[Q] Which Android game engine/framework - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I'm coming from an XNA background and I would like to start developing games/apps for the Android system. I'm looking for a game engine (2D is enough) that I can use. Preferably one that is widely used and supported by the developers and community alike.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
C

[Q] How to port a windows game to Android

Hello. I say you that I'm not a developer but I want to become it.
I want to port a Windows game (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Game PC; like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N76r0RjAYBI) on the platform Android but I don't know how I do it (if I cannot do it, you can say me it unscrupulous) Thanks in advance.
PS: [I want to port this game as Machinarium is ported on Android]
Impossible.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using Tapatalk 2
Thanks. So I cannot do nothing. Help Developers?
A) The game is written for a x86 processor and not the ARM processor
B) It is written for Windows (would be a bit easier if it was on linux)
C) You do not own the game and so porting it without source code would be very hard (and would likely result in you being told to remove the app)
So simply its near impossible, would take far to much work and even if you where able to do it its likely you would not be able to release it
Not Possible!
I is not possible if you don't have the source code. If you have the source code and the editor to open/export it, then you can recompile a Windows game to Android. But, you'll also have to code the game for Android. . And I don't think any developer like EA, who develops Windows games would give their source code to any one. However, some Open-Source games allow you to download the source code. You also need lots of programming experience because game-programming ain't that easy!
is it possible to port NFSMW 2005 to android?
I read the comments above,so far I'm agree Since NFSMW 2005 also develop by EA...
and why EA doesn't consider releasing NFSMW 2005 on android even after having so many latest cellphone which meet above the most PS2 /PC games requirement.
Im interested in porting age of wonders shadow magic to my kindle, can i not just build a shell to gimmick ol windows and just basically create an interface? Kind of like a plug n play interface model...yah the file package might be bigger but still. Or am i just crazy? Like a rom emulator
I would like to see starbound ported to Android one
You can use a emulator like bochs or other emulator that can emulate windows games

[Q] Best 2d game engine for android game development ?

Hey guys,
I've decided to start an android 2d game project, however i am confused as to which 2d game engine would be the best.
The engine:
- Must be cross-platform
- Must be efficient
- Should be C++, Java, C# or Objective C since I'm comfortable with them and NOT Flash, Javascript, HTML5 since I am not a
web developer
- Must have a large community, tutorials, additional libraries
- The final delivered package must be not too large
- The engine can be free, but I also wouldn't mind paying a reasonable price
Which one would you suggest me?
Thanks

[Q]Creating graphics for Games in C#

Hi Guys,
I have recently started developing Android apps using C#(Mono Droid), with Xamarin. So i developed a few small apps for practice with whatever i could read off on mono droid. But i am wondering how do they create the graphics in games and how to go about it in Mono Droid?
I recommend you to start learning Unity3d engine. It is easy for use and has greate perfomance in 3d graphics on mobile platforms. You can use C# for scripting.

Online Multi-Player 3D physics based android game development help!

HI I'm a beginner for android game development.
I want to make a online multi-player physics based game in 3D. Currently I only know that the graphics should be design in unity or blender, later the graphics should be integrated within the program with the help of libgdx like tools that is game engine.
I don't know how to do all the all the stuff also can i design the same android game using blender game engine if yes then how?
Please provide proper guidance and step by step information thanks in advance..
No answers yet :crying:
Unity
It certainly is a big task you've set for yourself, especially if you don't have much experience with developing. Don't expect to succeed at first, start small. That being said, Unity is most likely the way to go. I would be able to make all that you talk about with unity (though multiplayer is no easy feat) and maybe some 3D modeling software like blender or Cinema 4D. You should start by watching some basic tutorials on unity, then work on small games using parts of what you want to use in your big game, once you have a good grip on most of the parts (like physics, network and such) you might just be able to make that game Best of luck, I hope this help.
Edit: Plus you'll be able to publish on multiple platforms!

Warhammer 40,000: Regicide

Hey guys, I'm looking for a Battle Chess/Battle vs Chess type game that my friends and I can play each other either on mobile devices (Android and iOS, ideally with cross-platform online multiplayer). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shZ-fAGEJ_w
I was referred to this game, Warhammer 40,000: Regicide (http://www.warhammer40kregicide.com/)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THFhos2xVs8
The problem is that it just recently came out for iOS, and they are waiting to see if there is enough interest from Android users to develop for Android. The game is also supposed to allow cross-platform online multiplayer, which is really cool. So I would like to post up here to see if you guys can contact the developers or post in the forms over there to show there is a lot of interest in what looks to be a very cool game, so the developers can develop the Android version of it for us to be able to play and enjoy it too.
Thanks!
Now out on Android!!!! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hammerfall.regicide&hl=en
And it supports cross-platform multiplayer!
