LMT LAUNCHER
Do this first before use the TOGGLE.
In settings you have to choose your device, it works with (NEXUS 7).

What exactly have you tried? I can't REcompile 4.2 apks yet, but if tablet UI really was removed in 4.2, couldn't the navbar layout file in SysUI be tweaked instead?
The layout file for the navbar doesn't specify a layout gravity or padding. So, wouldn't it be possible to apply those two layout properties to the parent's framelayout to push the keys left?
I would definitely try this, but the N10 I have now is being returned when my 32GB N10 comes in next week...

Yes, but he is suggesting that ppl use LMT launcher (essentially soft key replacement if used right) and then use the toggle to hide the stock keys.

Anyone heard if button savior is going to be updated for 4.2? The menu button doesn't work so it's pretty much unusable.

another, perhaps more drastic, option is use ROMs that are bringing back the old tabletUI (like Paranoid Android).

I don't have to root or anything for this, right? Sideloading these apps will just work on a stock Nexus 10?

If you don't have to root the N10 is this something I could do if I'm based in the uk? Dont see LTM on the play store

FULL SCREEN TOGGLE only works after you reboot, so set it, then reboot... but make sure you have LMT setup and auto-start, or else you'll have no home button!!!

Not sure what crack everyone's smokin, but LMT doesnt move your softkeys. Else I have no idea how to use it, cuz it doesnt work for me.

Yeah, me too. Don't know how it should work.

Yes, it would be great if the navigation buttons could be moved around.
Personally I would like them on the right hand side - of whatever way up I am using.
It is really annoying with the thing sitting comfortably in my lap to have to lift it up to clear my sweater or shirt every time I want to to go back, or to access another app.

First you have to set your Keys on LMT its not just Open it and its done. Pie = something like a key ,its works like when u use the AOSP browser with full screen, that you have buttons at the side and you get like half a circle with options and you move your finger to it. Or you can just set gestures to go back, home or open apps, depends on taste.
- But no, it doesnt move your soft keys to the left, it gives you something better imho, more accesible.
- shadow thanks never tried to rebooot it worked well...

So do you finally need to root your device for this combination of LMT and toggle fullscreen?
Is anyone able to confirm, that it is working without root...?

I can't get gestures to work, but pie does. Any suggestions?
Edit: Pie is going to be much better anyway, but still a bit dumbfounded as to why it works on my N4 but not N10.

How has no one answered this simple question yet?
Sorry if I sound unappreciative. I appreciate the info but a lot of us who aren't rooted would like to know .

Both apps request root access on my devices, so I would imagine it is required.

[APP] Honey Hide Widget V3.0!(hides system bar)

Hey guys I forgot who had requested a widget to show/hide the system bar In Honey Comb, but here it is! I had a couple people test it before I released it to the market. This is to be used by people who use the Hardware Buttons in HoneyComb. Enjoy
March 18, 2012
Version 3.0 has been released! It includes a smaller widget (1×1) that was requested by users as well as the ability to restore the status bar when the screen turns off. The latter feature allows the widget to be used by more devices that do not have hardware keys.
Along with version 3.0 I have also released a donate version. This version is exactly the same as the free version but costs one dollar for those who feel generous!
You can download it on the android market place by clicking Here for free and Here for donate
Feb 13, 2012
Version 2.0 brings along a new layout as well as more reliable code!

And just incase someone trys this without hardware buttons and opens an app while the bar is hidden the command you can run to get your bar back is:
Code:
am startservice -n com.android.systemui/.SystemUIService
If you feel like donating all money will be put towards my school loans

thanks for this...i haven't installed it because after my initial grumbling i actually prefer the HW buttons off, but it's good to have options

Thanks Victor, works very well and I really like the looks of the screen without the bar
Edit: can the icon be themed?
This is a lot better than honeybar which gets in the way. Thanks!
Unfortunately, htc scribe apps still don't like the removed bar. Good for watching video and reading pdfs though.
EDIT: I have a small request. Can you please make the buttons or hitboxes a little bigger? Sometimes it takes a frustratingly large amount of touches to register a show or hide.
Thank you. Great app.

Actually, in that line, I would simply suggest a one-cell toggle (on or off). It was a somewhat curious decision to make two buttons instead of an on/off toggle.

