How to falsh PACman ROM: Post #2 Thank Langes
0. Do I need unlocked bootloader? YES
1. I'm going to post my question without doing a search.
Fine, but you'll just get made fun of, or infracted by one of the mods who use this mod. Searching is the first rule of XDA.
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.

2. People have sometimes a bad attitude in this thread, or they ignored my question.
You broke rule #1, didn't you?
3. Why Youtube FC all the time?
Mabye it’s the latest youtube app problem. Try [APP] Youtube Apk For Ics/Jelly Bean [Version 3.5.5].
4. I didn’t hear music, ringtone, notification, etc. Why?
The steps for custom tones are:
create
sdcard\alarms
sdcard\notifications
sdcard\ringtones
At first time after the rom install if you choose rintone the ringtone is mute. Select one of the ringtones and press vol+ or vol-. The notification ringtone is mute too. Select one of the notification tone then press vol+ or vol-. The same relates to the alarm. I have only one alarm time, and my phone wakes me up every time.
In apollo if you play music at the first time, the sound is mute too. press vol+ or vol-..
5. I lost my custom ringtone/alarm/notification sound, why?
Are your custom sound int he right folder? See 4.
6. I don’t want a tablet look.
If you use pac 4.1.2 it doesnt have paranoidpreferences.apk (Search for any 4.1.2 PA rom, and extract paranoidpreferences.apk from it.)
The new 4.2.2 PAC has it, so you don't need to search for it.
Just go in setting/paranoid setting/apps select
Settings (com.android.settings) and change size to 240, layout 360px save, and hit ok.
select System UI (com.android.systemiu) and change to 240/360 px.
(setting and system ui take effect after you restart the phone)
If gmail/calendar and other apps are in hybrid mod, then change it to 240/360px too.
Or try this flashable zip: see original thread post 1519 don't forget to thank pluGinSz
7. Which gapps do i need? Can i use inverted gapps too?.
Yes.
Be sure you use the proper gapps.
for 4.1.2 roms you need "gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip"
for 4.2.2 roms you need "gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip"
Search xda for inverted gapps.
you can save about 30mb in the system partition by flashing the "Bexton" script (download here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?t=1831004) or you can modify justunbean's zip to remove the offending files...Bexton was good enough to list the files in his OP.

9. I'm on wrong baseband where can i find bb77, and how to upgare it?
I would like to update baseband from .70/.72. to .77,is necessary after update do something? Or is recommend to do full wipe (or maybe reflash ROM)?
The basebands are in sirkay's kernel thread. Thans to him!
Download from dropbox link the "ST18i_8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028G-77_baseband.ftf" Copy it to [C:/]Flashtool/firmwares folder. In flashtool select Flashmode, select de baseban ftf file. (Turn off the phone, press volume down when plug in the usb) Flash it without fota, unchecked all wipe and checked no final verification. It's only the baseband, so it affect only for network signal. After baseband flashing just start your phone.
you can also use BB85, download link Thanks Langes
I tried the bb85 and found bb77 is the best, but you can give a try too
10. Where is the kernel?
The kernel (boot.img) is inside the zip. Don't unzip it, just copy the "boot.img" to the folder, where you can find it.
If you use another kernel, be sure you downloaded kernel for right jb version.
11. Can i use the rom with other kernel?
Yes you can. Some devs made a kernel for JB. But remember, that if you use other kernel, you must probably falsh his own wifi modules. Read and search in kernel thread for possible bugs.
sirkay's xKernel: xKernel JB v1.0.2 If you use it, don't forget to thanks him.
Lupus kernel by wedgess: LuPuS-_-JB.img If you use it, don't forget to thanks him.
FlyKernel by thomas1991_12: Flykernel JellyBean. Working from P.A.C. v16 and up, older (e.g. v15) not supported If you use it, don't forget to thanks him.
12. I've flashed [MOD][ICS]Camera Mod v.4.4 Cybershot Experience /
[Driver GPU Libs] New JB Adreno Driver For ICS Increase Performance
As in the thread name is, both is for IceCreamSandwich. Please read the threads! If you found it's for ICS, so it's "maybe?" not compatible with JB rom. If you found for ICS/JB roms, then you can test it for your own risk.
13 . Play store fc?
I had the same issue with PAC 15 and Google Play. What I did:
-wipe cache
-wipe dalvic cache
-reset permissions
-re-flash gapps

