From this to this ROM? - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Hello there!
I'm thinking about buying a used flyer (32gig, 3G, 190€) that is currently running on the FlyHigh ROM. Will it be possible to upgrade the ROM to Dekter's Jelly Bean ROM? I've got spoiled by using Jelly Bean on my Sensation and never want to go back

fly High is GB. you will have to update your Hboot to HC before flashing rom

Sure you can flash Dexter's JB ROM.
As mentioned, you will need to upgrade to the HC Hboot. Assuming the Flyer is S-Off and not just bootloader unlocked, you can use this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358758
Its a bit confusing, but:
To flash GB custom ROMs, you need to be on the GB Hboot.
To flash HC or JB custom ROMs, you need to be on the HC Hboot.
Not sure what the process would be, if the Flyer is just bootloader unlocked and S-On. You might ask the seller if its S-Off or not.

Will ask the seller asap. Thanks for your input!

Not sure why I didn't think of it before, but you can just go into bootloader to see if its S-Off or not.

Need help for HC update please,I wanna stay rooted and S 0ff

Hi peeps.
i just got my cowboom flyer it was on 1.10 hboot GB. SO i easily use revolutionary method for S-ff .Now am S-off and i wanna upgrade to HC but i still wannna be rooted. If i accept HC update will it break my root? I read other forums for HC update but its kind of confusing. I read that HC will break gps is that true? how about custom HC roms? is custom HC roms also break the gps? which one is thre best HC custom rom for flyer
Read Globatron's thread. You can install his routed stock ruu. So you can keep the stock set up, but remain rooted. Our you can then upgrade and flash custom HC ROMs.

yeah sorry for short explanation. Actually i used the P41IMG image from above link and then i saw the warning that its not full rom it will just give u HTC logo.
Then i flashed lee-droid custom rom and now everything works fine except my camera. Camera is upside down. other than that everything works. Any known good and stable GB custom rom in case u know?

How to return to complete stock?

This might be a dumb question but how do i return the rezound to complete 100% stock? thanks
If you never flashed ics ruu leak you can relock and use gb ruu.. if you did ics ruu, then best you can do is a gb Rom...ics not out yet...so gb is the ofical stock.

if you are running leaked ics ruu, then best you can do is back to gb stock rooted rom.

Don't forget to flash the GB SD Fix. I am having some difficulties locating a link for it.
EDIT:
Found it!

Flash that after flashing the rom but before flashing kernel.
thanks for quick reply. how do i flash, im new to rezound.
If one changed the bootloader to be ra-vigor,
then how does one put back the stock bootloader?

Ok good, just go through reading on how to flash custom roms, kernels, & AmonRA 3.15.
Once you read up and I mean READ you shouldn't have any issues if you decide to go to custom roms. Should be able to fix anything with the device once you have went through at least 3 custom rom flashes. I suggest one of the ICS roms as your first flash as it's rather straightforward vs rolling back to gingerbread from the RUU.
I thought the phone would say that you're re-locked if you tried to re-lock it. If that's the case, is there a way to revert that back to a "locked" status?

Only way for that to happen is if we get S-off for the device. Sounds like a method is done testing for the Rezound so a matter of them releasing it .
This doesn't return you to the old radios if you updated them, does it?
I have had bluetooth issues since going to the leaked firmware and ICS. Flashed everything multiple times, etc, etc with no improvements.
If there is a way to get back old radios and GB, or if this IS the way, I'll be ecstatic (or ex-static pun). From what I read I thought you couldn't get back to original radios.
Is this the solution to returning to old firmware?
Only way is with s-off and running a gb ruu. Doing those 2 things will give you back the gb radio.
You can run gb Roms until then....requires a sd card patch, check the op of a Rom and it explains it there. Might give a little better performance until s off is released.

