S2 GT-I9100G stuck on boot screen after flashing Stock 4.0.4, I9100GXXLPZ, I9100GODDL - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Namashkaar Everybody,
I had a rooted S2 GT-I9100G with Stock 4.0.3, I9100GXXLPQ, I9100GODDLP7 on it.
Today I tried to upgrade it to Stock 4.0.4, I9100GXXLPZ, I9100GODDLP9 through Mobile Odin Pro.
I did what I normally do with options ticked and wipe data & cache and wipe Dalvik cache.
After phone rebooted , its stuck on First screen of "Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G" screen.
Its not going into download mode neither its restarting nor I could find a solution anywhere else.
Its my father's phone and is out of warranty.
What should I do?
I start this thread in hope that you all might be able to help me.
Thanking you in anticipation

Thanks for replying, If I could I would have, since i couldnt that is the reason I posted on XDA to find out the alternate solution.
To flash through PC Odin I have to be in download mode, as mentioned clearly , I am unable to get into download mode.
So, now if you know how to flash through PC Odin without getting into DOwnload Mode, please do let me know .
Thanks again.

[Q] Boot loop after flashing I9100 firmware

Hello guys!
Im having a big problem here, i have some Xperia Phones, and flashing roms used to be simple for me.. But now, i have a friend's Galaxy SII AT&T I777 device in hands and I messed up when i tried to flash (wrongly, i know...) a I9100 firmware using Odin.
Now it is in a boot loop and, the worst, is that i cant enter download mode.!
Someone have any idea to help me.?? i have searched everywhere, but all the methods involves entering in download mode...
Download Mode is the way to go. You soft bricked the phone. You will be bringing that phone back to stock, get use to pulling the battery.

or

I am sorry this happened. I kept showing off how fast my phone was to my friends and they finally got me to root their's too. Sadly they were captivates and I soft bricked that phone at least 5 times before figuring out the bootloaders/cwm/1click's.

thanks for your answer mate, but if i understood, all these needs download mode. and my problem is that i cant enter it... i dont know why..
EDIT: i realized that i need to enter 3e recovery, but its not possible too.....
EDIT2: now i found out the "pulling the battery" u said... kk... thanks
If the volume button access to download mode isn't working your only option is to get a jig to enter download mode and refresh stock and start over. Sucks that it isn't your phone cuz its screwed without a jig unless you can get to cwm recovery.

Like said here before, if you installed CWM on an unsafe Kernel (usually Stock Kernel present on 4.0.4 and 4.1.2 Stock Firmware) and after that wiped your data/cache etc. there is a good probability that you hard-bricked your device. Not even JTAG will help, if it`s the eMMC hardbrick.
Try to get into download mode and flash a Stock 4.0.3 Firmware and if you can`t then try a USB Jig to get into download mode and if that doesn`t work you probably hardbricked your device as described above
Read this on more info about eMMC superbrick:

Exactly. Hardly Samsung's fault when 'tards don't RTFM (which seems to be happening a lot more than it used to around here).

I love comments like this. Well if you don`t read properly how and what to flash at what time to your device and just do as you think is right then you are going to end up with a hardbrick. That`s nobodies fault but yours. Why did you buy an Android phone in the first place if you can handle an IPhone better?

If you have an hardbrick and you can`t even get into download mode, what do you expect people to do? We are normal human beings here, there are no miracles here. If you have an hardbrick, you can try to repair it via Jtag or send it to a Samsung service center if you are still on warranty but if you complain about Android and how much it sucks you won`t be making many friends here, since this is an Android community.

Well if you can't get into download it's serious... You need footwork m special equipment, or to take her to the repair centre in my opinion. I believe you have a hard brick on your hands I'm afraid

Then you have done something wrong like flash wrong firmware/pit file or flashing has been interrupted etc.
You will need to send away for repair or mobo replacement.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 won't turn on!

Hi there,
Firstly sorry if I have posted in the wrong place, i'm not too good with forums and or technology. About two weeks ago, my sister had passed me down her old Samsung Galaxy S2 which she had been using for more than a year. She's had no problems with it what so ever. Up until today, I was browsing the internet, when the internet 'app' crashed and gave me a pop up saying 'internet browser has stopped responding' or something to that affect. It then followed by a black screen where I was not able to do nothing apart from stare at the screen. I popped out the battery, waited a couple of minutes and put it back in. The screen came on with the Samsung logo, but nothing happened from there on, it was frozen. So I repeated the process one more, and now the phone does not turn on at all! I really hope someone can help me out here.
The phone has never been rooted/flashed or had anything done with it.
I have tried leaving the battery out for a couple of hours, still nothing.
I've also swapped batteries and nothing happened.
Tried booting in recovery/download mode and nothing happened either.
I've also tried connecting it to my PC where nothing happens.
I'm hoping someone can help me here, I've only had the phone for two weeks and it's already broken! My sister had it for a year and no problems! Bump.
Thanks in advance,
So can you boot into recovery or download mode? Without either of those two there's nothing you can do apart from take it to a service centre. If you have download mode then you can flash a stock ROM using Odin.
Else, do you have warranty still as it's a year old? If you do, take it to the service centre under warranty.

Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately none of those methods worked for me, i'll try the USB jig and report back. If that doesn't work i'm guessing the motherboard is the problem right? Is Samsung able to repair the phone for me even if its out of warranty but with a cost? If so, how much do you think it will cost?
Thanks
You tried all of them in 15 minutes? Give them another go, it can take a few goes sometimes if you don't get it quite right. Otherwise, yes try the jig, but don't pin your hopes on it. Yes, they can repair it. The other (cheaper) option is to buy a handset with broken screen off eBay or similar and switch your motherboard. I'm sorry, I don't know the costs :/

A little solution
Plug in ur usb to the PC as the device is off....it should remain off for this...
Plug in and see if its charging via pc.....As for it to charge..it has to go through the repair which happens internally without you need to do anything...
A triangle should appear before charging icon appears..As it appears,, just right after that flash ur rom via odin disconnect dont boot now wait n again do the usb charging trick.....
Then boot it should probably be working up again..Well it worths for a try.......
Do it n post it.

Did you check the AUTO REBOOT option in Odin? Did you try to remove the battery for a couple of minutes and reboot?
Yellow triangle is normal
PLEASE READ THE FAQ said:
Q4: When I turn my phone on, I see a yellow triangle. What is it and how can I get rid of it?
It will appear if you have flashed a non-official kernel from download mode. If you flash kernels using CWM recovery, Mobile Odin etc. you won't get this yellow triangle.
The easiest ways to remove it are to use the app Triangle Away OR use a USB Jig.

Hi there:
I had bought the device in June 2011
I had the same problem about 7 months back and did as you suggested, was able to recover the firmware.
Now, I am facing the same problem today, my device started and was stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S2 logo.
Did the same thing again, the animated android logo appeared, and after some time the device was off.
I have been trying to get the device to switch on , but to no avail, the device is not even powering ON.
Device info: Unrooted , OS: 4.1.2
Please advice. Kindly treat this as urgent.

Phone not booting at all/charging/no signs of life = Samsung service centre or local mobile repair shop for diagnosis. Nothing anyone here can suggest beyond that if the phone won't even bootloop or be in a state where it's 'user fixable'.

I guess, you need to boot in recovery
with home + power+vol up
and clear data and reboot
if that doesnt help.
try booting in download mode again and flash the firmware.
but let it charge first.

My phone is dead too...
I left it on (functioning normally) and went for a bath, when I got out it was dead...
From functioning ok to nothing in a few minutes, I don't have any idea why. Is it really the motherboard?
Fact: Electronics breaks. All the time. All electronics.
MJDdeLacerda - Take it to a local mobile repair shop for diagnosis, unless you're experienced with this type of electronics, nothing you can do.

Ever since I rooted it I can't use the phone, whenever I turn it on it just goes straight to the "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!". I can't exit download mode (tried pressing volume up+power+home) All I can do is re-enter download mode by pressing volume down+power+home. Please help! What should I do? I don't know where to start and I really hope I haven't turned my precious into an expensive doorstop.
Try reflash stock rom I9305

First you posted on the wrong forum the I9305 has a separate Q & A thread. Onto though your problem though... your phone is on a semi-brick state since it can still boot into download mode so there's still hope... what I can recommend you to do is that you flash a stock rom this time make sure its for the I9305 branch and not the I9300 one just go to Sammobile and search. If that still fails then better wait for a more experienced user to give you a possible fix as i don't own an I9305 one.
It seems hard to find the stock rom on sammobile for the I9305, I'm aware I'm a complete noob when it comes to this stuff but usually I'm pretty good at finding these things... Has anyone got a link to it?

@JJEgan
You should've just posted the link of the firmware section of Sammobile and not copy paste it as a whole... look it's all messy and much more confusing.

I was in a similar situation to our unfortunate friend, biggyjurss. I nearly gave up all hope of ever restoring my phone (SIII GT-19305) to the way it was. I really didn't think there was any way back from being stuck in the download screen that will still haunt me the rest of my days. With everyone's help, I managed to restore everything to the way it was!!!! **** YEEEAAHH! I have learnt a valuable lesson in not to EVER attempt rooting a phone again unless I really know what I am doing and I have done my research. I want to thank everyone on this thread for helping me out!
i'm having this exact same problem after doing the exact same mistakes and nothing seems to be helping. I've already wiped everything from the phone and tried Kies to getting the phone back to stock, but Kies just crashes in the process. I can also get to the boot menu and to the download menu, but nothing helps. The phone just keeps coming back to the downloading screen. Please help :crying: I thought there would be no trouble with rooting your phone since every site just said how easy it is...
THANK YOU!
I made the same error (flashed i9300 instead of i9305), and got stuck too.
Tried flashing the rooted i9305 to no avail.
Had to cross my fingers hoping that my laptop's BSOD doesn't come when I was downloading the stock off Sammobile. (I get intermittent BSODs, usually because of the heat. My laptop is old.)
It's now working again after flashing the stock firmware.
Thank you all, once again!