14. Can I use the PACman kernel in another JB ROM (FXP CM10 for example)?
Yes you can. The PACman kernel has a good selection of governors and schedulers, as well as OC/UV capability. The Wi-fi is also quite stable when compared with similar JB kernels. For any marriage to work, the wi-fi modules found within the PACman ROM zip archive (in folder: /system/lib/modules) MUST replace those within the ROM you want to pair the kernel with. If you haven’t installed the ROM the you want to use you can drag (not copy and paste) the files from the PACman ROM folder to the new ROM folder before you flash it. If you have already installed the ROM you want to use you can drag the files from the PACman ROM folder to the root of your SD card, then copy and paste them to the system/lib/modules folder on your phone using a root explorer (like ES), making sure that the system is mounted and the permissions of the files once on the phone are set correctly (i.e. check they are the same as the files you replace)… Remember to unmount system when you’ve finished and reboot.

15. my sim card is not allowed to its own provider! does anyone know what to do?
You can manually restore the APN.
or you can try and restore the apns-conf.xml by flashing the attached zip.....
if it doesn't restore automatically after rebooting, go into system settings->Wireless&Networks->More->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names
hit the menu key and then select restore default (this is also where you would find go to manually restore the APN, except you would select add new APN) attachment: see post: 1287

I applied zip, but when I try to set up the apn's and go to settings --> wireless & networks --> more... --> mobile networks --> access point names it goes back to the main settings screen and so I can't set the apn's.
Make sure you turn off any sim card lock and then turn the phone off and on to make sure it is gone. Check to see if your apn sets up automatically. If that doesn't work make sure that your provider (including country) is listed in the apns-conf.xml (it is pretty legible if you open it with notebook+).

HOW TO USE FLASHTOOL?
Flashtool & Fastboot (XPERIADEV) or Ray Flashtool thread
HOW TO FALSH PAC ROM, IF YOU ARE A NEW ANDROID USER OR YOU UNLOCKED A BOOTLOADER FEW WEAKS AGO
Try this, slowly, carefully, exactly and in order.
1) Make sure you have a copy of the PAC ROM zip on your SD card.
2) Using Flashtool, install 4.0.4 in full, Do not exclude anything, all the wipe tick boxes checked.
3) Unplug your phone, do not turn it on.
4) On your computer, open the PAC ROM zip with WinRAR and DRAG boot.img to your desktop with your mouse. Close the ROM zip.
5) Holding volume +, plug your phone back in. The light will go blue. The Flashtool window will show connected in fastboot mode.
6) Open the Fastboot window in Flashtool and select kernel to flash. Pick the one on your desktop. Wait for it to finish (not long)
7) In the fastboot window, reboot phone into system.
8) Unplug the phone
9) The phone should start, if it doesn't then turn it on.
10) The PAC logo will appear. When the lights flash press Vol + and Vol - until the wobbly CWM recovery screen comes on.
11) do this from the menus:
Wipe data/ factory reset, then Wipe cache.
Go to advanced, wipe dalvik cache.
Hit back, go to mounts and storage, format system.
Hit back, choose zip to install, pick the PAC ROM from your SD card.
Leave the phone for about an hour alone.
Then install gapps from SD card using recovery. Pick reboot to recovery from power off menu.
You do not need xparts. The phone will go back into wobbly CWM screen. Choose zip from SD card. Choose gapps. When installed wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache again. DON'T FORMAT SYSTEM. Reboot.

Power saving
I added some lines to pac v16.1 build.prop to save more battery.
I maked it as flashable zip, so you don't need add lines manually to build.prop.
Download zip. Put it in sdcard root (or where you can find it on sdcard) Go in cwm, select "install zip from sdcard" select zip, reboot and enjoy.
This are the lines what i added:
Code:
# power saving
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
# Saves some battery without reducing performances
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=180
pm.sleep_mode=1
If you want to edit/delete some lines, or add your own lines just copy wechy.sh from zip, edit it with notepad++ (add your tweak line) copy back edited one into zip, and falsh it as i wrote above. Be carefull what you add to build.prop!
And of course: flash it at your own risk, i'm not responsible if you brick your phone... etc.
Hit thanks if i helped you.