[Q] Getting back to stock

So, I updated to the leaked kernel and would like to get back to stock. I know we had to wait for s-off, and since we have it now I was hoping for a how-to. I see we have a back to stock radio but what about the stock RUU? I am still getting used to all the terms here. Learning the difference from kernel/RUU/Radio/Rom. I am only confused on kernel and RUU.
I do have s-off.
Thanks All,
XDA user are the best
I would avoid flashing the radios. I would flash the latest GB RUU. After that you can flash and downgrade your hboot to the eng hboot 2.11 if you would like. Then go about how you would have dine before to run ics roms with the firmware patch unless the dev says otherwise......
If I am wrong someone will correct me.....as I have not done this.
HTC Rezound via TT2
BeringBullet, are you rooted? I ask because I also installed the ICS leak and want to go back to stock but I dont want to root.
Does anyone have a link to the GB RUU? I cant find a working one.
Not the most recent one but you can update over the air:

Yes I am rooted, thanks for the link.

Then I assume you haven't done S-OFF? You will have to root to do the exploit. If afterward you run the GB RUU and flash the eng HBOOT, you can run stock unrooted ROM.
Word of warning; IF you flash the eng hboot after RUU'ing back to GB. Don't attempt bringing S-ON back to the device as you will brick to an unusable state.
Here's a write-up I made in another thread, just a quick summary of what steps to take. You can leave the stock hboot but if you wish to flash radios and/or s-on you will need to unlock.

[Q] flashing new hboot

Just S-Off'd my friends rezound and the process didn't give us an option to flash the new hboot after s-off was achieved. What's the safest/proper way to flash the jb_hboot?
Also he has the leaked firmware, but is running a GB rom...does this mean we use the ICS hboot?

Same happened to me. I flashed mine in hboot when I did it. If he's on the leaked firmware, he can use the ICS hboot.

[Q] Root and s-off

Hi guys, my friend wants me to root his rezound and get s-off for him. His rezound obviously has ics and I am having a hard time finding a tut on how to do this with ics. He has never rooted a phone, and I have done both my dinc and my dinc2 (dinc2 is my current phone) about a half a dozen times, thats why I am doing it for him. But rooting ics is new to me, as mine was gingerbread when i did it. Can someone point me to a good tut on how to root and get s-off on his rezound with ics? Thanks guys
Doesn't matter that's it's ICS.
***edit to add... I misread your orig. post and thought you had rooted and s-offed a Rezound of your own on GB. s-off is tricky on this, you have to short out something on the phone to do it. You really should read a lot before you do anything, especially since it's someone else's phone. ***
HTCdev Unlock (save the unlock token as you can reuse it for same device) (find guides in dev section, sticky roll up thread)
flash recovery (Amon Ra or TWRP)
root through recovery
s-off http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612035
flash ROM
There's more detailed info on which hboot to use etc... you'll have to search around for that sort of info. Again, I would really read through this forum thoroughly before you do anything. You don't have to s-off, it makes flashing the ROMs easier as it automates flashing the kernel but it also makes it easier to brick the phone.
There's a global leak RUU you can run if you want global:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/
You have to relock to run that, so after you flash the recovery you can relock and run global RUU, then unlock again and flash ROM. Or I think if you s-off first you don't have to relock. Not sure as I'm still s-on.
When you're s-off you don't need to relock to run an ruu. The s-off process relocks the boatloader for you and there is no reason to ever unlock again.

Thanks for the info. I unlocked the bootloader with htcdev, flashed AmonRa, rooted, and did the JuopunutBear s-off procedure to get s-off. Yes, after I was s-off, my bootloader was relocked. All is good now Oh one more thing...looking for the most stable ics based rom available. Either sense 3.6 or 4.0 (4.1?), or even aosp. I just want stability for the phone.

Stability?
Nils', Newtoroot's, Rezone Redux, or a stock ruu with root/busybox.
Want some speed and a hair just under rock solid? Flash my own rom, Viral OTA (Global based).
lol ya, Im not use to stable ics roms. I have a dinc2 myself and we dont have ics or 3.0 kernel source either so our ics roms are a little less than stable, but still good for a hacked up gb kernel. Thanks for the recommendations
