Switch menu button to application switer - AT&T LG Optimus G

Just wondering if there was a way I could switch the menu button to bring up the task switch, with a long press bringing up the hidden menu.
Thanks

I know I can with CM10 on my old DHD, so I'm guessing as soon as we get CM10 *fingers crossed* it'll be possible.

[Q] Remapping buttons to use "LONG PRESS BACK KEY OR MENU KEY"

I have the sgs2 for a few months, Im very satisfied with this phone, But there is a thing I cannot live with, THE HOME BUTTON, I dont know why? but a I dont like it at all, I prefer non physical buttons, so Ive been proving some apps to avoid it, someones like button savior, swipepad and wave launcher (This one is absolutely great).
I just wanna know: is there a way to remap LONG PRESS "BACK KEY" to go to home?, just like long press menu does to go to search!. I proved BUTTONREMAPPING but it doesnt have the "long press" options. I was searching and now I know that files on /system/usr/keylayout and /system/usr/keychars setup the keys on the phone, indeed /system/usr/keylayout/sec_touchkey.kl shows the default capacitive buttons setup, but I dont have enough knowledge to change "LONG PRESS" options on this keys.
so:
Some of you guys know about it?
It is possible or not setup LONG PRESS BACK OR MENU KEY on SGS2?

There certainly is way to achieve such a thing but i certainly dont know what the way to do so without replacing launcher and having it doing so or maybe replacing Rom. I qould love to know a way to get it done without having to go through that.

You will have to ask one of the modders to do it for you, try contacting one of the modders who has made "long press to kill process" it will be fairly easy for them.

Any fix ?
I want to remape my menu to back and menu to app switch like the navbar =D
If you don't mind going custom, then cyanogenmod has this (sort of) in an option in the developer options of their roms.......you long press the back button and it kills the running processes (apps)

[Q] Q: muti tasking button replace menu button?

Dear Developers,
I got a quick question:
is it possible to change the function of the menu button to the muti tasking function instead?
if so is it possible to be a APK file format and installation for it to work on a stock phone?
if no, then i guess it has to be rooted? if thats the case, does that mean most applications will lose the menu button? cant be the same as the Nexus phone where all applications has a on screen menu button?
OR just do a swap between the two functions? holding down the home key gives the menu function whereas the menu function gives the muti tasking function.
thanks in advance,
Best Regards,
E
It's possible, but I don't know how the menu button will show up then, and having that ugly HTC-esque navbar with one button is not the way it should be...
sorry, it i just me or anyone else finds the menu button pretty useless.
holding down the home button to bring the multi tasking up is too slow in my opinion.
would be great if someone can just switch the two functions of menu and multi.
thanks tho

I dont find is useless.
What i find useless is you can get the same menu just by pressing on your homescreens or longpress there, so 3 ways to get that menu up.
On the matter on what button brings up the task manager, i really dont care. After a few days i got used to it being behind the home button.

Remapp menu button?

I'm using the latest Omega v7.0.
Is there any possibility to remapp the menu button with the multitasking function? It's always a pain holding the homebutton down for many seconds and waiting until the multitasking interface will show up.
As the HTC One series I'd like to get some sort of menu buttons displayed on the screen if necerary.
C'mon guys anyone?
I wish someone can develop on this too... This is possibly the worst experience I have with my S3, the lack of multitask button.

May be this can help you:

[Q] thinking about buying HOX+ but i got a question

since ICS htc made phones with 3 keys back home and tasks while samsung and LG made back home and menu and long press on the home key take you to tasks...
so my question is that some old application that does not have the 3 dots at top that replacing the menu key let you access setting and more only by ptessing the menu key so....
my question is how does it work?
thank you for your answer
To get rid of the black settings bar, there's an option in settings. After that's changed, you have the option of short pressing the recent apps key for settings and long press for multitask/recent apps or vice versa.

[Q][XU] Back button --> Kill App

In CM9, The back button can be used to kill apps on long press,
Is it possible by some dev to incorporate to stock? Pls, I dont think swiping away apps while long pressing home is the same thing,
It would be really cool if this was possible, long press back button, kill app.
