Whats is the best to use in this device?
Size : 32gb
Class : I don't think it is really limited to the top end stuff like:: uhs 1
Should work fine or at whatever the maximum internal limits of the fascinate are
I have one of those for my camera, I could verify at some point

I don't think it will run the speeds the card is capable of but I believe it will do better than your normal class 10
Liken it to buying a Ferrari for use on our usa roads,,, cool and fun to own and certainly better than most all other sports cars,,, but you could do SO much more on better roads!!! if you can find a steal on it,, go for it!!
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda premium

Yeah just keep in mind the speed ratings refer to the transfer speed, not the internal memory speed which is going to be mostly the same for any type of card from how I understand it

Ok I was looking through the threads looking for exactly this...I'm getting a SanDisk ultra 32gb sdhc class 10 uhs 1 card for my s3 and want to get a second one for my son's fascinate...so this will work on the fascinate then, just likely not at full speed? Just want to be double sure before I buy them...the class 4 16gb seems to run extremely slow in the fascinate and apps randomly appear and dissapear randomly
Sent from my blackened liquid galaxy

Yes,,, you'll be fine. Way better than a class 4
And don't forget to tweak the:: buffer size/read ahead speed

Is a class 6 microSD card worth it?

I currently have a stock 8GB class 2 in the phone and i'm thinking of getting a class 6. I'm pretty much using 7 out of 8GB so i can manage it but it's getting rather close.
The 16GB one would cost me almost 60€ and that's a lot! The 8GB one would be only about 19€.
I didn't try ebay, maybe i could find something there. But given the price difference i think i'll stick with 8GB, what do you think?
The main reason i post here is to ask if there's going to be a NOTICEABLE difference in opening a gallery full of pictures, and picture saving time after taking a shot with the camera?
The HD recording is just a plus here, i just want the galery/shots taking to be faster. Anyone with experience?
thanks
EDIT: ok i've found this one on ebay and it has a USB reader so that i can still use my class 2 8gb as a usb stick so that's a money saver.
I've never had any experience with this company "Team", are their cards any good?

Well I bought it from eshop.gr and paid it 99 euros, it's 100% original but the phone itself can't handle faster chips, the difference is not that much, you might consider buying a 4 class which is by far cheaper!
i think i'll just get a class 6 8gb for 20$ and stick with that, that way i'll just use my old class 2 8gb in an adapter as a memory stick

for normal use, it sucks! i need to wait at least one minute for the gallery to open because of all my photos, isn't that because of a slow SD card? correct me if i'm wrong...
Be carefull when buying SD cards from Ebay. I bought an 8GB class 6 card once (no brand, from Hong Kong) and it turned out it's not really class 6 at all, more like class 2 or 4 (low transfer speeds). The class 6 card that came with my X10 is a true class 6 card (transfer speed of 6 MB/s).
I'm not saying all SD cards on Ebay are fake, but alot probably are (fake as in not the class they advertise).
heh, i already ordered one
it's from a top rated seller so i hope it'll be ok
thanks for the heads up
I have a class 6 16 gig, i did have a class 4 8 gig and i could not play need for speed as the game would freeze. now the game plays no problem with the class 6 card.
what does an SD card have anything to do with it?

[Q] Class 10 Micro SDHC cards?

Does anyone have a Class-10 MicroSDHC card running on their Atrix? If so, how's it performing? Thanks.

i have class 4, 6, and 10 and honestly i cannot tell the difference under normal use. The only reason I got class 6 then upgraded to class 10 was for apps2sd on my nexus. I havnet done any formal tests, but from practical, every day use, no difference.
I do transfer files a lot from pc to phone so of course class 10 transfers them quicker. But normally you are not running many things off of SD, maybe music, which class 2 or 4 is good enough for.

I am still on the good old 4 GB card I bought a couple years ago. Fares pretty good for all day-to-day activities.
I just put in a class 6 16GB and I don't notice that big of a difference. I don't think you'd really notice a difference unless you were looking hard.
The higher the class of card, the faster the read/write speeds are. Things is, you will only see these speeds if you are transferring big files. If you are just putting MP3's and small videos on the card, you won't see much of a difference. Sequential Write speeds are significantly faster than Random Write speeds, but Sequential Read speeds vs Random Read speeds, there is not much difference.

Have you tried the Class-10 card in the Atrix? If so, which model/size is it? Thx.
Everyone: Thanks for your inputs!
Class Speed rating ONLY applies to WRITE speeds - has nothing to do with read speeds. Primarily designated for camcorders and other devices that need guaranteed minimum speed for writing data.
The camcorder on the phone doesn't require a specific card class, so spending money on higher speed cards is not a great idea. If you are copying movies from pc to sd regularly then it will save you a bit of time - that is all.
http://www.sdcard.org/developers/tech/speed_class/ and wikipedia explain SD speed pretty simply.

I bought the Lexmar 32gig class 10. I don't see a huge difference unless I'm loading up the card with a lot of files at once.
Yes its as fast as the Patriot from all the specs I've seen but unless you can truly afford the minor difference, just get a lower class.

Saw a post FROM MOTO on the moto forums that says the Atrix can make use of the extra speed up to Class10.
FWIW.
My Kingston class 10 32GB card does not play nice with webtop2sd. However, I can format it with the system. I have not tried to write files to it but writing fat32 filesystems works for sure. It seems as if I can read from the card too. I see the folder created during the fat32 partition creation.
The issue I seem to have is that it cannot create extfs filesystems on the card using the phone. I can use gparted to make the filesystem, but then webtop2sd cannot read it.