5. Download rom from original thread and download gapps from original thread too.
6. Copy untouched zips to sd card root.
7. Turn off your phone
8. Plug usb into Pc
9. Hold volume up when plug the other end of usb cable into phone (led lights blue)
10. Run flashtool, hit the lightning icon and select fastboot mode
11. Flash kernel YOU MUST SEE: "OKEY"
12. Disconnect usb cable
13. Turn on phone, go into recovery
And follow post #2 How to Flash PACman ROM (first time)

Battery saving tips:
1. See what's sucking the most juice. Navigate to Settings > About Phone > Battery Use to see an organized breakdown of what's consuming your phone's battery. Applications and features will display in a descending list of battery hogs. If you see an application you barely use or a feature you never use, uninstall the app or turn off the feature.
You can download BetterBatteryStats from xda
2. Turn unnecessary hardware features off It's great that today's phones have 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, but do you really need all four activated 24 hours per day? (Use toggles and enable/disable it)
3. Dump unnecessary home screen widgets and live wallpaper. Just because they're sitting on the home screen, seemingly inactive, doesn't mean they're not consuming power. That goes for widgets that poll status updates in the background, as well as ones that just sit there but look pretty and animated—not to mention animated live wallpaper.
4. Screen rotation - use with toggle. enable it, if you really want to with toggle
5. Google play store - Do you need realy that google play looks for updates in 24 h a day? Or you can check it manually when you are at home with wifi?
In playstore settings disable Notification, Auto-update apps, Auto-add widgets and Google AdMobs Ads.
6. Are you 0/24 on net? Enable with toggle only 2g, and disable it, when you use internet browsing mail download etc.
7. Keep an eye on signal strength. If you're in an area with low signal strength, the phone will work harder to latch onto a strong-enough cellular signal. This has an adverse effect on battery life. If your phone switching all the time from 3g to 2g, then you shoul enable only 2g, then the phone doesn't look for 3g network.
8. Most of widget/apps has a update time chooser. Set weather widgets/apps update time to 1 hour.
9. Sometimes i use Google maps, but location is off by me. If you dont want share you location with others then disable it in setting (so the phone does not attempt to determine your place on the basis of transmission towers)
10. I'm almost certain, that after turning wifi off the battery drain is much higher than normally...
justmpm I think this is pretty normal...it will depend a lot on how you set up you 3g/2g settings. Syncing, location tracking, and google maps can all really burn up the battery. If you don't want to fiddle around optimizing every little network app....you can use something like Green Power from the play store. You can set this up to turn off the wifi and data network when the screen goes off....the good thing about Green Power is that you can set it up to wake up every so often to sync your emails, facebook, and whatever else you want. When I have it installed, I usually have it off for 15 minutes and then turn on to sync for 1 minute (it will keep the network open until all the traffic is done, so it won't cut things off if they take > 1 minute to download). I think the default setting for this is off for 5 minutes, on for 1. Even these settings can really extend your battery if your wifi or 3g/2g networks are causing a lot of battery drain.

That's a solid enough guide I'd say but sorry just one more thing I can think that might be valid to add if I may;
Before going to say about adb for flashing screen recommend a fresh install first as that is much easier for the user to do if they just done it than read and learn all about adb. Just a thought but good guide, please delete this post if its considered as spam or not relevant.

If they install SDK then they should be able to just type that command in cmd

In fact you can change as follows (at your own risk)
1. Use Root Explorer to delete \system\media\bootanimation.zip (or replace with your own)
2. Copy framework-res.apk from \system\framework to sdcard
3. replace the following image files in framework-res.apk (I use total commander) with the stock image files:
i) android-logo-mask.png & android-logo-shine.png in assets\images folder
ii) default_wallpaper.jpg in res\drawable-hdpi folder
4. Copy framework-res.apk from sdcard back to \system\framework folder
5. reboot
Thanks, will this to my thread.

Thanks dude, worked a treat with Mr Rusch's X10 Mod Tool and 7zip.
Installed and seems to be working fine aside from the screen flickering which I can't seem to get rid of. The ADB thread has a link for android SDK which seems to be out of date because it no longer links to a download. I can't figure it out otherwise. Anyone wanna help me get rid of the screen flickering?
Reinstall the zip via xRecovery, jusy as you did the first time you installed FreeX10.

