Exit! Stage left!! Goodbye to the Prime world!! - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I purchased an Asus Transformer Prime TF201 about 6-7 months ago... and honestly, this device has been amazing... yes, may people faced problems with their Prime, but fortunately I wasn't one of them.
And then the AndroidRoot team released the nvFlash hook and I couldn't ask for more... but I did get more...
I'm no great Android developer... in fact, I'm pretty new to serious Android dev work... but I've achieved a lot over the last few months... This is the first time I've ever done dev work like this ever (I've only done mods before)... I know so much more and I've been fortunate to have received so much positive feedback from the community here!! I really appreciate it!!
But a few days ago, Google announced the Nexus 10... and I could not help myself... to me, Nexus devices are like the Holy Grail!! I love the Prime, but getting a Nexus device out-weighs anything!!
So I decided to sell my Prime and get myself a Nexus 10... I have received and offer and finalised a deal and will be getting shipping out my Prime very soon!!
I hope someone can take over my work (hopefully the XDA Recognised dev who decided to buy my tablet) and get this merged back in CM10, AOKP & Blackbean...
So here's wishing you all the very best with everything!! You guys have been amazing!!
The best quote which sums up my experience with the Prime & the Prime community is: "You never leave someone/something behind, you take a part of them/it with you and leave a part of yourself behind."
It’s all said and done, it’s real, and it’s been fun!!

Just want to say thanks for all you have done for the community.

Hey man don't be sad about leaving the Prime world. I'm sure that Nexus 10 will be a great device for you. To everyone reading this post, I'm the guy that will be purchasing the Prime from Craig. And I DO plan to continue his work and make sure great ROMs for this device

Thank you for your work, your cm10 unofficial nightlies made my prime work as it was supposed to do from the beginning, and you have been very kind and useful to me when i asked you something in your threads. Good luck with your development and with your next device. BTW, it is really funny that just today i decided to sell my prime lol tomorrow i will bring it to Milan in a place where i hope they could buy it, or i'll go through eBay. Good luck also to the new developer!

I was hoping it would come real soon.... it came in a flash.. the devs make me swoon...
I am happy that I'm getting SU. Makes the tablet really useful too
Now we just need ICS, with this root, it will be the best..
And we're living here in Allentown....
Ran out of Thanks...so THANK YOU! now watch the people come flocking back to the Prime that dismissed it at first Today n Jan. 12 will go down in Prime history books.

Yesterday xda members found that the prime had locked bootloader, people bricking their primes with the update, people start asking to ASUS to unlock bootloader.
Today's Asus released an official statement that will release an bootloader unlock tool, ICS official release on jan 12, and then jcase got root...
JCase needs one more prime to do another test:
<jcase> i need someone with a prime, to do one final test of root
<jcase> will release after 1 more
<jcase> will opensoruce after ICS
<jcase> (probably)

The results of Opperation: social media attack asus!

A summary of the Opperation results we got 3k+ petitions on change.org, made over 25 major tech blogs including gizmodo engadget and the verge!
The results from asus
1. They will release ICS January 12th!
2. The GPS is caused mainly by the metal backplate!
3. A tool will be released that will unlock our bootloaders (no eta for this it will also void your warranty at least people in the US)
Be sure to give to me the one who spent a whole day posting and organizing this movment! (tipping the news ect.)
Also their is one other person to give thanks/props to besides yourself and me and that is asus! They handled this PR nightmare very well!
Congratulations team PRIME this just shows how powerful we can be towards a company when we work join forces TOGETHER! Now we know in the future how to get what we deserve as paying customer's from a company!

WOW Congratulations team PRIME. Great job.
I really was not sure if ASUS will give a F&*^K about us! But this differential will change a lot of things going froward.
One thing, I know that ASUS have removed the GPS from prime details! DO they will keep the GPS hardware in future reproduce of Prime or they will remove it?

[Port Req] Prime Theme Possible?

