The title says it all. All of us have experienced many different UI's, such as Sense, Touchwiz, Timescape, Nxt, Miui, Aosp, all of which have gotten old. Now, I bring you the different, the one with great looks, Flyme OS. There will be a version for both Arc and Pro. Ofcourse this is a port of Flyme OS on the Meizu MX, a heavily modded / themed version of Android 4.0.4, there are bound to be many bugs, here are a few that i noticed. Now for the Play, this is a first release, so please report bugs.
Huge shoutout to @GalaxyUser for his help with pre-port

Looks good, it looks like MIUI around the edges, sooooo this is for CDMA? as GSM says it doesn't work?
If you make a GSM working version i'll gladly test it! Great work!
Love to see more developing for Play

I Always wanted to try Flyme OS ....
I might try this sometime.

I tried a few days ago to port this rom (gsm version) and I succeeded, but I haven't realized yet, but already there is no sense, but in my port gsm/call/data and sms works.
By the way, great work.
Congrats...

This is the gsm version, as it says in the thread title. I don't own the play which is why I can't say if gsm. Works because I couldn't find a willing tester.

Well, you own the play, maybe that's why

That looks sweet, I especially like how there's music controls everywhere (or at least in a lot of the different windows).

Ne1 tested yet and confirm gsm and data? Is the kernel built to work specifically for this rom or can we use other kernels such as CM9?
Sent from my R800i using xda premium

downloading right now, will report if gsm and data work later.
1 EDIT: it looks like it uses fxp kernel (at least same kernel image)
2 EDIT: it does not like my phone... it won't boot. :/
3 EDIT: computer does not see the phone, so no logcat.

Not bad, nice work! It looks like a mix between MIUI and AOSP.
I notice you also build for Neo L which says GSM is working, so GSM should also work here.

So will lupus CM9 work? Dun really use fxp kernels.. I always look for alternatives. Can u test? If it works I'm gonna download and try.
Sent from my R800i using xda premium

That's a shame....
Since it's an ICS ROM, maybe you should try and kang it with stock ICS for Neo L instead of CM9? I would try and build AOSP ICS but I'm focusing on AOSP JB now.

*Disclaimer*
In no shape way or form am I responsible if you brick your own phone...somehow. This is the kind of thing you do at your own risk. Also, please go easy on me as this is my very first ROM and I have been working on it for almost 2 weeks.
This little beauty is just something thrown together in no specific order.
it is a non-sense 2.1 hence no flash player so don't ask about it as i may just use sense as my next attempt but we will see.
This is really meant just to be something I like but I posted up here for a few friends abroad that I know want it.
and dont forget you do NEED ROOT!
Release 2 {this is a bare essentials ROM)
-ADW launcher added
-kept gallery 3D as I enjoy it (included both for those who love it)
-dev tools and spare parts working
-fixed the bad xml so all market apps work
-updated adhosts file so hopefully no ads
-all the great ringtones we know and love plus the stock as well
-apps2sd support just not for ext4
-added netcat as busybox wasn't enough for me
known issues
-wifi tether not working ... (removed for now)
-crappy camera from older UIs
-keyboard no ? or /

and let me know what you all think....

from scratch hence first attempt lol
Flashed this rom and here is what I found:
Bluetooth is working, WiFi is not; unable to start.
Camera working with flash.
Hard keyboard works except:
No lights. No FN and Shift indicator. no ? or /
Ive tried both radio images (7.09.35.10 and 7.08.35.04)
Neither seem stable, my connections bounces from 3G to H(HSPDA?) and back.
I was barely able to sign into Google. (build.prop issue?)

[SK17] [ROM] NicROM 1 (based on CM7.1)

Introducing me and my new rom:
When I bought my new smartphone I thought: I'll root and flash it. The first thing I didn't like was I had to pay to unlock the bootloader. I can't solve that, I had to pay.
The second thing was that there aren't ROM's based on CM, and I love CyanogenMod Settings.
So I decided to become a ROM developer, just for create a ROM based on CM7.1 with some bugfixes added.
But first of all: known bugs I couldn't solve (yet?)
The camera doesn't work fine (you have to exit camera to change between front and back camera, you can't use flash (althought the torch works) and it doesn't work as well as the stock camera while taking a photo)
Keyboard lights doesn't turn on
Ok. That's all. I have added some bugfixes and some scripts which will
Improve the battery
Improve the speed in internet
Tweak the 3G signal
Increase the overall response
And other minor changes
And I have change it's default theme to make it look a little like htc sense (I love it )
And now, a few screenshots:

I'm imagining what are you thinking: and haw can I get it? (hahaha)
Of course, download it:
Download
And just a last thing: when you turn it on the first time, remember going to Settings / CyanogenMod Settings / Performance / CPU settings and set the Max CPU frequency in 1024 MHz (I have it in 921)
And thats all!!
Edit: I didn't like how the images were...
Edit (2): more explicit changes
Huh?
Havent you tried FXP's rom? Its the official CM7.2 rom....
Anywho... Welcome and happy to see new people becoming dev's
Oh, I hadn't seen it.
Thanks
Keep Developing nicom.mt
I'll try to adapt camera and keyboard backlight from the CM7.2 rom. Would it be possible??

there is only one thing
i wanted to play need for speed shift
it works but after a while without touching the screen (braking) it turns of the screen
And there is an other Problem...
My wifi doesnt work too...
For which Kernel is this Rom Made for?

