[Q] Bad call sound quality - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there,
As the title says my SGS3 phone has problem with calling sound quality (the person at the other end sounds like garbage, like a bad walkie talkie). This started with a random call, and after I answered it the sound just „exploded”. I barely understand the interlocutor.
What's interesting though is that not all my phone calls are bad. I mean I only got this problem on random phones, but when I try to call a service from my country, like 411, is always the same bad sound.
I'm using custom RonenROM and Siyah Kernel. I also have Omega Rom installed on my secondary boot partition, but I didn't experience that issue there. Though I can say that I'm not using second rom so often, so maybe there wasn't enough time to trigger the problem.
I also want to add that I experienced the same problem a couple of days earlier when I fresh installed RonenROM for the first time, so after that I reinstalled it and also used SiyahKernel, but the problem reappeared.
I don't know what to do anymore, I googled this problem but never found a solution for it.
LE: Sorry for my bad english, but it's not my main language.

Check /search the calling sound quality posts.
Wipe phone and install correct stock rom .

[Q] cant anser the phone.slide wont work

i have the galaxy for 5 monthes now..
switched tons or ROMs and kernels.
since i tried the 2.3.5 androidmeda(i think it started there) i have a problem answering my phone.
when someone call me i can slide it right in order to answer, the phone stop the ringtone like i answered but i cant hear anything hile the other side think someone answered him as he doesn't hear the tome anymore.
i tried to go back to KG5 but i cant get rid of it.
it got better as i changed the modem(used to be on KI4) to KE4 and KG5(the rom im with right now but its not good.i can answer but it takes 5-10 seconds before i see the call screen and able to talk properly.
tryied androidmeda, cognition, batista, xpower(the used to be),villain and so. none helped so i guess its not ROM related exactly.
Maybe some data was changed (such as the opening after trying androidmeda-the white turning cube and the android character insted of the samsung s 2 pic).
i tried various MODEMS in order to solve it but no progress yet.
anyone familiar with this problem?anyway to solve it?
Sounds like a hardware problem more than a rom problem. You have tried all them custom roms do its quite odd. Id say trying to go back to a full stock rom if you haddent already and maybe test out other voice features on the phone like voice record and the google voice search thing.

[Q] [crDroid 15.2] SecPhone.apk is mute after reboot

Hey guys,
i really really need your help, i´m running out of ideas over here
A few days ago i installed crDroid 15.2 on my Galaxy S3 (amongst other things i chose the boeffla 3.10-beta2-Linaro-kernel and a modified SecPhone.apk during the installation with AromaInstaller). I did all the configurations and was pretty happy to eventually have found my perfect custom rom. AutoRecord, no-delay etc.: everything worked very well until i had to reboot my phone for some reason.
Problem was now that i couldn´t neither hear the caller nor the person i called (in fact there hasn´t even been a dialing signal before the connection was established, everything mute from start to the end) while they could hear me perfectly fine. Trying the speakers didn´t work, too.
Making calls with Skype worked, though, and every other "sound producing" app was able to do so. I also could hear the "call signals" (i have to translate here, in german it´s called "Anrufsignal"), but not the actual dialing signal. By call signals i mean the notification-sounds that you can set to know when the connection is established and closed again (there was a third signal, too, i think it was a beep every minute or so...).
Long story short:
I tried to reinstall with a new Kernel (non-Linaro, Stock XXEMB5), unmodified SecPhone.apk and another modem in different combinations, but that didn´t do it.
Even a hardreset (which included a system- and SdCard-wipe, so mobile was superclean) followed by a reinstall didn´t work, the problem persists. Phone works fine until first reboot.
Now i got back to a rooted stock rom (filename: I9300XXEMC2_I9300DBTEMC1_I9300XXEMC2_HOME.tar.md5) and experience no problems so far, but i really appreciated my (nearly) perfect custom rom and would prefer to use it as soon as possible
I already tried google and the search on this site, but it seems that nobody else ever had similar problems, so you are my last hope to make it work :/
Thanks a lot for your help

[Q] Omega 50.1 rom question

Hey guys, i'm new as far as posting on the forum is, but i have been flashing ROMs for quite a while now. Now, i have a peculiar problem that should probably be shared on Omega ROM thread, but as a newbie i can't post there, so i'll try here...
I started having problems as soon as i flashed Omega 50.1, when in call, and putting that person on the speaker, as i often like to do. Usually, it doesn't take more then 20 seconds to lose the connection, and both me and the called person get the squelchy noise. Now, when i flash the ROM it works perfectly, so i figured it had to be a Modem, one of Mods i'm using, or perhaps the Moto theme. After flashing (full wipe) several modems and Moto theme, everything was fine. Moving on, as I use a few Mods that can be downloaded for the ROM, and after installing and testing each and every one of them, it seems that when i install Modded Camera 1.52 the problem with speaker noise comes to life. So when modded camera installed, you can't put a caller or a person you called on a speaker without losing the connection and getting weird noise out of speakers.
Having this in mind, can someone try to replicate the problem, cause to me it really seems it might be a bug.

first thing never flash more than one mod at a time. Always reboot when you flash any mod. Now what you have to take out the camera.apk from the omega rom zip file and put it in your preload/symlink/system/app by replacing the modded camera then set oermission and reboot. Hope it works otherwise reflash the rom again.
Good luck

Android 4.4.4 Strange calling Problem on Xperia U

Hello,
I got a very strange Problem.
When People call me, i can answer without Problems, even that wasnt since i started using android 4.4.4, but it started working when i smallered the dalvik cache and used low-ram attribute in build.prop.
But another Problem keeps:
I cant always call other people. I tip on the number, the phone app should open, but the Display keeps gray, with the status bar above, not more.
I cant cancel everything, the Phone seems to be fully crashed, but the guy gets the call, if he answers it, he hears me but i doesnt hear him !!!
So if i wont remove the battery fast enough, i also will pay for this call.
Anyone Problems with this behaviour ?
I got this Problem with every 4.2++ rom i tested, and i really dont know if it still persists with 4.1, because there is not really a rom which i would stay on (except the original ported xperia Z rom, which really sucks in design, apps, settings, etc)
I mean, am i the only one ? I think others should have this problem like me too, its a normal xperia U and i flashed the roms like they should be flashed.
I didnt found anything while googling, even on this side.

Calls always on speakerphone, regardless of state of button.

My calls are always on speakerphone, doesn't matter if the speakerphone button is on or not, I don't believe this is a hardware problem even though my screen was replaced a few days ago, I mean how could it possibly be. I can't be the only one with this problem, I have searched everywhere, seems like I am. I'm running stock (rooted) so I don't believe it is a software problem either, I have tried rebooting and clearing cache so far.
Details: Stock E2303 MM Rooted. Only thing that could be screwing with audio is Viper4Android, and I uninstalled its drivers already. Also the headphone jack is dead if it matters.
Sorry for creating thread ahead of time, but the problem has been fixed by flashing stock using Flashtool, incase someone has the same problem.
