Will this phone be available for purchase in Canada - HTC Droid DNA

Does anybody know if this phone will become available for purchase in Canada? I am not seeing any news on any sites about this phone becoming available for purchase on any sites.

Doubt the "DNA" will, start watching for news on the Deluxe.

Yeah, isn't the deluxe just the international version of this phone? Same phone but different name?

I haven't read into it much. As far as I know, some details haven't been announced. It could have different ROM or have a sd slot like the Butterfly etc. I doubt there will be any large difference though (granted many people consider the sd slot "large")

China Scam...
I'm half suspicious you are the scammer responsible for that page, and you've only posted to get more hits, since I can't believe anyone with even an iota of critical thinking would need to actually ask that question.
If you do pull the trigger on that one, then I know this nigerian guy who will be keen to be in touch with you, could be quite a lucrative opportunity.
if it looks to good to be true.......chance is this is like many sites in china......con, I used to get loads of ads of these kinds of companies with stuff mega cheap, just google them and see, other chance is that it is a cheap copy.

Yeah, I know you are desperate to have the phone like the rest of us. You're not the only one here to have rational thought overtaken by gadget-lust, you should see the number of guys here who purchased 32GB microSD cards for "amazing prices", only to receive fakes.
When you're buying electronics you should really only ever stick to reputable sellers - anything online that looks too good to be true is a sham.

Why all the hate ?

I have been to a couple forums trying to discuss this phone. and I always come across arguments over what version is better. seems like there is a lot of animosity on both sides. but mostly on the international side I was just wondering why. we are all in the note family .we should be united in our love for this great phone. either version so what I'm asking is cant we all get along lol

It's called post-purchase rationalization. When you buy something expensive, you'll naturally defend your reasoning.
Because they purchased their version, they have a case of cognitive dissonance because they won't purchase the AT&T version
A fox sees some high-hanging grapes and wishes to eat them. When the fox is unable to think of a way to reach them, he decides that the grapes are probably not worth eating, with the justification the grapes probably are not ripe or that they are sour (hence "sour grapes"). This example follows a pattern: one desires something, finds it unattainable, and reduces one's dissonance by criticizing it.
As we've seen from many, many benchmarks between the devices, the benchmarks are on par in most regards. The exynos has a slightly better GPU, but the CPU is not quite as power as ours for floating point operations and a few other things.
Oh, and ours is LTE
And I don't want to trash the international but when the international users trash AT&T version it's like really come on man just be happy with what you got or sell it and get the us version and the only really difference that matters the most is the LTE you even know how much faster this thing gonna be lol

Just ignore it though. We'll have mostly separate communities. Development will be separated too.

Why did I buy the international version?
Main reason is I got tired of at&t dragging its feet in releasing it
The processor didn't mean much to me, I don't play games...
LTE? Going to be at least a year til it gets to my market, if that soon.
Updates...I prefer manufacturer updates, over custom roms most of the
time. Manufacturer roms almost always hit WAY before a carrier releases one,
if at all.
Bloat...unless you root, getting rid of carrier installed bloat is next to
impossible LOL.

Almost all of your reasons can be tweaked/altered in some way to match or exceed the international note. We are on a developers forum so I would assume most people are going to take control over their own devices and negate carrier updates and bloat. ATT can try and cripple the device all they want but Ill be flashing a rogers or telus rom as soon as theyre available. Did wonders for my skyrocket.

I bit of overgeneralizing going on. I am on this board and android central and have not seen this although the mods are quick to look at this for "signs". The thread on throttling, which many of us commented on, is way more over the line than this thread has ever been. It is not hate to point out the differences in the phones. They are different and will perform differently. In a few weeks this board will be full of posts why the ATT folks are not happy with their purchase and problems with their GNote, just as on the other forums.
Having said that, the ones who bought the International version should either be happy with their purchase or sell the GNote and get the ATT version if they want that and not try to tear down the ATT model. We get it, it is not a exynos...so what. If you want LTE, which I do, you do not have any other options.
I will be getting the ATT version, provided the reviews are what I expect them to be. (and keeping my International GNote) So I will have both and go back and forth between the forums. There is a lot more similar between the phones (touchwiz) than is different. There is a lot that can be learned from folks who already have the phone, on tips and tricks for example.
The ones who are getting the ATT version should not dismiss the experiences of the International GNote owners and the International GNote owners should not try to put down the ATT version as any less capable a phone as the International. As to what happens on other boards, I do not know or do not care. THIS board has been very civil, so let's all work to keep it that way!
Peace everyone!

No. There is a Korean LTE version but the ATT and Canadian Models are the first with customized LTE radios to be launched outside of Korea I believe. The International GNote is HSPA+.

I did preorder the AT&T version so I'm gonna be right there with you. As others have said, the international version is likely to continue to have a bigger dev community and we don't have the option that I777 users have taken of porting ROMs easily because we won't be running the same hardware. Hopefully there will be enough similarity to other, popular Snapdragon devices that we can get CM9 going in a reasonable timeframe.
The fact is that both devices have advantages and disadvantages, even if some are based more on personal preferences than objective criteria. Any time people feel strongly about their stuff, they will invite flame wars. My advice to rational people is not to take anything said on the internet to heart. Lots of people get heated about things and escalating any sort of conflict on a forum--especially on a forum that is meant to be devoted to development and sharing.

Still the most powerful phone on AT&T (April 2012)

AT&T currently doesn't have a phone that is powerful as the OG Galaxy SII. Sure there is the Note and SkyRocket but they aren't as powerful. I would like to know if this phone is still selling strong. I just bought one. But anyway, this seems to be the best phone AT&T has ever had. Maybe the iPhone 4s comes in second? What do you think?