Hi guys,
currently using FXP52.
How is the battery life compared to it and/or compared to stock rom.
Greetz,
scheich
This rom is for the cyanogenmod kernel. I use the kernel form the last rom, but you can choose...
For me, the battery works during two days, using whatsapp included.
I love need for speed too, i have nfs shift, but i use to play in profesional mode, so i have to brake a lot of times. If you want to play, i'd recommend you to change the screen configuration, but remember change it again after play or use the power button to turn off the screen

Thx man
I had used a custom kernel that naybe had some minor problems now i know that i should use the cm7 kernel
Hey, is it possible that you put the latest fixes from the FXP54 (camera, backlight for hw keyboard, etc.) in your CM7.1?
I am asking because I want to change to this rom as the battery life of the FXP54 is horrible and wanted to test this one out. Will give it a try soon and give some feedback.
Best regards
All the files in your ROM are odexed
I want to install Stock Galary 3D camera, email client and stock keyboard back in System/app folder but due to odex files the installation fails
I tried to use apk with their .odex files too
Ex- i want to use stock conversation.apk so i tried to install it - FAILS
So i used Conversation.apk + Conversation.odex that i created by using Odex-CWM files and put it in System/app folder with proper permissions and rebooted but it was of no use
I need help to install all these stock features ... Please reply... !
Hi, nice to see another CM rom, i hope this one is not so bad as FXP and on sk17i keyboard is working and it's stable? how about battery life? does it last for 2 days at least?
thanks.

All apps in the cm official rom are odexed, so I can't deodex them. If you really want to have an app in system/apps, first install it as a normal app (and you will see that apps from the stock rom aren't compatible with cm), and then you'll see the apk to move in data/apps. Just move from data/apps to system/apps the apk you want to have in system, and then shutdown and restart the mini pro.

My battery, when I use the phone to whatsapp, send sms and call, can be two days turned on. The keyboard layout is the english one, and it's backlight can be turned on and off with two commands in the console. Look for them, I don't remember where I found them...

PER-APP-DPI/LAYOUT. This is not tablet mode! Hybrid engine allows you to target apps individually. You get to pick their actual layouts which can tranform content drastically. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with build.prop hacks or DPI changes. We list all layouts an app brings, you choose one, its as easy as that. It does not matter if your device runs itself in Phone-, Phablet or Tablet-UI, your apps will always look as you like. On top of that you can scale apps, to fit your screen, that way you can even bring full fledged tablet apps and make them run perfectly. Nothing will break, nothing will shrink, your market will be fine. Additionally we have rewritten many parts of the android framework and fixed countless of AOSP bugs to make way for these modifications - our "tablet mode" runs better on a phone than on a real tablet, that is guaranteed.
PER-APP-COLOR, Paranoidandroids newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel. See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.

If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

No. It also needs changes in the framework.
Best to go to a nightly from maniac witch include this app and has the latest cm things.
This reminds me to try working on this again. Had a buzzy vacation.
There are some bugs still present. So on latest Quarx that it now has a On/Off button in the right corner which i like.
Is it just me or if the signal is weak it switches to next presest? The radio i listen has a rather poor signal ( it's kinda new but plays classic Rock ). So this should be an option at least.
Still a great job. If you need help testing count me in, i use Radio daily.

There are some bugs still present. So on latest Quarx that it now has a On/Off button in the right corner which i like.
Is it just me or if the signal is weak it switches to next presest? The radio i listen has a rather poor signal ( it's kinda new but plays classic Rock ). So this should be an option at least.

Maniac is working almost daily on this app. His latest work is in quarx rom. I was trying to do some changes I would like but am a bit buzzy and learning takes a long time.
I will surely post you if I got something and post your bugs here.
I've tried the FM app on a MB525 using Paranoid Android 2. I get FC when I try to start the app (with headphones on). Any ideas?

It needs a framework change. (From here)
You need to supply it to the dev of Paranoid.
The latest version in the CM10 roms include the latest changes from maniac, but doesn't include the widget.
Edit: you also need the FMRadioService.apk and FM radio binary, check the original post.
Anyone can try this new one?

This app needs a framework change. Sins wiui uses the miui framework, witch is closed source, it is not possible with this app. Don't know if it could work somehow...

v1.1 has install option for the View. Thought I'd test it. Here's what I found;
1-no 3/4G
2-internal storage unusable (no space available/unwritable)
3-SDCard not seen
If I get the time I'll look at it but thought I'd let you know. Let me know either way if View development will be continued.

True since this is a remake of Dexter's ROM it does work on the View. But since i don't have a view i will not test on it. I will release an update tommorow. This will also work on the View. Try it out and see what's not working

Tried the ROM today.. Oh my god, it's LAGGY! I don't know what could cause that on a CLEAN device with no programs installed other than ones included with the ROM, but dayum it lags VERY much. This has only happened to me with DextersJB 1.6, v1.7 runs unbelievably smooth and fast.
But this?
The perfomance of this ROM is just a mess....

Wait, what? So the perfomance is bad because of that fling thing? I though fling referred to the home screen scrolling problem, which was present in DextersJB 1.6 when the screen didn't react to the finger scrolling motion... Sorry if I'm mistaken and bashed the ROM for no reason then
As its a port from an unrelated device I assume HW video decoding is not working ? Can you add to list on page 1 as working or not. Thanks and good luck on this one.
Eagerly waiting for v1.2
I believe there aren't any resize issues present? In DextersJB I faced an issue that the home screen layout is not correct and the left edge is going off-screen a bit + the top row overlays the search bar/all apps button in landscape mode there

It is good that you apologise at the end because this ROM is,on the contrary, VERY good. The only thing that needs taking care of, from the stand point of the end user, is the scrolling. Other than that, I have it on my device for week now and I am VERY happy. Better that Dexter's. Besides, if the other ROM is not going forward then why not support new developers.
Again, this is truly a great ROM. Can't wait to see the updates.
Regards.
