Possibility for HTCDev unlock....maybe.. - HTC Droid DNA

I sent an email to htcdev.com inquiring why the DNA wasn't unlockable, here is the response I got:
Dear [ME],
Thank you for contacting HTC Technical Support,

Hm, that is interesting considering it was working until today. To me, that seems like it might just be something of a form letter to placate people but who knows?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing...i sent them a reply mentioning that it worked until today and asking for some more clarification

That's just some bull crap response to make you happy and give you some hope that they might unlock it lol. I wouldn't bet on that for anything. I would like to see what they say back to what you said though.

Lol i'm thinking you're right, I got that first response about 5 minutes after I contacted them....now its been about 45 minutes since I replied to their response and I haven't heard back from them yet

yea, dont hold your breath

HTC 's default response it's to "stay tuned". I asked them why the Thunderbolt had no ICS in June and that's the same response I got. And yet here we are and that phone will never see an official ICS release.

I just thought WTH...
I decided to mail them as well just to show growing interest... I did mention how it was possible already so it being a new phone is not an answer to why its not up yet. lol

So....they're blaming Verizon:
Dear [ME],
Thanks for your reply [ME],
I understand your frustration; However the HTC DNA is a new phone, it is discretion of the carrier to unlock the phone or allow the unlock codes on Official Development pages.
Thanks for your continuous support of our products and services. Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us through

Please take 2 mi to email HTC about locked bootloaders.

I would like to get everone to email them and maybe we can get them to act on this a bit quicker.
This is the response I got;
Good question, Mike. We definately understand the concern regarding the phones with bootloaders that are currently locked.
Unfortunately, prior to the decision to refrain from locking bootloaders, the devices had already been shipped to their appropriate vendors, and it was too late to change the software on the phones.
As much as I would love to provide you with a solid answer regarding when the encryption/lock will be removed from our bootloaders, headquarters has not made any official announcements regarding this. Though, once this decision is made, we'll definately also announce this through our website, as well as Facebook & Twitter, as well. Stay tuned; we'll definately let you know, as soon as the information becomes available.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us, Mike.

The Guy Whom Works For ASUS

I thought someone on here worked for ASUS... Gary or something. Why doesn't that person step up and help us with the bootloader problems so we can unlock our devices. It is quite BS that I send my device in for a simple RMA and am sent back an un-unlockable POS. Please someone shed some light on the situation and tell me where this jerk off has been.
And before anyone says I am over reacting take a look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764917
Thanks
Well... since you know such a thread exists, why create a new one to talk about this? Why not just post in that thread?

Because if you would take the time to read his thread, you would see that anyone who posts and is not him or ASUS_USA their post will be deleted.
And if you are talking about the petition forum, I am looking for the moron who works for ASUS and will not help us fix our problems. I have tried contacting him and ASUS_USA and neither have replied, that is why I am seeking help.

wow. it's a##hats like you that have really brought down the community quality lately.
Gary is not here to petition to ASUS about your problems, but to communicate what information he does have, and to relate user experience to the company he works for, and the fact that he/they bother/s to do this at all shows great commitment to the product, and the dev/rooter/flasher/android-nerd community in general.
or perhaps your coming off sounding like a 12 yr old with entitlement issues is unintentional, and actually a fact.
we, as a community, do not need you, or your input.

HTC REZOUND HELP THREAD
This thread was created for the sole purpose to help any and all in need of assistance with their Rezound be it bricking, rooting, etc. Any question you may have related to your Rezound can be posted here whether you feel it is dumb or not. This thread is to be a source of answers and I DO tolerate repeated questions. I want this to be a friendly environment with full intent on helping anyone within the Rezound community. I do not tolerate flaming or trolling of any kind and I will see to it personally that such offenders will be removed/banned from this thread.
So you are here for answers? We are here to help! Our Rezound community is full of well educated individuals who are more than happy to assist you with any Rezound objective you wish to accomplish. You need only ask. Keep in mind that asking within the thread allows everyone to see your question where as sending a pm limits you to the knowledge of one specific individual.
When you have questions about anything, one of us is bound to have an answer. We help people no matter the question, status, or experience.
The only stupid question, is a question that is not asked.
This OP will be modified over time to include FAQ's and links to other helpful materials.

You could make it the people you trust and other people would need to be qualified like a recognized contributor or something. I understand what you mean when you say it can be dangerous but I really think with the right people that having a group or list of people you can contact for help would really benefit the rezound community and maybe inspire other device communities to do the same.

change.org *Petition to unlock Verizon bootloader*

With the bounty of almost $4,000 (last time I checked) you would think that someone/recognized dev or team, would step up to this bounty of unlocking the bootloader on the Verizon variant of the S4. Even since the ME7 update, (mid July?), I am surprised! I thought I would put in my 2 cents of the topic. There is a website called change.org, which is an online petition website. I'm sure some of you have heard it.
Anyways, I saw a petition of the LG 4X. A guy made up a petition to unlock the boot loader. Soon enough, the amount of required signatures was reached, and LG came out with an update and BAM. Boot loader unlocked. Here is the link: http://www.change.org/petitions/lg-electronics-seoul-we-would-like-to-get-the-opportunity-to-unlock-bootloader-in-lg-phones
I'm going to create an petition for the Verizon S4, and hopefully, this works. Just a little bit of hope for you guys, I want it just as bad as everyone else.
You need to create an account on change.org, also you can use your facebook details. Doesn't matter. but make an account and sign!
Here is the petition, let me know what you think guys! :fingers-crossed: If I need to edit anything, let me know.
http://www.change.org/petitions/samsung-usa-and-verizon-wireless-unlock-the-bootloader-of-the-verizon-s4-sch-i545
EDIT: We've reached over 50 signatures! Keep em' coming guys. Thank you.
Verizon won't change their stance. That's why they attempt to please us by offering developer edition devices. That LG device you referenced to was a GSM unlocked device. It wasn't tied to any carrier specifically and therefore LG could directly appease those demanding change. Verizon offers the explanation in this article in regards to why it's locked and it's probably the same response you'll get. just my 2cents
still doesn't hurt to try. I'm in.
i think everyone who likes to mod their phones should try this petition.
Exactly what black_label said. It doesn't hurt to try. I see where you're coming from, but let's just see what happens. This petition is booming in the last hour.

[Q] Why there are so many 4.4 KK ROMs for international and none for AT&T/TELUS?

Hi everyone,
as the subject says I tried looking for an answer in the development forum, in the Q&A and overall around but I couldn't find a specific technical answer to the question above.
I know that the evitareul has the LTE radio part which (probably) could make things harder but is that the reason why there are so many 4.4 KK ROMs for INTERNATIONAL and no > 4.2.x for AT&T/TELUS?
for the Mods: if this is a duplicate post, feel free to merge it wherever you find appropriate and I'll read the answer there.
Thanks for all your answers and all the XDA DEVs and community work. :good:
Well, if you read in the current threads that are available for the AT&TOne X+, you would have seen that we have a kernel issue and that the only dev for the Att One X+ is @Lloir. He is waiting for 4.2.2 kernel source which I put in a request for not too long ago.
