Just a bootloop, give this a go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1108499
You will lose all data although, nothing on external sd card will be lost.
Also, how did you flash the ROM? If you followed the guide step-by-step, you shouldn't have ended up in a bootloop.

I wiped all partitions and then flashed the zip file.
Is it with a bootloop that you even can't get in to recovery? I'm stuck on samsung logo, not on RR logo

Ok, well give the thread I linked above a go. You can download stock ROM's from sammobile.com, and flash through Odin. Do you know how to use Odin?

Ah I'm stupid! You need to get into recovery for that thread! You're definitely holding the correct buttons when the phone is fully off (home + power + volume up)?

I think I will give it a go. But the threat says that you should do it from your recovery, or if you are not comfortable with the recovery way you should do it via odin. I can't get in recovery, so maybe I have an other problem..
I'm honestly a little scared of odin.
once I had to do something with odin, but that failed. so I could not get out download mode..

This is taken straight from my rooting guide. It will help you correctly set up Odin:
First off, you need Odin, which is a flashing tool specifically designed for the SGS2: Just type in "Odin 1.85" without quotations into Google and the first result should display "Odin - xdadevelopers - XDA Developers." Click on the link and Odin will download.
Now before going ahead with Odin, download Kies: http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/ ,which is like iTunes for Samsung Devices, the drivers are needed for Odin, but when the drivers have been installed, close Kies, right click on your toolbar at the bottom of your desktop, I'll assume your running Windows 7, and go into Task Manager. Now find anything with Kies running in the Task Manager, right click on them and kill them.
Once you have done this, go to "sammobile.com", sign up and download a stock ROM for the GT-I9100. I'll assume you have the international SGS2, just remove your battery and make sure it isn't the GT-I9100G. Then flash via Odin by connecting your phone, making sure Odin is configured like above, and then putting your phone in download mode, connecting it to your PC and put the file you downloaded in the PDA section and flash.

Here is a link to the stock firmware for the GT-I9100 in the UK on my operator: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-I9100&pcode=O2U&os=1&type=1#firmware
Scroll up just above the table of firmwares and choose your country and operator if possible.

I'm afraid the square in odin doesn't become green..

Yes, if you can't get into Recovery Mode, a new flash is your only saviour. When you have flashed the ROM and hopefully everything went well, you can root your ROM by using Chainfire's CF-Root. Then you could restore a backup.

I have also a zip-file of my previous rom on my sd-card. That was codename lungo. Can I flash that zip so i don't neet to re-root lik you said?

Do you know what it is/does? Also, the guide I took that segment on setting up Odin was actually written for rooting your ROM with CF-Root.
Oh, its a ROM. My bad! Well, I'm not too sure. I think if you have a backup of it, that would be safer. Rooting is real easy anyway.
Is Codename Lungo not a HTC Sensation ROM?

Oke thank you.
I will download the stock firmware from sammobile, and try to flash it with Odin. I just want it to work again (root or no root) and not have to buy a new phone

Don't thank me till it's working! Once new ROM flashed and booted, let me know.
By the way, don't use the .PIT file if one is included in the download, if you get PDA, PHONE and CSC, put in appropriate sections of Odin and flash, if just one file, put in PDA section and flash.

[Q] Help a poor soft bricked S2 out?