Yes the alarm app is working fine without any issue , i have been using since 4 days and if you have any issues with alarm, their are thousands of app available for alarm.
restore of "productive" data from 2.1

thanks to you for this info, many things became clear after this!
what I woulk like to discuss is to restore data (contacts, sms, apps settings) from previous (2.1) version. may I use titanium backup ? will then all custom data & apps & settings work as in 2.1 ?

Yes, you can restore data with titanium, but I recommend a fresh install of all your apps.
The only thing I restored with Titanium was my SMS/MMS.
Contacts and calendar synced with gmail.
The other apps was a fresh install from market.
That way i'm sure no junk from 2.1 will mess up my freshly installed 2.2 rom
But sure you can, if you want, restore most of your apps and data.
Maybe just me that want everything fresh

But make sure you disable your SIM PIN code.
If your phone reboots during the night I'm not sure the alarm will work if the phone asks for PIN.

[Q] HElp HElp HElp!!!

Hey plz tell me in detail how do i install custom rom (most stable with excellent performance) in my lg p500!!!
plz answer in detail including how do i wipe sd card and all
THnx in advandee
Have you rooted your phone?
Well I'll assume that you have an P500 with v2.2.2, Stock Rom Untouched.
Firstly you would want to root the phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
Download Gingerbreak
- Make sure USB debugging is enabled(Can be enabled through settings)
- Make sure you have an SD card (formatted and) inserted
- Place the app onto the root of your SD card
- Open the APK, press the root button
- Wait a few minutes. If there are no problems, the device will reboot (note that the reboot itself can take like 10 minutes due to cache wipe)
Congratulations the phone is rooted.

After rooting your phone, you must have 1) Recovery Installer
2) Terminal Emulator (Free from market)
3) The Custom Rom
I recommend FranciscoFranco's Rom as it contains excellent tweaks without hassle of flashing many files which may cause your phone to brick.
Recovery Installer, You can get it from: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11987571/quick/recovery_installer.rar
when you have everything, lets start
1. extract contents of "recovey_installer.rar" to the root(meaning the base) of your SDcard.(it contains 3 files, so you should also see 3 new files on your SD card).
2. open terminal emulator, enter these lines(press enter after each line):
Code:
su
sh /sdcard/rf.sh
just wait and this should reboot you directly to recovery.
3. now in recovery(remember: "vol + and - button" is "up and down" "menu button is ok/select" and "back button" is back)
Congratulations, Your Recovery Installer is installed.
Now, You can get FranciscoFranco's Rom which is called Devoid from
here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049518
Download franco.devoid and the kernel.
Go to recovery boot
1.Select Wipe and Wipe everything and that includes data+factory settings, cache, system, .android-secure and sd-ext partition (if you had it already)
2. Select ext partition and choose either ext2/3/4 : 512mb,swap:0
3.Toggle usb connection and place devoid.franco and the kernel zip files onto your sd card.
4.Select flash and flash devoid.franco first then flash the kernel. You do not need to toggle signature verify as it should have signatured. If you are a ***** then carry on and toggle signature verify.
5.Reboot.
Enjoy

There's an option where it says "wipe" when you are in your recovery boot you should enter that category and wipe what the developer says.
Also there should be a guide of how to flash cm7 onto your phone in the thread itself
There shouldn't be any problem .
Do you mean you do not know how to enter recovery boot menu?
If so, open your terminal emulator and type
su
reboot recovery
It will reboot your phone to recovery boot.
Then wipe what the developer asks you to wipe,
make the partition on your sd card wether its ext2/3/4
Then flash it.

Agh! what am i doing wrong!??

