna guess the reason the "edit" doesnt work is due to some missing libs...ill look into it
EDIT: Actually able to edit from the camera...so I guess that is no longer a bug?

The Google camera is only good for one thing on our phones. That's Photosphere. (just my opinion) I'll use the Samsung camera for everything else but it is nice to have the Photosphere capability for both recording and viewing. The Samsung camera has many, many more features. I do love the new menu style on the Google camera. That is so easy to use.

Try renaming the gallery apks(/system/app/gallery4.apk and gallery2.apk) with .old at the end. Then try and install it. I had the same issue but once I renamed the apks it installed just fine.
One thing about this camera is it seems to lack a lot of options that even the 4.2.2 camera had. I like the simplicity of the aosp camera but I still like to tweak things here and there.
i usually do a lot of traveling and love to capture the beautiful surroundings keep coming in front of me .. i hope this app will certainly enhance my shooting by all the means ..
I just tried this on Eclipse rom and it installed correctly. The video camera is working also.