So a few days ago my galaxy s2 shut it self off and wouldn't start again. Wouldn't charge the battery, just sat there with the empty battery symbol. I by passed the battery and directly wired a cut usb cord onto the battery terminals. It worked! But now wont boot past the "Samsung Galaxy s2" white on black logo screen. I have reflashed the PDF, PHONE, and CSC though odin with 10 different files I found around these forms and across the internet. Nothing made any difference and it still sticks on the logo screen. Anything else I could try before sending it away? :/
Also I never installed any custom ROM or firmware on it, it was totally stock. I am also with Bell in Canada if that helps.
If you've already tried flashing stock firmware via Odin, probably not. Does it successfully flash in Odin, I.E do you get the green pass box & the phone auto reboot ? If not, copy/paste (or type) the details from the 'message' section in Odin when it's doing the flash here.
Yep every time I have done it it has said passed and my phone has restarted.
I followed this thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458,
And did everything including flashing the bootloader, except using the .pit and re-partitioning because I'm afraid I will hard brick it, but it still had the same result. Won't boot past logo and wont go into recovery only download.
Why did you flash the bootloader ? You don't normally do that save for very specific situations.
OK. So you followed that guide using files from Samfirmware. I have absolutely no idea about files from that site or how they work/what to do with them as I've flashed anything from that site & doubt I would.
Given you can still get into download mode, only thing I can suggest is to download a stock rom from Intratech's thread from here & flash in PDA section of Odin if links work, if not, download stock firmware for your carrier/country with the PC version of Checkfus & flash that in the PDA section of Odin. In both cases, only one file and no mucking around.
I flashed the bootloader because that very official looking guide told me to lol
"Have you done everything correctly until now? Then...
Congratulations on recovering your phone!
You deserve some cake afterwards, and some rest
Now, if your problem is the NAND rw coruption, and wasn't fixed by the above fix, then follow these steps :
5) Download the Kernel. Flash it in PDA. Without ticking Re-Partitioning
6) Successful? Nice, hope is still present.
7) Flash the recovery package, following steps 1-4 This should fix your issue. If it does not, then :
WARNING : FLASHING A BOOTLOADER IS DANGEROUS. FLASH WITH EXTREME CAUTION.
8) Download the Bootloader. Flash it as PDA or Bootloader in ODIN. Without ticking Re-Partitioning
9) Flash the Kernel, as in step 5
10) Flash the recovery package, like in steps 1-4 And that will fix any of your issues
I hope that this guide was helpful, and if it was, hit the thanks button! "
Because my phone did not get bricked by trying to use custom ROM I feel its different then everyone else's problems here. Maybe its a bad app, is there a way to hard wipe my phone from where I am? Thanks very much for responding btw.
Guides don't necessarily work the way they're supposed to is all I'll say.
No, your problem is not different to every other case like this we see here maybe 20 times a week. A bad flash/not being able to get into recovery/can get into download mode is a bad flash/not being able to get into recovery/can get into download mod.
You're not going to wipe it without getting into recovery. You could try and flash a rooted kernel that has recovery (CFRoot ?), but frankly best advice I can give you is to do what I suggested in my last post.
You're welcome
Ok I got check fus and found the firmware for my phone. I'l try using it to flash in ODIN but it does't seem like it will be any different then the other 10 firmwares I have tried
When you flash it, make sure you're plugged into a powered/mainboard USB port on your PC, make sure Kies/it's processes aren't running in Windoze Task Manager (if they are, kill them. You need the drivers that come with Kies to use Odin, but they mess with each other if they're running @ the same time), ensure you're running Odin as admin, and use the USB cable which came with the phone if you have it.
I did exactly what you said, still stuck in bootloop.

And still can't get into recovery? Usually a full wipe will alleviate a boot loop.
If you're now in boot loop, the ROM is corrupted, think of it as a Windows loading forver. Just push a new ROM compatible to your device, I recommend stock for now, and see if it will boot normally.
I only experience boot loop once during my CM 7 installation, I reinstalled the ROM and everything works perfectly.

You obviously did not do what I said.
I said "If you did everything and it didn't work, proceed to flash the Kernel and/or the bl".
You did 't use the .PIT and re-partition. If you use it, it'll fix the phone.
Have you flashed the kernel?
Plus, you have a soft bricked phone, period. The only different thing from others is how it happened
Flash the kernel. And then the recovery package. Without the .PIT. If that doesn't work, use the .PIT.
Just a FYI : I once soft bricked my phone when flashing a stock ROM. So yeah, soft bricks happen with almost all ROMs that are messy.
I did flash the kernel and the recovery package. At this point I haven't voided the warranty and I'm scared the flashing the .pit will do so. But I guess if that's the only thing I haven't done and you say it will fix it I will. I should use the one from the recovery package right? It will work on my Bell Canada I9100M?
Are you able to enter recovery by pressing volume up + home + power?
Have a read of my Helper Post...
Happened to me yesterday. Follow this:
1. Get Siyah kernel in .tar and flash it through odin.
2. Enter recovery and go to mount. In there format /data, /system, /cache, format all. Reboot recovery.
3. Search for a wipe script in xda forum ex: sgs2 rom wipe or something like that. Put it in your phone and go to recovery and install it.
4. Boot in download mode and flash latest version of stock rom downloaded from sammobile.com
Thats how I soved mine. Good luck.

Let's save the pit file flash for last.
People see "PIT" and go like "oh, I gotta flash this".
They must think it's a magic file, or something.

Forgive me for barging in, but if am correct, flashing PIT files is needed only when u have messed up the partitions on ur device, right?
Would that happen if I flash another phone's firmware, like say an i9300?

Yeah, corrupted nand and all.
The thing is that people just love flashing pit files, my guess is they think "new ROM, maybe it needs more room, besides I've unzipped the .rar and the pit file is there. Gotta flash that in order for the ROM to work".
And then.....

What GSII Model do you use? The Galaxy SII I9100 or the SII I9100G?

If the update has failed, selecting recovery mode in Kies does not work and Odin throws out errors; I suggest you hand the phone into your nearest Samsung service center since you have stated that your phone was never rooted or modified.