[Q] New SD card help

I'm considering buying a class 6 8 GB sd card because i heard it might be the best for xperia x10. Any insight or any recommendations for a specific SD you may think is better?
why 8gb? I think the package comes with an 8gb card right? might as well upgrade to 16gb!

mine was shipped with a 2gb. Im not too concerned about the size, more somewhat with the performance, although i know the sd card doesnt add much to performance.
Try this i checked it out on my x10a and with the settings.
Wintec filemate mobile pro 16gb class 10 this has 1080p video recording capabilities.
and read this a copy of my post for settings.
This I think is a better way is to just use

This helps a little bit too. Tried it on the 2gb that was included but it only had minor increase in performance. Not sure the class on it.

I have a SanDisk 32GB Class 4 MicroSDHC, works perfectly and doesnt slow down the phone.
I have watched 1080 video via MHL from the SD card.
Yes, 32GB is max. Open case so you can see what sdcard goes inside. No it doesnt make your phone slower, I think. But 32+16 GB is too much, so it might lagg a bit.

As long as the SD card has good enough random reads/writes it wont slow the system down at all (aka as long as its a good card its fine, aka the Scandisk ones are a safe bet, and actually the lower classes have better random read/writes).
The only thing is that if you have a lot of media the media scanner will take longer to finish (derr).
Thanks everybody, was also gonna ask the same question.
Nope. Sandisk 64GB micro SDXC works just fine with SGS2. However, I digress...
I concur with Veyka, my Sandisk 32GB/Class 4 works more than admirably for pretty much any/everything I've thrown at it so far. And they're fairly cheap too (<$50 AUD for me).

It's better to take some class 6 or class 10 card (but class10 is abit expensive and its almost no difference in most cases on SGS2).
The card will not slow your phone by itself, but a lot of files or media can slowdown mediascaner abit and increase battery consumption by mediascaner.
Just wanted to jump in with a reminder. The class rating of the card refers to the write speeds. So the class is irrelevant when you're talking about the performance of opening/reading files. The class is only relevant when writing to it.
That said, get a brandnamed card. I recommend Sandisk. I have a Class 2 32GB Sandisk that actually performs (from my testing) faster than a Class 4 rating.

Yes SD card classes shows minimum write speed (because before classes some manufacturers was "cheating" using "×" as read speed)
But read speed usualy almost equal to write speed. So reading from class10 card is for sure faster than reading from class 4 card. Just check this article on wikipedia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#.C3.97_rating

That appears to be on a case-by-case basis depending on the card manufacturer.
From my own testing, my Class 2 32GB card can write at about 4MB/s (which is on par with a Class 4 card).
I also have a Class 10 8GB card which obviously can write faster than the Class 2.
But both of them are neck-and-neck when it comes to read speeds.

NP ;-) I paid a bit more than that for mine ($48 @ MSY from memory), so you're doing well if you can get one for 40 bucks.
I don't see the point of paying a lot more (double and more) for a card with a higher class rating for pretty much negligible improvement in "performance". We are talking about a phone after all, and this card handles 1080 video (recording it/writing it to the card) just fine which is probably the most "intensive" activity the phone is capable of.

I have a Samsung 16gb class 10........ its the best card i've had... All i will say, pay a little more for a good brand, or your next thread you will be complaining about errors and sd card problems
For normal day to day usage in the phone there'd be very little difference in a class 4 or 10 card. However copying 32gb onto a class 4 card is a slow progress !! Spend the little extra and go class 10.

32gb microSDHC

Anyone here use a 32gb microSDHC in their Rezound? If so, is the performance just as good as what came with the phone? Also, any experience with Class 10 vs something slower? I'm pretty sure that would only really affect video but I assume the one they packaged with the phone was worthwhile.
Anyway, I saw Amazon has a Class 4 (slow) 32gb for $19 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0056TYX8U) and figured I might grab it so I can store more music on my phone.

Feel free to move. (whomever)
i invested in a class 10 32gig'er and i would not have it anyother way...especially if you plan on using the HD Cam mod that doesnt compress pictures...absolutely beautiful pics and no lag between snapshots...as far as the video...ive recorded several 720p videos and they look pretty good as well, plus youll have hours and hours of video with even a few gigs...i have about 20gigs of music and some movies and tons of ruu and roms...with the 8gb that are left i can still record 4 hours of 720 p video...i prefer 720p to the 1080p option because 1080p records at 20 fps vs 30 fps for 720p, id much rather have smooth video...i also prefer the lower megapixel settings than the full 8 just because no ever needs to print a picture the size of a billboard...but none-the-less i couldnt imagine my rezound with out one, infact the only thing that kept me from buying a class 6 64 gig card was the difference in speed, it is so much more important than the size
I use a Class 4 32gb that came with my old Thunderbolt. Still using it with no issues whatsoever, and I play music and videos from it a lot.
I got a class 10 32GB on one of the amazon.com lightning deals one time for $31. It's blazing fast. Can't speak to slower ones. I used a class 6 16GB before that, which I loved.
To tell you the truth; I pretty much filled up my 32g. Got a 64g in it now.
I have a class 4 32gb also, haven't had any problems with it. I think the speed is about 8MB/sec IIRC.

The speed class you choose should depend on how you plan to use the storage. If you're going to be writing/reading data constantly, then you'll benefit from a proper class 10 mSDHC. If you plan on filling it up once and adding to it occasionally, then a class 4 or 6 would be fine, IMO.
I have two of these and enjoy the consistent 18MB/s read and 15MB/s write speed: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211558
Does it make the phone itself faster during normal use (compared to a slower card), probably not. However, it makes transferring roms, nandroids and music/video much more bearable. In the end, it's up to you and your usage style to decide if the higher speed cards will be of benefit.
More info on the definition of SD speed class specifications can be read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#Speed_Class_Rating
If your budget will allow, go for a class 10. Just in case you need to transfer some big file in the future.
