[Q] Issue with CWM Manager - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just rooted my Galaxy S3 having frimware version Jellybean 4.1.1. using CF-ROOT and Odin. Now when i open CWM i get the following error
This version of CWM Manager should be used with CF-CWM v1.1 or newer,It appears you are running a different recovery.Various features have been disabled.

I want to know what it really means? I want to flash custom ROM, can I still do this?

Search for the error message and all will be revealed

Go back to the CF root thread and read it or read the ten thousand posts asking the same question .

I successfully installed the custom ROM. The error was due to the incompatibility of Jelly Bean with CWM. BTW if you cant help don't reply

BTW if YOU cannot search and are to lazy to read the thread you are in the wrong forum this is XDA Developers not some fix my phone forum .
Those are the rules which you blatantly ignored .

I definitely searched first but nothing concrete was available... for a newbie rooting and installing custom ROM is risky at first... and i respect u for being a senior member but senior members should guide juniors and yes i know its xda developer forum i came here to learn, so far so good

New user should not mean you cannot search and are unable to navigate to the G forum .

no need to be like that to a user with 2 posts. At Least he posted in Q&A and not development

You can found a firmware-collection here
Just choose a "2.2.1 Froyo" Version of your region...Good luck
But next time you should post in the general section.
Download your required firmware from sammobile.com.
Put your phone into download mode, open Odin, and flash the downloaded file.
If you still don't get it, please visit this great site- androidadvices.com and go to galaxy ace section.

i think we should ask a mod to automatically ban their IPs to clean XDA from these kind of threads..getting very annoyed to this kind of people..

Wrong section, so I'm closing this thread. About banning: you should remember that you have been noobs too. We shouldn't punish newcomers. They came here to find help, just like we one day. Help instead of punishment.
Imagine the situation that mods bans for every noob question - this forum would be empty. That's not our goal.

Root I9100XWLSS?

Hi!
I would like to know how to root an I9100XWLSS. That's a friend's phone, there is no custom recovery. The phone was stuck on bootscreen and I just flashed a stock firmware with Odin.
I am not very familiar with the I9100 (I own a I9300).
Thanks.

By looking and reading the topics that already exist about this question instead of creating "spoon feeding" requests.
Do you seriously expect anybody to believe that you thought nobody else has even asked or discussed how to root a galaxy S2 on here??
Same way as it is with i9300, custom kernel with root.
You're kidding, right ?
This phone has been out for two years, this has been asked/answered thousand upon thousands of times & you CBA following forum rules and searching, eh ?

Kernel flashing

Firstly if there is already a thread on kernel flashing I'm sorry but I couldn't find it as i am new to xda forums and could you kindly leave a link to that post ? If not, I have recently a few months back rooted my gs3 i9300 with cm10.2 (just recently flashed ) and since I'm a heavy user for games on my phone I tend to drain my battery a lot and I noticed that my phone kept getting hot (40+ degrees) and was thinking of flashing a kernel. Any thoughts and precautions on flashing a kernel and how do I flash one ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Stick with stock on cm10.2 mate. best bet.
I9100/I9300
Kernel is just a boot.img and when you flash one, it replaces the previous one. Roms all include a kernel so if you flash a kernel you don't like, reflash the rom to get its kernel back.
More info in "understanding the basics before rooting" which can be found by following the link in my signature to general > sticky roll-up