Seems that everyone else doesn't want to play nice so I'll add my own opinion. I think that the only phone that will be able to give our phone a decent challenge will be the HTC One X when it comes to AT&T supposedly in April. It looks to be a pretty nice phone, hopefully AT&T doesn't mangle it too bad.

Will agree with this one, the only problem some of the other phones that AT&T carries is that they simply bloat them to death and it kind of gives the phones a bad rap when reviewed by alot of the review sites.
Would love to see a review where the majority of the phones are benched/reviewed side by side with stock firmware/rom's vs rooted/custom rom's
I came from a Motorola Atrix to this and it was a definite upgrade. Great phone, and imo atleast for NOW, its the best. I'm sure something will come along soon and trump it, but till then, we're the kings of the mountain.

It does look like a nice phone, and I would have probably gotten it as a 2nd phone if it had a micro sd slot. the S4 chip seems impressive, but I'm sure the next exynos chip will crush it though once it's released
Coming from HTC Dream (G1), it is a step up for me for SGSII. But of couse, AT&T screwed it up with how they managed this device (not reconized it as 4G..DUH!!!). HTC One X seem to be the up to the task to match up to SGSII. But then we'll have to see.
Well coming from an iPhone and inspire this way way way better then any phone I have ever seen att carry.like mention before the HTC one XL may be the only phone to challenge this one(maybe the rumored galaxy s3 ) but not being able to remove the battery is one of its downfalls .
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
Yeah the One X looks like the first HTC phone in a while that could hold up against the Samsung.
The GS III could be earlier this year than last year. If the att variant is as close to the international as the i777 was to the i9100, then the One X will be back-seated quick.
But, the Captivate is still pretty strong after two years. Heck, they had ICS before we did. I would guess the i777 will continue to be popular for about the same timeframe, 2 years.

"Powerful" is in the eye of the beholder. I love my GSII, it is way snappy, but if I am in the bay area (which I am pretty regularly) I cant take advantage of the LTE there. All depends on what you value.

The SD card slot isn't too big of a deal to me because of the fact that the phone should be coming with a 32GB internal storage which is what my S2 has with the SD card added. The non removable battery could be more of a problem if it has the typical HTC battery life. If I didn't have my S2 right now and was ready for an upgrade I'd definitely give the One X a chance.
Just read the specs on HTC One, unless I missed something, it looks like HTC made the display .2" bigger than the GSGII Skyrocket just so they don't look like they are behind Samsung. Ya it is a nice phone but not nice enough to leave SGSII.

[Q] Anyone here switch from the Verizon S3 to the DNA?

If you had the Verizon S3 (not another carrier)
Can you please compare :
1. Audio Quality
2. Reception (which drops more calls or fades in and out).
3. Battery Life (preferably battery life based on total talk time than surfing or playing games).
Hmm I don't even have to own the DNA to answer
1. Call quality has always been great for me on HTC
2. Samsung cdma radios don't compare to htc
3. Battery life has, been stated to be the same or marginally worse than the gs3.
Gs3 is a great device. Prob gonna come down to what u like better, sense or touch wiz. But DNA should be a very nice device.
I'll be able to share more once I get it in my hands this coming week, should be here by the 20th 21st the latest. I love my S3 nothing wrong with it but I love new devices and keeping up with technology. I will say off the back build quality has always always been better with HTC.
I'll share more once I get the phone!

As far as 1 goes - MANY of their devices had problems with BT over the years - you could hear fine but the person you were calling would get reduced volume etc - some of them they fixed this issue with firmware updates.
As far as 2 goes, the EVO on Sprint was great - the EVO 3D had similar problems to the S3 for reception.
When some people get the phone, we'll hopefully have some detailed analysis of talk time comparisons.

Take my advice with a grain of salt then but I am sure it will be an accurate answer to your question about this mythical phone until its release date and the masses own it.
at what point do I have to currently own the gs3 to be able to tell you about it. Maybe I have had extensive hands on with the device in such extent that I feel I can accurately talk about it.
I pre ordered mine, will get it soon. Only thing is that I wont be able to move my microSD card from the S3.
I just hope that ifixit teardown will reveal a hidden sdcard slot in the back some where then I will be happy.

Yes, but someone is selling a micro sd card specifically for the DROID dna leading to some speculation that the slot exists, just no opening for it.

This. I find it extremely likely that the board is the same as the Butterfly's meaning there's the pins for a sd slot to be put in or possibly even an actual sd slot that isn't accessible from the outside, yet there's no way that ebay seller knows of this.

Any way to check for screen banding issues on new V30+?

I'm going to get the tmobile v30+ on Friday and I know this device has the possibility of screen banding. Could anyone please tell me how I could this to see if I have a good model before I walk out of the store with it? I know it has to do with low brightness you can see something I think. I believe the earliest models had some screen issues and the v30+ would be guaranteed the newest batch. Is there anything else I need to be looking for when I go in the store and pick it up?
Thanks!

So... Is there any signs that I need to look for when I receive my unit in the store to make sure it's not a bad unit?

In store? Not really. Just turn it on and start using it like a normal person. You can do all the of the weird dinking around that some people do but a lot of it is real head scratchers as to why they even do it. A lot of things I see complained about are either use cases that would fall outside of how a phone is normally intended to be used or someone not understanding how the tech works or is set up. Paranoia is strong this year.

Dead pixel test is a good way to go. Tap the screen to scroll through colors and inspect from there....
