Under Phone Contacts i can see only those synced from Facebook and Outlook, some contacts have been merged etc.
However when i send an SMS i see ALL contacts on the phone, including e-mail adresses for people on gmail etc. Also, no contacts are merged.
How to fix?

Wrong section and wrong thread buddy... If ur ever made a backup of ur old unsynced contacts u can get all ur messaging contacts back..

I sync all my contacts from contacts.google.com to my hero phone.
know I have some Contacts that I don't wanna have on my phone. (As example the Google Wave bots I added)
Is there a possibility to block/filter some contacts to not sync to my phone?

in Google contacts, you can create a new group. Then select the contacts you dont want synced and move them from My Contacts group to your new group. Make sure the contacts are no longer My Contacts.

i have a group called phone too and just sync that group to keep everything specific.

is there a way to permanently link my facebook contacts to google contacs; It's annoying every time i flash a new rom my contacts get restored from google but i have to re-link them with my facebook contacts to get their pic and email
me too! Very disturbing every time! Anyone,help with this?

You can try this: Sync your contacts with FB and Google. Go to your contacts app. Make sure the display options are such that both FB & Google contacts are displayed. Merge possible duplicates. Once all of this is done. From the contacts menu, export the contacts to SD card.
Now you've the contacts backup file which contains numbers, emails plus the the display pictures. After flashing new ROM, just import from this file.
Hello everyone, first time to post or ask a question although I've always found all i'm seeking through this forum and it's more than awesome, but i face a little problem...
The problem is as following, some contacts i have on my contact list are stored with another name than the name on facebook, ex: "John (Jazz Club)" isn't getting merged automatically with "John Lynn", specially when he's not showing the email on the facebook page to be stored once and every time i re-flash a ROM and sync, i get the contacts merged, i got hundreds of contacts not merged and seperated (my contact list are over 2k :S), and don't ask me to rename the contact cause i will never remember who the hell is John Lynn
I've imported facebook contacts via yahoo, exported and imported via gmail and the facebook section in the contacts with the profile name is shown in the contact online but still when i sync facebook contacts they are still separated.
What i need or what i wish there is, a method to add some sort of a link on the gmail contacts for the facebook profile, so whenever i flash a new ROM and sync facebook and gmail contacts, they got merged automatically
OR
an application that does some sort of a combined backup with the both contacts and it needs aswell to import all the newly added contacts on gmail into it, is there something like that ?
sorry if i complicate stuff but if you saw how the contact list looks it will scare the @*#$ out of you
Try long pressing the contact and then "join contact" then you can pick it manually.

I think he knows about the Join Contact option, what the OP is asking is if there is any way to store in Google Servers that action for future restores of his contact list.

Exactly Zedread, join contacts just join the interface of the two contacts together and as soon as you flash a new ROM it's all wasted, i need a method for a "once and for all" merge, either on the Gmail servers or by an application that works stand alone

I got all my facebook contacts numbers synced and it comes in contacts but its not coming as phone contacts. Only when it comes as phone contacts i can use them in other apps like Viber and Whatsapp. Its not practically possible add and each very number manually (1800 friends ). Is there any way to copy facebook numbers to phone contacts or likewise?

U can use GO contacts EX to do a batch operation.here u go:

Certain contacts in my phone don't get synced with GMail. Those contacts happen to be the ones which were transferred from GMail to my phone. I had transferred all my contacts from iPhone to GMail and then to my phone. Suppose I edit one of those contacts, the changes aren't reflected in Gmail. But, the contacts which were created on my phone remain perfectly in sync. Also, adding those contacts to a new group also doesn't sync. What might be the problem here?
Default account is Google Account.
Running Unofficial CM 11 by Temasek.