Sometimes when Kies is running it can cause problems for Odin (Or so I have read), so what you can try is: Open Task Manager and then end every Kies activity that is running on your computer and then try again flashing through Odin while you are in Download mode (don`t forget to press volume up to continue through the warning) and if this goes wrong, copy the steps Odin has made until the error, so we can see where Odin has a Problem.

I didn`t said start kies, just kill all processes running connected to kies and then flash again..
but it`s your call and about warranty it should be still there if you said you haven`t rooted your phone and never installed any Rom on it. If they ask just tell them you tried to update via Kies and some weird error occurred and that`s the last thing that happened because I heard that some service centers won`t repair your phone even if you tried to flash original Samsung Firmware.

Well you downloaded a Stock Firmware already which has the brickbug but it can only brick your phone when you do this:
Here's how to BRICK your phone :
-Flash the 4.0.4 firmware with/without its pit file
-Use any 4.0.4 based kernel - stock or modified (ex cf-root)
-Go to cwm and do a wipe data & wipe cache and/or perform a nandroid restore of any previous firmware
=> The process begins normally but it may/will switch off at any time without waking up ever again !!!!!
But since you don`t want to root your phone, you can`t go into CWM, so bricking your phone with the firmware you downloaded shouldn`t happen but if you want to be sure, just download any 4.0.3 Stock Firmware from Samfirmware and flash via Odin

Listen, you have the right file for your phone, but it appears the flash failed part way through.
Are you plugged directly into a usb port on your computer? (i.e. not using a hub, or a port on the keyboard or monitor, etc?)
If not, make sure to use a direct port on the computer.
If so, I'd try a different port on the computer, and maybe try a different usb cable.
Not a direct port, bad port, and bad cable can all cause bad flashes.

I don't know why you'd want to go all the way back down to 2.3.3, but sure, that should work. Provided, of course, you downloaded a firmware meant for your phone.

[Q] Galaxy Toolbox Firmware Question

Hello, I am new to these forums, so please be kind .
I have my S5830i rooted, and running CWM. I have three quick questions:
My phone came branded and locked to the O2 UK network. It contains all of the branding and rubbish that comes associated with it (Boot animations, etc)
However, I have used galaxy toolbox to network unlock my phone, so now in theory I should be able to use any network. What I want to do is flash the BTU (open) uk firmware from sammobile.com, in order to remove all of this branding. However, I have heard stories about how you should never flash BTU firmware onto a network locked device. Therefore, my first question is: Has Galaxy Toolbox unlocked my phone as if I had got it done by the people at the O2 shop? And does this mean I can safely flash BTU rom's?
My second question is:
I see that after ODIN installs a rom, you are taken straight to the recovery menu. Once you get here, do you have to wipe data and cache, or can you just reboot straight away using the "reboot system now" option?
My final question is:
The BTU firmware I have downloaded is only one file. According to sammobile, I should put this into the PDA section of ODIN. Is this the same as Flashing a multi firmware file, (like with PHONE and CSC) or are those two put into the PDA for convenience? The file I am trying to download is here: www(dot)sammobile(dot)(com)/firmwares/3/?download=16050
Thanks for helping me out, and do not hesitate to ask if I need to clarify anything that I have said.

Yes, you can use Galaxy Toolboox to unlock your phone and its safe for you to install BTU roms. Its always best to go to Stock Recovery Mode and do "Wipe data/ factory reset" once you flash stock rom through odin. As for flashing the stock rom, use this guide,
Know your Device:Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i ~Root~Odin~CWM~ROM LIST
Do post the result. Hope I Helped
Thanks
Thanks for the reply! One final question - Some tutorials use a *.pit file, and some don't. As far as I can understand, the PIT file is used for re-partioning. Do I really have to use this, or will it work fine without? The instructions on the sammobile site don't mention this.
Finally, will flashing the stock rom restore your kernel back to the stock rom? I am asking this because If I flash a kernel like Rafael's, will flashing the stock rom remove it?
Thanks for the help!
Sorry for the double post, but...
The flashing guide details where to get the firmware files from. However, I have already downloaded my firmware from sammobile, (which came with one file, the PDA,) and I don't exactly want to have to download it all over again from a different site. Are the sammobile firmwares safe/okay to use? Thanks again for the help!

You can actually try both. Use the following guide. If the single file installation doesn't work, then you can use the multi-file installation using the pit file. Here is the link,
How to Unbrick/Flash Official Firmware on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i Using Odin
Whenever you flash the stock rom back, all the previous data will be lost. If you flash a Rafael kernel and then flash stock rom back, yes, it will remove the Rafael kernel. After you flash the stock rom, you will have the stock kernel.