Version 2.0!
Just updated the widget might take a while to reflect on the marketplace but I changed the layout as suggested, it now has a single button. I also optimized the code and changed how things are done internally to ensure that the bar is hidden/shown. Hope you guys enjoy
P.S If you guys want a new icon Post a 512x512 icon im really bad at being creative lol. Ill let you guys choose the best icon and ill change it up
just indispensable.
Just found your update--love it!
I instaled this but v 1.0 - i loved functonality but not the look on it and hard to press a button. So i was very happy to see this. Went on market instaled v 2.0 but no widget apears . App is listed in instaled app. Any help? I did try to uninstal and reinstal; did reboots in between as well.

check in data/app for the apk and try installing it that should make it work not sure why it wouldn't install normally for you

I like the fact that the widget is a toggle, and maybe this is a silly question, but why do you make it take two icon widths (2x1) rather than just a normal 1x1 icon?

Pretty self explanatory. Rename the apk. Put the apk in /system/framework change permissions and reboot.
Now just to disable the capacitive buttons.
My DPI is 240 btw. On Dagr8 alpha2.
Feel free to mirror since dropbox has limits.

NavBar update.zip
SystemUI Blue buttons for manual edits
NavBar for dagr8's Hybrid RC2
SystemUI for Hybrid with menu always shown
This is experimental and has not been tested by me because I am running Hybrid with the tablet ui and not NavBar. Recommend nandroid before trying.

As always, feel free to buy me a beer.

Makes it into a tablet UI. sort of. Two columns instead of taking you to a whole new screen.

Change permissions to what?
Any way to get the soft keys to show up in tablet mode? Like when you change dpi to 213. There are no soft keys or notification area at the bottom.
Op. Just try to call someone you'll see the dialer. The problem is the buttons they shrink the native resolution that will fiddle with other misc apps as well..
Also unless running custom dpi this is not very practical..
You can mod phone to never turn on lights this will make you believe they are gone..
home button and the back button should pretty much be the only useful ones I dunno why google went with 3 or 4 in the first place.iguess it's just by design but even the back button is arguable.

Can someone post the original. I forgot to back mine up.
nice work, issues with camera also you can still use it but its quite diificult.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Does this only give you the 3 buttons at the bottom or does it give you the time popup also with settings and toggles?
The navigation bar uses contextual buttons, so they'll change depending on the situation. the menu button only appears when there is a menu option. It also places the menu button in the unfortunate location if the dead zone in the very bottom right corner of the screen where a lot of people can't get the s--pen to work.
None of the Samsung Touchwiz apps work properly with the navigation bar. They don't adjust for the real estate the navigation bar uses. Also many of them don't use a contextual menu button properly so there is no way too get into menu settings in done apps. Others, like contacts, place them in bad places so they are fight to press because they are under another active button.
The solution is to replace the affected apps with modded versions, but I've had little luck with that. The ICS MMS app in the market works well though.
Im am truly in love now..... its a little shaky in vertical mode.... everything is bunched close together ... i wind up using go launcher cause touchwiz couldnt handle this change...using gosms for texting.. the phone and camera is affected .. no way around that...smh.... but in horizontal .... its works lovely.... is there a way for it to have dual sides only in horizontal .... and regular in vertical mode???anways... love the progress... now i defiantly have that icecream feel to it... lol.. thanks

[MOD][Xposed] Immerse Me - KitKat Immersive Mode for all apps

Requires Xposed Framework!
This module forces Immersive mode for all applications on KitKat. The effect is similar to CM's Expanded Desktop mode.
Users wanting to configure this on a per-app basis should look out for an App Settings update, when I push a patch against it.

first runs present 2 issues, for apps that already have an underlay dont think they are full screened. other apps can still override the full screen status. combined with hiding nav bar fixes the offset bugs though.
nice for a first run though, will be watching this closely
PS: if you can preserve it, I do like the periodic popup of the notification shade
pps: 3rd issue, because your actually hooking the change event and letting changes slip through, terminal flips out and is inusable, please fix

Awesome module. I noticed two issues with it myself. 1. When using LMT (Pie) I can't use the control to bring down the notification shade. It doesn't do anything when I click that item. 2. Chatheads for Facebook Messenger don't show up then they will randomly show up for a split second then go away. Other then that, I am loving this, makes my Note 2 even "bigger". Thanks!

OK I try it out
Yes, but this is a kind of a bug.
I'm installing it at the moment. Here are some bugs :
1) The on-screen buttons do not appear during set-up, which makes me restart the phone every time I make a mistake
2) When dragged down, the notification bar is really choppy, along with QS tiles
3) It could be me, but I cannot manage to use Multiwindow (I could on Lineage)
4) When I turn on the flashlight with long-press of the power button when the screen is off, when I double tap to wake up the phone, the flashlight automatically turns off
Nope.. But this problem was in pure nexus by rcstar.. And it has been fixed later.. Before los
Is this ROM support F2FS?
Thanks

1) I'll look into it
2) Try changing the input boost
3)
1. Go to developer options
2. At the bottom of page you'll find force activites to be re-sizeable, enable that.
3. Go to configurations. Buttons. Navigation bar. Smart bar settings. Toggle button editor. There you will find options to change the buttons toggle. From there change the long press of recents to split screen.
4) not sure

It should do but I've not tested it

2) How do I do that?
3) Thank you !
4) On MM it didn't do that
5) Not only call over bluetooth is broken. I think Bluetooth itself is broken. My watch gets constantly disconnected for no reason
6) I have random reboots but It looks like I'm the only one. Here's the logs I managed to record right before the crash. I tried to test the rom with Antutu and it crashed during the test. I think the random reboots are not that random and are related to CPU or GPU intensive application. I have recorded another log during the Antutu test; hope it helps you.

