me too! ordered 8.23

TNT turned up at exactly the same time the wife popped up the local, I've been told I can pick it up from the depot at 9am tomorrow..
At least the depot is over the road from work I suppose..

Ordered at 8:58 as an afterthought because the Nexus 4 sold out even quicker (I'd always intended on getting the N10 as well, I know it's not exactly an alternative to the N4 lol) Went out late this morning but luckily there's always someone in at my house. Got home about 1ish and there it was.

Tell us about the screen. The reviews said that the colours are muted. Any truth to this? Or did they over exaggerate?

How fast is browsing? How about apps more dependent on stored data, like Currents or other apps that make you wait while they "load"? Oh, one more thing -- can someone check the dalvik.vm.heapsize and the vm.swappiness for me please? Thank you

Mine has arrived! UK, ordered 16gb 8:55am. It is such a nice device! Screen is amazing!

can't really comment since this is my first tablet but the colours are quite nice , i wouldnt say exaggerated but could be considered a vibrant mellow, if that makes sense.

stock browser is chrome which is speedy but i'll more than likely switch it up. Apps load quickly too although the ram usage is rather high. Idles over 1gb but it maybe due to my two user configuration.

I understood the entire package weighs almost 3000 grams! What is in it that makes it so heavy? The device it self weigs only 603 grams..what's the other 2,5 kilos??
Can somebody please comfirm to me how much the entire parcel weighs in grams? (as you have received it by mail including the shipping box)
I need to know this for a shipping price quote.
Thanks in advance!

Happy for you guys.:good:
Now if one of you will just look under display in the settings and tell us once and for all if there is an option there for "wireless display" please? The uncertainty of whether it was getting miracast or not has kept me from pushing the "buy it now " button.

Too bad, looks like the code has reached capacity.
Edit: looks like others found that out before me... I had to upgrade to 3.02 first before it'd show.
I didn't feel like I needed it, besides it needs a decent computer as well, mine is becoming outdated.
kinda of annoyed at this today because I just bought it yesterday...lol...

[Q] Product Code?

Just bought my Lumia 800 this friday.
I checked the product code which is:
Code:
059N2C3
This device comes with:
Code:
Type Designator: RM-801
Software Version: 1600.2479.7740.11451
On the packaging box is says CV Denmark so it should be a Danish version.
Then I checked RM-801 in Nokia Data Package Manager and it can't find this particular product code I got.
Are Nokia still adding product codes, since this isn't showing up yet?
I can see that there is a Danish product code for Cyan which is:
Code:
059N4C1
And that got the latest 8107.
I guess it will be there eventually, just wait a little longer. The lumia just hit the market in Denmark right? You can check if Zune has any update available; 8107 is being rolled out since the 19th or so. The last Lumia will receive the update 2 weeks from that date because updates are made available in batches.
CV means Country Variant (=unbranded).
Yep the device just got here. I'll wait a bit longer for the update i guess
Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
Guys, how can you do a quick check on the product code, eg. at a store?
Hmm so far I haven't been lucky with the Lumia 800. The first one I got had an annoying clicking sound when I used the touch screen on the right side (probably wasn't seated correctly in the casing). Then I went to exchange it for a new. The new one I got has a scratch on the inside of the glass. Hopefully the next one will be in perfect condition without any flaws
My screen sits slightly further in on the right side than on the left. But I think that I will keep it as it is.
I called Nokia Denmark today btw. regarding the battery issue that is oviously still there. The supporter verified that there was indeed a problem and that there will be a new firmware update very soon to fix that. I'm assuming it's going to be version 115xx. The current version is 11451. Well at least it is at Telenor.

Yep so is my 3rd and proper Lumia 800. A huge thanks goes out to the great customer service at Elgignten Viby. She wrote to the other department that I had to open the device in store and check it for flaws before I left, so I went and checked and all is in perfect order now.

You could read the code off a box (I think), or check the carrier line in the about section. The second one wont show you a code, but it will tell you if it's branded or not.

Reviews of phones in my opinion need at least a month of the phone being used.
People that post "reviews" a couple days after release are merely a "hands-on" video of the phone.

The portrait to landscape (vice versa) transitions?
Agreed to an extent. On my Nexus S running ICS the transition delay was 200ms and was changeable to up to 10ms.
I found that having a quick auto rotation could be sometimes frustrating because the screen would rotate when I didn't want it to, like when I put the phone down on the table.

It has NFC but my understanding is that it's not currently enabled in the stock software. Presumably this is a difficulty a custom ROM or kernel maker could rectify.

Replacement note so much better

Here's an interesting thing. I am on my third note with the other two being replaced due to screen and USB plug issues respectively. I get my new note and it is remarkably better. The GPS works where it couldn't even lock before and the phone itself is sooo smooth. It this how it was supposed to work the whole time?

Sent my Note in a week before my warranty was up to have the screen fixed. Now the screen is much better than it ever was before. The screen was great before but it is noticeably sharper and brighter. My buttons are also super bright now. I think the screen has to be a hardware upgrade that could only be in a new Note or replacement screen.

Yes ....but with a one time, $36.00 upgrade charge.
I've been a customer with them for nearly 15 years, since the early days and I also hold a level one business account.
So results for others will likely not be the same.
I've got 11 contracted devices in service with ATT, for my employees.
Having device replacements coming is much easier under those conditions.
They also let me keep the new device, and the tech told me to sell it for parts or repair the button and sell a new working device.
I've got a new power button coming Monday, and a shop I use regularly that will fix it for me too sell.
All together I'm placing 5 devices and their cases, chargers and packaging up for sale this week as I'm getting ready for the move into the note 2 this Tuesday.
I'm planning to stay around the note 1 section for a while, as we have many new users needing help from those of us who have been around this device for a while.
And I've also got duties to perform with the super thread and our Korean note users needing a section built inside the super thread space.....g

Get a mophie or some other wireless charging/extra battery case for it.. it'll obviously definitely add to the size/weight of the phone tho over a standard case.. I wouldn't get the cheap chinese one's off ebay tho, horrible things that don't last long at all.

Yeah ive tried 2-3 different Chinese ones, although admittingly they were for my iPhone and not the HTC one. They were great for the first month or two and then and then they all started having issues. 1 would fail to charge ever again regardless of charger, another failed to hold a charge for longer than ~4hrs, another would constantly cycle charging on/off while switched on and trying trying to charge the phone. Just had a bad experience overall and waiting a month+ for RMA is a bit much. Much better to get a legit one for these reasons at a place where you can RMA in your own country if you ever need it.