Is there any difference between splitted firmware, or just the one file?
Because otherwise I see no point
That one file is like a zip, which has the required Modem, PDA and CSC files packed into 1. You will need to split the file in order to flash properly.
I had tried to use splitFUS2 to split the firmware into multiple files, but the website it was hosted on has now been taken down, so I can't download it. Do you know of anywhere that I can get the latest version from, as that is the one that supports our device?
Also, I was told to put the single file I downloaded into the "PDA" section - Surely this would do the same as flashing it in it's individual parts? Please correct me if I am wrong. It is a .md5 file I am putting under the "PDA" section .
Thanks for the help everyone!

So is there actually any difference between flashing it has one file under PDA, or splitting Modem and CSC from it? Will flashing a single file have exactly the same effect as a multi file? Because otherwise it all seems like a waste of time
Thanks for putting up with me, as I am such a noob!

I have teated both of the methods , 1.If you flash that whole zip , Odin will say Fail and it will not flash .
2.If you flashed that splited files then it will boot properly and Odin will say Pass , hope you now get cleared .
Okay, I think I understand now...
You cannot flash a single *.md5 that you are given from sammobile (although that thread you linked to had mentioned Odin had been uodated to support it)
So I went on thr splitFUS page, and went through the installation structions. I have cygwin installed, and the stock ROM on my computer. HOWEVER, the download for splitfus is down, as it was hosted on hotfile. (Which was taken down) Therefore, please could someone here re-upload version 2.11 (Or whatever the latest version is) so that I can split my firmwares?
Thanks!

In Wipe package it will erase your all data & in Non wipe it will not.
Okay, I have now split the firmware using SplitFUS2 into the 3 respective parts - PDA, CSC and MODEM. Here ISNA screenshot of what it looks like:

}
(My phone isn't plugged in yet, but I know the drivers work fine! )
Is this all set up properly? I am using version 3.07 (As you can see from the screenshot) - Is this the correct version?
Assuming that it is, are these steps to follow correct?
Boot into download mode.
Plug into PC,and press "start"
Phone will receive firmware, then restart into RECOVERY MODE.
Wipe data, and wipe cache.
Reboot system now
Are these instructions correct? Sorry that I am being paranoid - I really don't want to break my device, but I also want to know that I can go back to stock from with ease, if anything was to go wrong.
As always, thanks a ton!

I717 revert to att stock from custom rom

I want to revert an ATT i717 rooted, with CWM ver.6, custom KK rom back to ATT stock rom (I did try KIES but it didn't recognize phone as I understand due to rom being custom.) I don't have a back up of the original stock rom. All download links I have come across are dead. Need help to locate working DL links.
2-Wifey has the same exact phone rooted with CWM ver. 6 with stock JB rom. I am wondering if I take a back up of that and flash it to my phone if that will be ok or if that's a chance for a brick?

You have posted in the development forum. Try Q&A.
Also if you can't find Odin file here, try to search google. You may find an active somewhere else. Other than that, you can wait. if I ever get off work I could probably scrounge up a copy to my dropbox.
Let me know if you find. Sorry, I won't have time until tomorrow afternoon . In middle of a work marathon on 2 jobs.

Finally d/l at work, odined the rom and encountered "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue, Please select recovery mode in kies and try again"
Phone cannot enter recov. mode nor download mode. I tried kies and 2 issues came up 1 my phone has no serial number, I entered wife's S/No. (same exact phone, both made in Korea) but the second problem is that kies wants me to turn off phone, and enter d/l mode which isn't coming up.
I tried my JIG thingy but same screen comes up.
How do I fix this?

Recovery, same deal, try to boot normally = same. Even a jig gets the DL mode first screen and then bam! Is there any way to fix this or Is the phone at the point of jtag repair, or worse a brick?

On my phone SM-G973F I have installed Android 11. System is root with Magisc. When I have root with Magisc, I can't have TWRP. If I have TWRP, I can't root with Magisc.

Hey, I just came across your thread to revert to stock & thought maybe you can help me out. I was flashing some rom on my s10 & it bricked. So I went to Odin & tried flashing the stock firmware. Now the issue is that even though the stock firmware is successfully flashing, the phone won't boot at all. After odin finishes flashing, the phone reboots to show an erasing screen. The cycle runs for lesser than a second, freezes & the screen turns off after which no matter what I try I can't reboot the phone. I can still go into recovery & download mode but can't boot the system. Any help would be appreciated like crazy!
I had a similar problem. With Frija app, again I downloaded the Installation Pack for Android. After that, I installed Android with Odin and everything was okay. I have chosen CSC, I did not choose HOME CSC.
