Please give more details like what android version and kernel you were using. And from your signature are you using S1?
Sent from my potato running a potato.

Try Odin happen to me once PC didn't recognize but Odin still did. Go to stickies section in Sgs2 section find stock ROM flash after I plugged in to kies and it did the rest. This method worked for me twice when all I had was a flickering black screen. Hope it works with U. Try to put into download mode three bottom press. PM if U need more help.

Its the sgs2 from my friend android version 4.0.4 stock rom
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium

Guessing that you have hard bricked the phone, due to doing wipe on stock rom.
Not much you can do, a new motherboard is required

Can you enter download mode?
Download mode is entered by Volume Down + Home + Power pressed simultaneously when your phone is off.

Sounds like your motherboard is toast. you got warrenty? maybe theres hope

nope

no compassion at all.
If you had read just a little bit about rooting / flashing, you would have known that you should not do a CWM factory reset on stock 4.0.4 rom.
Just like here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756242
and here:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/hard-brick-bug-on-galaxy-s-ii-and-note-leaked-ics-kernels/
...and so on.
I guess you have to tell your friend that you ruined his phone

okay, but i have one more question, i saw on youtube how to use odin, and quite simple. but, i think they use odin to upgrade the firmware from old firmware to newest firmware. Is this also applies to flashed Galaxy Ace too? now my android version is 2.3.7 (icecream sunday). but when i saw on sammobile.com, the latest firmware is 2.3.4, is that matter?

U get bootloops only if ur flashing a rom in cwm. Its not that important to factory reset the phone if ur flashing stock rom in odin bcoz odin does it for you when flashing d rom. System is formatted, new dalvik cache is built, cache partition is formatted etc...etc... all this is done by odin.

[Q] Did I just brick my phone?

Well, I just received my phone today and I decided to root it by following a guide. Little did I know that firmware I was rooting was not meant for this phone. Now the phone shows the Samsung screen for a split second and then it turns off.
Is there anything I can do to restore it back to normal? I only have access to download mode right now.

If you can get into download mode you're ok. You need to flash a stock rom and you'll be back to normal. Don't flash chainfire's root from the international thread because the kernel is not the same.

Black screen after boot! HELP (URGENT

Hi, I'm new here so bare with me.
I just rooted my Samsung S3-I9300 hours ago. And I was pumped up, what I did later on is I installed bootanimation and I didn't quite understand how to use it and I still don't, but in the end I got it to work but the logo was too small but this isn't the problem. I entered recovery mode and I don't know what I extracted or installed and I rebooted my device and all I hear is the Samsung booting music and that's all. My screen is black.
Your help is appreciated.

Yes, it is booting. I can see the back button and the options button lit. It's just black.
BUMP.
I would probably wipe data in recovery mode, and last case scenario flash official firmware from sammobile.com.
This will make you lose all your saves and stuff though.
Wipe cache and/or full wipe. If still nothing, reflash ROM. It happened to me long time ago, nothing to worry about.

If you didnt make a backup, yes, use ODIN to flash a stock ROM.
You can find out which rom you currently have in settings/about phone.
Download the rom from sammobile.com and flash with ODIN.

If it still freezes and reboots on stock then you have bad memory blocks in your nand memory.

Change your Kernel. I am using Revolution S5 without any issue. Better install LiteGX kernel. Do not play with Kernel if your knowledge is less. LiteGX is just a plug & play Kernel.
I got the same issue.
I´m on it. I will try latest official. You should check if your emmc chip is possible broken. Just load the app emmc check and google about "SDS S3"
I´ll post a solution if i can get it solved.