Hey all I am not at all good at knowing how to manipulate the xml's required to theme. With that being said, I really like the theme that Scar45 put together for the original tf101. I have asked if he would do one for the prime, but he doesn't have the tf201 and it would very difficult to blindly do such a project. He has stated that he would be happy to help and glad to allow someone to port it over as long as credit is given. Here is the thread, can someone make this work on either Virtuous rom or Icylicious rom?? Thanks all, really appreciate it.

Maybe to AOKP but after starting my own complete theme it would be pretty hard to do two projects at once.
This would be awesome. I wish whoever's porting this good luck, I'll keep my eyes peeled.
Hey Ultraman666, I remember talking to ya about this. Just to let you know, I'll be making an AOKP version for the TF101, and I'm not sure of the status of AOKP for the TF201, but there's a good chance it would work, as AOKP is built from a common framework.
I'll create a new thread in Themes and Apps when it's ready, but to be honest, I still haven't started. Too much going on these days, however AOKP is getting better and better on the TF101, so I'll definitely get to it as soon as I can

Leaving this device

Well, I decided that while I no longer need the device, I am trying to sell it and move on to a new device. I'm thinking the nexus tablet when it comes out. Anyway, it's been pretty good guys.
Noooooooo. Well if you have to go Thank you very much for all you have done for us. If it wasn't for you (and a lot of others as well) I would have returned it before it had a chance. Thanks again.
Well,I hate to see you go,but thank you for your contributions.
If anyone wants to buy it, I'm selling it for 220 shipped + all the accessories.
Thanks for being one of the first ones up in the batting box for this tablet, Indirect. Your efforts have been most appreciated.
Well miss ya, less devs = less fun. Wish you didnt have to leave so soon dude. The funs just about to start with the 3.0 kernel. Rooms and mods out the butt. Sad to see ya to.

As far as I remember, someone donated an NT to Indirect. Shouldn't he just forward it to some other dev like fattire who still doesn't own one instead of selling it off?
Just suggesting. Correct me if I am wrong.
I might not even sell it. I'm still finishing off development for now. Also no other dev wants one tbh.

You may open up a new thread inviting interested developers to ask you for the device. It will be a great help to the community if a new dev starts contributing for our device all coz of your generosity.
As far as I know, fattire doesnt have a device and yet has contributed a lot with his 'Cyanoboot' bootloader. I'm sure he can do a lot more with a device in his hand. Just my two cents.
Or perhaps I can sell it and use the money to care for my new cat? -.-

Merry Christmas guys its been one year on this device and I'm still happy with it and I only have you guys to thank. I would love to donate to every single one of you guys for all the hard work you guys put into these phones but I'm a lowley barista at Starbucks lol. Chad especially I only hear good things about you from the devs I usually talk to. Seriously man I would have abondoned this phone long ago if it weren't for your hard work. I really look forward to your JB Rom since all of them will be based upon your work. I have to say thanks to a few devs that have really helped me out. Neo especially you've always answered my questions personally and quickly, your roms are always amazing and its clear you put time and effort into them and we all appreciate it. You sent me all your dev books and put up with ny constant nagging to get new links for others lol. Joelz seriously an amazing dev the fact your in high school creating these roms is ridiculous and viprerez is still my favorite sense rom can't wait for the final update. Snuzzo thanks for all the kernel work they are great and really make the rez a joy to use. Nils I just started using your sense 4 business sense rom and I'm greatly impressed with its stability easily the most stable experience I have had with this device can't say enough about it. I know I'm missing people but these are the guys who overall have created the experience I have had on this phone and to all the guys who do work on this phone merry Christmas and happy holidays to you guys look forward to jelly bean and everything else you guys build for our community. Finally rezound community you guys are awesome always helping everyone out answering questions and generally helping out testing and reporting bugs and issues we even have a full fantasy football league for this phone which I doubt any other device has lol.