Hi everyone.
I'm really sick of this phone (X10 mini pro). right now no matter what i try and flash to it using xrecovery and update.zip, i reboot and always find that i'm running the same old system - like as if i've done NOTHING TO IT AT ALL!
I tried flashing this (which is what i really wanted):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041099
Nothing, reboots into stock.
I then tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059361
Also no luck.
What am i doing wrong!? I download the rom, extract (System, META-INF and/or any other folder) and then i install any hotfixes by dragging and dropping/replacing files.
I then zip up the system and meta folders (plus anything else ie: Data folder) to update.zip, then install via xrecovery -- which does so fine, no warning messages -- then i CLEAR cache or format data (if instructed) and reboot.
As far as i can tell, i'm doing NOTHING wrong and it's extremely frustrating. Everytime i reboot i'm greeted with the same old setup wizard, same old theme, same stock "About Phone" details, as listed below:
Model Number:
U20i
Firmware Version:
2.1-update1
Baseband Version:
M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernal Version:
2.6.29
[email protected] #1
Build Number:
2.1.1.A.0.6
What is going on???
Have you tried not renaming the zip file and flash it as it is, then flash the hotfixes next?
Maybe what you added or replaced caused the flashing to not work at all. For me when I flash a big rom it'll take about a minute. If it was flashed and you don't even see it copying files then it must have failed.
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
Choose custom zip, navigate to the zip file location in your sd card and confirm flashing it. Must work. I bet you flashed the "update.zip" which doesn't exist.
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
Thanks for the quick reply guys.
Unfortunately i've tried both these methods and i still get the same problem. (I just tried both methods again to be sure) Xrecovery just states "Copying files..." then within about a minute or so, it tells me it's "Completed"
Just for the record, i did buy this phone used (and "unlocked" to any network) would that somehow have something to do with this?
I've also tried a factory reset using the PC companion from Sony (then installing a rom) even after that i still get this problem.
Frustrating, very frustrating.
Ok, so i did this all over again:
Step 1.
Reset phone using PC Companion
Step 2
Setup Wifi using the wizard
Step 3
enable usb debugging and Unknown Sources (both under Applications)
Step 4
Connect phone via usb, transfer over Xrecovery, update.zip, etc. Then UNMOUNT SDCARD.
Root phone using S1C, install busybox during then reboot.
Step 5:
Setup marketplace account & Download (provided i get past that rediculous "downloading.." hang bug):
Busybox Installer, once downloaded, double click icon and install
Download and install Root Explorer
Step 6:
install Xrecovery manually using Root Explorer, placing it's 3 files in \system\bin
step 7:
Connect usb, transfer over update.zip, reboot and enter xrecovery
Now, guess what? XRECOVERY won't even start when i hit the back button when the SE logo appears!
One problem after another, about to give up. Really not impressed.
Do the following at your own risk
> Before you start make sure you have
- Root access
- Busy box and terminal emulator (you can get this from the market) installed
1. Download this script http://www.mediafire.com/?yw2a3r2didpb51t
2. Extract the folder called AAIS and rename it to "aais" (without the quotations)
3. Copy the aais folder to sdcard
4. Open up terminal emulator and type in the following commands
Code:
su
Click on allow when superuser dialog pops up and then type
Code:
cd sdcard/aais
Code:
sh install.sh
A list will appear, type the number which installs xrecovery and press enter
Once the phone has rebooted
1. Copy the zip of the rom which you want to install straight to the sd card (Do not rename it, extract it or do anything to it)
2. Copy the zip of the hotfixes straight to the sd card (again do not rename, extract or do anything)
3. Reboot phone, when it reaches "Sony Ericsson" press back a few times to boot into xrecovery
4. Using xrecovery do this
- Wipe cache partition
- Advanced option > wipe dalvik cache and wipe battery stats
- Go back to xrecovery main menu and then click on factory reset (full wipe)
4. Then goto install custom zip > choose custom zip from sdcard > and then choose the rom zip. Let it install
5. Once rom is installed click on choose custom zip from sdcard > and then choose the hotfix zip.
6. Once installed go back to xrecovery main menu and reboot phone
Hopefully should work

Thanks for this post, exactly what i needed. Tis much appreciated.
I did what you said, word for word, and everything went smoothly. Xrecovery booted up fine and installed everything fine.
Unfortunately, this has failed to resolve the problem. I'm totally clueless as i'm sure most of you are. All i can say is it's not user error - i've not done anything wrong or missed a THING. I've really followed as you instructed word for word (as i did with previous attempts) and i still got nowhere. I've now spent all day trying to resolve this and still with no luck.
The only difference all of this ever seems to make is i'm constantly bothered by popups saying "X application has failed" etc etc now. It still just boots into the regular OS like as if nothing has happend.
Download this file, do not extract it, copy it straight to your sd card:

