M switching to Samsung Galaxy Note 2 from Xperia range and really loving this beast but missing the great UI of Xperia.
Here I want to share some of the must have apps specifically for Samsung Galaxy Note 2, similar thread I had created for Xperia (you can check the link in my Signature).
I will keep updating the list regularly, if you any awesome app specific to Note 2, please suggest !!

I won't say K9 but to me Aqua Mail been great lately with multiple accounts.
My top5 must have apps are:
Shush - Public Object
Colornote - notes
Sms Backup & Restore - Ritesh Sahu
Power Toggles - Painless Death
Hotmail - Microsoft + SEVEN
Few more added !!

Will update the complete list by tomorrow and coordinate with another Thread Owner and we will work together n will merge the thread.

Ive used the hotmail app since it came out and its served me well for all email I do, obviously only any good with a passport account though

Well, to me it turned out to be great so far. The UI was the crucial point and i guess that's where it stood out.

Currently, no. I might do one in the future, but for now you can purchase the app and try it out for about 10 minutes; Google Play has a 15-minute return window in which if you don't like an app, you can have your purchase refunded (more accurately, never charged) via a button on the app's page.

window transparency
an option to turn off the notification that appears after you close the last note
I'm not too sure about using a widget, since you can only access those from the homescreen... maybe I could display a list of recently opened files in a widget eventually, though.
I've gotten some feedback on there being too many notifications, so I'll see if I can come up with some alternative means (configurable, because I don't want to force it on people) to select individual notes.

Really liking this app. Its nice being able to use this app and sending the notes to my regular note taking app. I'm liking the floating window apps that are starting to come out.

Thanks for buying it. I didn't include any of the licensing or antipiracy libraries because it would be inconvenient, and the app is open source anyway; I definitely appreciate your purchase!
In the last version hovernote now remembers the last folder you were in when you opened or saved a file, and that's the default next time you open the file picker.

Doesn't seem to be working for me then. Just tried it on my TFP and it is going to the SD card every time.

I learnt the Groupcast feature today by chance and loved it. Me and my wife have S III, it's very useful for us. However, we also have other Samsung mobile devices (Galaxy S, Galaxy W and Galaxy Note) around and it would be great to use this feature all over these devices. Is there any chance to add the Allshare Play app to these older devices ? (At least the Note)

I went to a Samsung event this week and saw this too. Pretty cool. Not sure what all you need to make this work, but I know it has NOT been working on my HTC EVO 4G LTE even with the ported TouchWiz 4/NatureUI launcher. Of course it probably would help if I was running a Deodexed ROM. I will try this again after I flash one of those and see if the ported SecLauncher2.apk provides enough of a framework to get any of these S-*/AllShare features to work.
From what I can tell you need at least/some or all of the following:
AllshareDMC.apk
AllshareMediaServer.apk
AllSharePlay.apk
AllshareService.apk
PhaseBeam.apk
SecMediaProvider.apk [?]
Try backing up the originals of those files on your ICS Note and then porting them.
I don't think these features work on GB as they are dependent on WiFi direct and I'm guessing Sammy's implementation for that is probably different on pre-GSIII devices.

I came across this app called Tapestry, that essentially does the same thing as Group Cast, but much much easier to use. My friends have the GSIII, and to setup a Group Cast, password and all, takes 15 clicks. With Tapestry, it only takes 3! Moreoever, it works on any Android device, not just GSIII's, so you can enjoy the experience with all your Android friends. It only supports pictures for now, but that's pretty much what I use it for anyways. Lastly, the coolest feature that Tapestry has that Group Share doesn't have it that in Tapestry, you have synchronized pinch/zoom/panning, and also direct Peer-to-peer download by swiping down on the viewer screen you immediately download the picture onto your phone! What a cool way to share photos! You can check it out here.

This all depends on what you want your watch to do. There are alot of apps but most are not formatted for our Gear S they are more of gear 2 apps that many/many not work for our phone. Apps will increase soon.

