[SOLVED] I can't install Cygwin (No Packages Found) Windows 7 64bit - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
::Look At the End of the Post to Find the Solution::
I'm having a big problem here installing Cygwin on Windows 7 64bit. When I try to run the Setup.exe and I choose install from local directory and I go to the page where I click on the arrows to install the packages I just notice that it says up there that there is No Packages Found...!
here is an Image showing what I mean:

I'm trying to install ( Dsixda Kitchen ) so I'm using links from his Thread: [KITCHEN] Android Kitchen, v0.214 [Linux / Mac / Windows]
I installed JDK for both 32 and 64 bit, and of course I have android SDK installed, I also went to change the PATH in the: Environment Variables and added the Path to my JDK excutables which is like that: [ (Other Programs here)......;H:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin ]
as you can see I have all paths to all Java Installed on my PC.. and I have a friend running Dsixda Kitchen on the JRE 7 alone installed instead of the JDK from Dsixda's Thread and he says it's fine either ways, also many people confirmed the same.
I tried re-downloading Dsixda Kitchen packages and also his Cygwin packages and when I tried to install I got the same thing in the picture above that there is: No Packages Found
I installed the Java JRE and JDK before trying to install Cygwin as explained in Dsixda Kitchen's thread for installing for windows post #3
I'm just trying to have Dsixda Kitchen running, and so far and after many days of trying I have no luck...
I even tried with a virtual machine running windows xp sp3 32bit and still the same error that there is no packages found!!
I hope I could find here some help as I tried visiting cygwin site and I can't find help there in their mailing list!! it's a real pain to browse there!
thanks guys
::EDIT - Solution::
the problem was that when u run the setup.exe u just go on with the defaults... u just click on Install from locale directory as instructed in Dsixda Kitchen's thread but the problem was when u should Browse to where the Packages locally located to install from.
I used to not play around with browse to manually browse for the packages.. so now I decided to give it a try and it worked now..
instead of allowing the installation setup determine the default location for the packages I browsed to where it's exactly located... and just then now I can see the packages to install.
the default location will look like this:
D:\kitchen\dsixda_cygwin_install\
so u just then hit Browse and browse to this location this time and it'll work:
D:\kitchen\dsixda_cygwin_install\cygwin_packages
thats it for fixing the: NO PACKAGES FOUND problem, and it'll work with any windows system.

Eclipse Android Development Question

I just installed eclipse and I want to start developing some small apps but it seems that Android Training has not been updated and some of the settings have been changed.
Can someone point out which is the correct project to create for apps?... I've tried all in the picture below but on Android Training it says that "Open the main.xml file from the res/layout/ directory (every new Android project includes this file by default)." when trying to create a user interface, but it isn't there for me.

Any advice?
Its weird!
Which version of Eclipse and Java ?
Have you set the Environment variables for Java ?
Anyways I've never faced this problem, as I'm using Eclipse 3.7 with JDK 1.6
Eclipse: Juno Release
Java JDK 6 update 33
It seems like I cannot create a new project from scratch.. I have to start with one of the prebuilt layouts like in the picture:
Anyone know?
Sorry, I'm not sure what exactly is the problem.
Just check whether you've installed eclipse & android-sdk like this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoWVeXizfbo (pretty old video, but its a good one)
Also make sure you've set the Environment variables like this :
(Path should be your JDK installation path)
Th problem is that I cannot create a new blank project with all the basic files in the project.
In the android training it says to that you should have main.xml in /layout, but that only happens when I create an activity with that predefined layout.
Is this the only way to get the the necessary files?

I don't think so, because for creating Widgets, there is no need for Activity. Still you could get the main.xml file. Actually in every projects that I've created, main.xml, strings.xml, manifest.xml etc comes by default. That's why I said 'weird' before. I'm confused with the Eclipse version because I'm still using older version 3.7. But that doesn't mean it will not work in new versions.
I guess there is some error with the ADT plugin, and make sure you've downloaded development tools after connecting android-sdk. The video I posted before is the exact steps for preparing the dev environment. So please make sure you've followed the exact steps.
EDIT: Also, this Thread gives the exact steps, for connecting Eclipse with android-sdk.
Will do and then report back, thanks

oh great, now i just dont understand what to do anymore, im really new to linux os
You need to change "initrdefi" to "initrd" and "linuxefi" to "linux" in the grub customizer.
For future, do NOT post the same thing in multiple threads please.
Also there is a Linux Installer (Ubuntu compatible) available - in beta but I heard it works OK with Ubuntu. Check here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3496934

all right im sorry, i changed that, it can boot, so there is bunch of text going on, and then the
A N D R O I D [email protected] x64 text appeared
and after that, black screen, nothing happen, no cursor, what happen now?
i downloaded and use the newest version from the remix website.
ill download and try the ubuntu version, thanks for the link
umm btw, when i download the ubuntu version, what to do with .deb extension ? i mean usually is .iso. sorry, im not familiar with linux
@Ravagioli
I don't know your entire grub configuration so I can't say if black screen means problems with graphics or problem with system image or something else.
Installing with the .deb package is unlikely to help, but at least we'll know you used the installation method we know, so we might know what to expect.
I'm not experienced in Ubuntu either but installing should be as simple as opening the .deb file. Can't help with that sorry.
If installing from Ubuntu won't help, then boot Remix OS in Verbose Mode and then share your problem with logfiles here:
https://github.com/JideTechnology/Remix-OS-For-PC/wiki
The link also gives info on how to boot in Verbose Mode and post Issues on Github.
With the log files we will know more about your device and we'll have the error data indicating where the problem is.
And lastly:
Currently most effective and failproof installation method is using .exe installer made for Windows. We are working on both Linux installer and a bootable installer.