FYI: Change the sound played when charger plugged in

I have used the following to change the sound that is played when the charger is plugged in.
Code:
settings put global wireless_charging_started_sounds "/storage/emulated/0/Notifications/Road Runner - Meep Meep.mp3";
settings put global charging_started_sound "/storage/emulated/0/Notifications/Road Runner - Meep Meep.mp3";
I do the above via a shell, it can also be done via ADB.
@DiamondJohn
Thanks for your advice, has worked excellently on Pixel 4a.
Is it possible via a command to turn off the screen by double clicking on the status bar? My former smartphone Motorola X Play from 2015 had this feature and I miss it.

I use a VERY customize-able launcher. Its called Lightning Launcher, its a paid app but the default setup when you get it is crap. I have used it since Gingerbread and never looked back. BUT you can really do whatever your want. Including adding code. And rotating widgets and/or icons and stretching them etc etc etc
I have put gestures (ie associate code/scripts) which gestures on widgets/hidden hotspots. So, for example, if I click the left hand side of one wide widget, it acts normally and opens the weather details. However, if I click the right side, I run a script that hibernates select apps (basically all ) and then TURNS THE SCREEN OFF. I use this method instead of tapping my power button. Its easier as its on the screen I am using when I want to turn it off,and on a previous phone (Nexus 5) thepower button became notorious for failing on most.
Attached are the the scripts and the config file where I add/edit which apps to hibernate. It also has an include to renice the live wallpaper to the background
I also have it where I swipe up on another widget and it turns AOD on and swipe down turns it off. VERY handy being able to switch it on temporarily when I need to be somewhere on time and want too leave it to the last minute and know how long I got till I have to get moving.

I hate posting screen shots of my home screen, as the wallpaper is a live wall paper of the solar system, and its beautiful! as it flys between and orbits planets and sees the earth and its orbiting moon. A static image really does it injustice.
PS: My phone is also a Pixel 4A (non 5g)
Is there a certain command that can bebused in the same way to change Lock and Unlock sounds as well as touch sound? Thanks

I have not tested it, but I ran a report on all settings using the app TeMeFI and filtered it down to ones that have the word "sound" in it, and this gave the following list:
Code:
File: * LAST UNSAVED RESULTS * SEP=============================;
Include: sound
charging_sounds_enabled=1
sync_parent_sounds=0
lockscreen_sounds_enabled=1
notification_sound=content://[email protected]/external/audio/media/5028
notification_sound_set=1
sound_effects_enabled=1
car_dock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Dock.ogg
car_undock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Undock.ogg
charging_started_sound=/storage/emulated/0/Notifications/Road Runner - Meep Meep.mp3
desk_dock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Dock.ogg
desk_undock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Undock.ogg
dock_sounds_enabled=0
dock_sounds_enabled_when_accessbility=0
lock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Lock.ogg
low_battery_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/LowBattery.ogg
low_battery_sound_timeout=0
max_sound_trigger_detection_service_ops_per_day=1000
power_sounds_enabled=1
sound_trigger_detection_service_op_timeout=15000
trusted_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Trusted.ogg
unlock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Unlock.ogg
wireless_charging_started_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/ChargingStarted.ogg
wireless_charging_started_sounds=/storage/emulated/0/Notifications/Road Runner - Meep Meep.mp3
So I would say yes. (see lock_sound & unlock_sound). Touch sound may require a magisk module.

Nice! Thanks! I will try this. The touch sound is actually named Effect.tick.ogg I believe but still should be possible, thanks for the help!

What I am saying, it does not appear to be in the "settings", irrelevant of what its called. As I said, it will be possible using Magisk, I just did not find it in settings.

That's awesome! Do you think it would work the same for all Android phones or is it only for stock Android on Pixels? Asking since Samsung use their own launcher with themed system sounds.
Thanks!

I have changed to a Custom A11 Rom (Bliss), and it works. This ROM covers multiple devices.
Thank you! Does this method need root access?

I do it in a boot script, which has root, and everything i test I also default to running as root. Your going to need to test it yourself.