it wont delete cause of permissions. I use root explorer for this kind of work. In this particular case i had deleted the nececary scrips from the flash zip and i flashed afterwards. (i had a clean install)
I am trying the clean install as well, can you give the instructions or point me to somewhere where I can read more about this, thanks for your time and effort.
Do I just delete it in the Devoid.Franco v5 zip before flashing and then restart the process (the only file that I can find is tweaks.sh)
Sorry, found the init.d file as well. Would I delete those files in the zip, rezip and then start the process over?
you just delete them from the zip and you flash it as usuall. just dont forget to disable verification check on your recovery or else it will give you error
Sorry, just a newb when it comes to this.
I couldn't delete the two files from the devoid.franco.v5.zip file so I did the following:
1. Extract the zip file
2. Deleted the two files
3. Rezipped the files into a new devoid.franco.v5.zip
4. Load the zip into the micro sd card after all the wipe and partition
5. Disabled Signature check
6. Tried the flash and it said it can't open the zip because it's bad :-(...
This can't be that hard when all the other kernels was easy to install...

Extracting a zip and re-zipping it DOESN'T work. You are not supposed to unzip the file. Just flash the rom, delete the offending files using root explorer, and then flash the kernel.
Sent from my LG Optimus One P500 using XDA App
You should't extract the file and rezip it. It corrupts it when it comes to flashing. I personally browse the zip file with winrar and simple delete the files i need. I also add files to zip this way like apks, ringtones etc
Trying winrar and it seems to work, gone to see if I can finish the entire process. Thanks so much for your time again. In the future, can I send the apps that I want directly into this zip? I can to sue something zipsigner before to get calendar, etc... Thanks again!!!
An alternative way for a clean install:
1: wipe everything
2: flash devoid.franco.v5
3: reboot (to check if everything is ok)
4: reboot into recovery
5: mount /system partition under 'mounts and storage' (clockworkmod)
6: from pc type (with phone still in recovery): 'adb shell'
7: in adb shell, type: 'rm /system/etc/tweaks.sh'
8: in adb shell, type: 'rm /system/etc/init.d/00script'
9: flash franco.kernel.v14
10: reboot
I Hope it helps,
Bye
You're welcome m8.
And yes you can have the apps you want inside the rom this way very easilly. just put them in app folder. I did this with some removed apps like browser and calendar and also removed zeam launcher and used adw launcher (personal taste) I even tried that with frameworks (aka themes) and it worked great
Thanks so much to both of your posts, it's working. One last questions, thought setcpu was already implemented in this kernel, but I don't see it anywhere? Again, thanks again for everyone's time and effort, learned so much today (wife is mad though because we need to do house work, lol, lol, better get going)... She said, "who formats their phone 5 times in 1 month, lol, lol"
setcpu is NOT included, you have to install it.
See first post in franco.kernel thread for the link.
Eh! eh! you are not in Europe, I guess if you have to help your wife NOW!!!
Barcelona-ManchesterUTD right NOW...
oh yes the wifes. my gf gets fustrated like "wtf are roms and kernels?? its just a phone!!! you call people and they call you back" rofl
One last note on setcpu. When i was using last version (2.13), every time i rebooted my phone the settings where gone and had to set them again. I switched to v2.1 and it worked like a charm. Have no idea if that is general issue or only me had it. Just thought i should tell you
Done via editing the zip with rar and all worked smoothly.
Thx all

i'll try this and report back later....basically just install from cwm recovery right? need to wipe cache and dalvic?
benz, i've installed the rom...unfortunately, the nfc failed to load....dialog box keep popping up with message "unfortunately nfc service had stopped"....had to restore nandroid backup.....hopefully this can be resolved..
Go to root explorer, navigate to /system/app or /system/framework and delete any .odex files you can find in there, but first give me the names of all .odex files in there.
Edit: I think I've found a solution.
Flash Odex-remove_I8190N.zip attached below and report back.

Thanks. I accidentally removed the string for S-Beam in res/values/strings.xml.
It'll be added again soon.

Flashed it without an issue, but for some reason it gets stuck on first page of setup wizard. Every time I click next it crashes and restarts.
Any advice for that?

try follow this sequence :
1-install the rom from cwm
2-install the odex zip file
3-reboot and set up phone
4-reboot recovery flash the cwm setting....
mine got stuck several time in the samsung initial setting.....the select language to be exact....
You don't have to flash Odex-remove anymore because the script now deletes /system/app and /system/framework directories.
Wait I'll update the ROM again
