i'm sorry sir. The rom I used was WanamLite 12.8. After upgrading from 12.7 to 12.8 this problem just appeared. It was just after flashing sir. And another thing ive noticed is that when you long press power button, only shutdown and reboot are present and no flight mode and data connection etc is shown.

Actually I've never had this problems... I did try both WanamLite versions, but I always do a full wipe so I never face any troubles. Maybe try that after a Nandroid backup?

[Q] Home Button Disabled?

[Q] Home Button Problem

Hey!
First of all, sorry for my english there will be some failures in the text below.
Here we go, thats what happened:
1) I updated the firmware on my Stock Galaxy I9300 with Kies to Android 4.1.2
All works great the first day.
Next day the power-on button was nearly without function:
no menue appears (restart, shutdown, offline mode, ...) when pressing it and no screen off function. Only shutdown works by
pressing the button longer.
After restart, all works correct for short time (30min - 3h)
2) I read in the internet that a factory reset helps and after a update it is recommended to do this. So i pressed the volume up button + home
button + power off/on and made a factory reset in the menue.
Since i've done this, the power off/on button works correct (menue appers, screen of function works)
BUT
now my home button don't work anymore. Without any function. Can't wake up my phone or go to the Homescreen.
Yesterday the home button suddenly works correct for a short time (a few minutes)
Really strange is, that when i do something on the phone, sometimes the phone switch to the task manager menue short time (like i was
pushing the home button long time)
I don't know what i should do now, i made 2 factory resets and it doesn't help. (realy annoying to make all settings/apps again after reset)
I think there are more users with this problem. Some of them wrote a factory reset helps
Maybe flash with odin (But i don't know whether it helps and how to do this) And also flashing = no waranty
Please can somebody give me a hint to solve this problem?
Thanks for your answeres,
Best Regards
Please can someone help me.
Any ideas?
If not i've to flash or send in the phone (this means 3 weeks no Phone :crying: )
Download the same firmware from sammobile and flash it using odin. Factory reset, bit if the problem persists, I'd send it off to samsung

Thanks for your response.
My problem now is that i cant flash my phone because if i go to dowload mode then i am asked to press volume up to enter dowload mode or volume down to restart. If i press up or down it doesnt matter, i cant do anything. No restart no dowload mode :/ i stack in the menue till i restart the phone.
In the recoery menue the volume buttons work.
Nothing than troubles with my phone (had it already 1 time to repair)
I think i will use my phone from now on without the home button. Dont want to send it back and w8t another 3 weeks to get it back.
If you don't mind treading the rooting methods, install exynosabuse app from chainfire to root your device and try use mobile odin instead? I thought your buttons do work on occasion but can't say much else.
If you wish to keep everything clean, I'd say send it to samsung and see what they can do..

thank you for your help!
The way with exynosabuse app and mobile odin and then flashing the phone would probably help, but it is to risky for me.
I will w8t for the next KIES update.
If it solves my problems it is great, if not i will send my phone to samsung.
By the way, do you know when samsung releases a new update für the S3?
Now i've the 4.1.2
Won't be for quite some time I'd say.. though they have the LLA firmware, that's still 4.1.2..
I guess they'd update once they fix the sudden death issue.

Maybe I don't understand? If you hold the power button yes your phone will turn off, if you just press it briefly and it turns off then yes that's an issue.

No, if you hold the power button your phone will ask you if you want to Reboot, Turn off, Silent mode, Airplane mode.. etc
mine just turn off immediately.

continuous reboot

Hello All,
I have a problem, a continuous reboot, I make a full format of the device and re-flashing the official rom for many times and the problem still not solved ..
I took it to the agent and told me that matherboard is the problem ..
Then I took it to a phone repair shop, told me that the problem is not in matherboard but I can solve it in another way by flashing rom without Odin or kies ..
Is there another device that specializes in the installation of devices to Roms..
Please help me to solve the problems,

[Q] HELP! My SGS3 is rebooting endlessly, bootloop? :(

So my phone is having a problem, not sure if it is a bootloop or what Whenever my I tried to reboot my phone, it'll show my desktop for about 2-3 seconds then it reboots again and again. I have to removed my battery for about 30 minutes then put it back on and if im lucky, it'll boot successfully. Then when I play COC or used FB with my data network, it suddenly reboots, so another endless boot
I'm out of idea what to do, so please help me Here are the things I've tried:
1. Flashed stock rom from sam mobile through Odin
2. Factory reset in stock rom
3. Delete cache/dalvik and factory reset in stock recovery
4. Factory reset in TWRP (latest version) & advance wipe including my internal SD
5. Flash stock rom using KIES
But still no chance of getting out of this rebooting issue Is my phone damaged cause of too much flashing? Is the "FORMAT" option under the "WIPE" section in TWRP safe? and what will happen if I format?
thanks!
I have seen many posts like yours before and I don't think this is a software issue ( especially after you have flashed stock rom) It looks like your power button keeps getting stuck I recommend replacing it.

Agreed, flashing stock should solve it but seeing as it hasn't..
It seems on the power rail if you apply common sense, power button or battery failing would be my first 2.

I've had this issue on my S3 and it turned out to be the push button was stuck. You could try tapping the button against the desk to see if it can "loosen" up the button for you

hey guys. I don't think it was the power button? because after a few minutes I removed my battery and put it back on, it boots successfully. One more thing, my phones LED is replace on a samsung care center a month ago, so most of the hardware are brandnew including the power button.
Have you guys ever tried the "FORMAT" option in the TWRP? Hoping it would solve my problem

Its quite easy to solve do a megawipe >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/tool-mega-wipesuper-wipefactory-t1832326 << this will wipe/format everything that could cause a software issue (Make sure you have a rom on ext SD because It deletes the Data, Cache, System and Preload partitions of your internal memory BE WARNED!) If that does not work then change battery if that fails to work it is hardware issue (maybe power button was not put back correctly or other hardware issue) But to be honest this is looking more and more like a hardware issue.:crying:

hey guys! One more observation, whenever my phone boots up successfully, it is working just fine. I can update the apps in the new rom through Play store. But when the apps requested permission for Google play services and I tap on it, it automatically reboots my phone. When I tried to login to my FB account using the apps in the playstore, it happen the same thing. On the other hand, when I use the stock browser, nothing seems to have a problem.
So, what's with the google play services?