There is a lot of space on the Gear S and if you are not planning to add loads of music and photo's you can pretty much download all the free apps and try them out. But what I have installed and find useful are the following:
OPERA MINI Web Browser - ESSENTIAL!
GEAR NAVIGATOR - Very impressive navigation app with a gorgeous interface. Unlike the free HERE app, this can be used for driving. It also has street view, so ideal for walking directions too. It's a paid app but quite cheap
MY NOTES - really good for checklists and notes, synchronised with a nice looking companion app on the phone
SUPATIMER - Get 6 separate timers running on a cool interface
TIMER - Just one convenient timer if you don't like SUPATIMER
TRAVEL TRANSLATOR - Impressive voice recognition translator with loads of different languages
WEARABLE WIDGETS - Show any widget from your phone onto the Gear (Ignore any information that says you have to use the Wearable Widget Clock - the Widget Screen version does work)
COMPASS - Very cool and accurate compass
APPYGEEK - All latest tech news displayed perfectly on the small screen
VOICE MEMO - Very cool voice recorder and speech to text function
GEAR TASKS - Syncs with various different task accounts
FIND MY CAR - Haven't tested it completely yet but seems to save your parking position at least.
CALENDAR PRO - A paid app but definitely the best calndar app for the Gear

As for watch faces, I wouldn't bother with most of them as they just looked lost on the big 2" screen. But I did buy BIG CLOCK LAUNCHER which is cool for a big digital clock with a lot of customisation, with up to eight quick launch shortcuts.
I also downloaded DESK CLOCK, which I use as a more discreet clock and you can change the colours on that too.
Find these apps in the Samsung Gear Store, only accessible via Gear Manager.

Inside gear manager there is "samsung gear apps", this is the place where you will find all the apps for your new device. :>) :highfive:

Becareful thinking this, we thought the same thing with the galaxy gear and the gear 2/gear neo. ........... Still waiting for that amazing app. lol. The only app i think is really cool is the radar watch which will be the first app i get if its avail.
We also noted one thing and i hope this isn't the case with the gear s, in that. The amount of apps you had access was dependent on the "phone device aka Note 3, note 4, s3, s4" all had different apps or one had more then the other. So my note 3 gave me access to some apps i still can't see on my note 4. Including the killer update for flesky which was super cool on my note 3 and gear 2 but not avail for note 4 and gear 2? weird.

Becareful thinking this, we thought the same thing with the galaxy gear and the gear 2/gear neo. ........... Still waiting for that amazing app. lol. The only app i think is really cool is the radar watch which will be the first app i get if its avail.
We also noted one thing and i hope this isn't the case with the gear s, in that. I have a Note 4 and Gear S the apps are about the same I have Flesky messenger on my gear S . Some of my gear 2 things are available for gear S but are not formatted for it. Gear S is still new and they had the "gear app challenge" so we should see more apps soon.
Are there any apps for Gear Fit 2?
There's not much but a few.

They will be there soon!!! And lots from my team, Infinity Watchfaces. The app submission section of Samsung is currently down because I think they are adding new device lists. As soon as it's back up, you should see watch faces start streaming in left and right. Check us out on Instagram... We will be posting many of our new faces for the Fit 2 that will be available soon. Open the Gear Manager app, then click Samsung Galaxy Apps at the bottom. Once in Galaxy Apps there will be a "Gear" tab which has the watch face section in it. Make sure your Fit2 is connect via Bluetooth or you might not be able to access the correct section of Galaxy Apps. Let me know if you need further assistance and I'll be glad to help.

actually, when I do that, I can see the same list of 8 watchfaces which was always there before, not the new names you mentioned. Maybe related: I cannot find the spotify app either. I have the latest spotify on my cellphone and my fit 2 is connected. In another thread, someone pointed out this might be region related? FYI, I'm in Belgium...

Ah, yes - this could be a location thing. It takes time for the apps to trickle out to the different markets and they just hit in the US this morning. Another variable is the type of phone you are connecting the Gear Fit2 to. When submitting the binary files for the watch faces, we select compatible devices (aka: select all). This is what makes it show up in Galaxy Apps on that particular device. Right now it lists 62 devices - when the Gear S2 lists 126. What type of phone are you connecting to?

the main thing which I'm missing is a calendar app. I need to be able to quickly check my next meetings and where they are...
I dont seem to have the FIND MY PHONE App....its not listed in the GEAR App on my Phone, and doesnt show up on the Fit 2....What Gives?

I'll put in a ticket to see why they are not showing up in your location and when they might be available! Might not hear back until Monday depending on Korea and if anyone is working in dev support this weekend over there.
