Hi all.
This is for all Star Trek fans. I have made up a theme to make are vegas look like the LCARS panels used in Star Trek. You do need a few apps installed to make it happen. Most are free, the others can be replaced by free alternatives. This is currently just one screen, i do plan on adding two others. Just trying to find some inspiration for them. Also plan on changing the ENGINEERING text at the top to change when the home page is changed, when i get the time. This is only designed for use with the home screen set to Landscape, this can be set in ADW Launcher settings (explained below).
Apps needed:
Desktop visualizer - Bii,Inc
ADW launcher (i use the free version) - AnderWeb
Beautiful widgets (for time and weather widget, not free) - LevelUp Studio
System Monitor Lite 4 - gsjavadev
First install the above apps then set ADW settings as below.
ADW Settings:
Screen preferences,
Hide status bar: Checked
Wallpaper scrolling: Unchecked
Hide icon labels: Checked
Auto stretch: Unchecked
Desktop Columns: 8
Desktop Rows: 8
General Behavior,
Home screen binding: Move to default desktop
Swipe down actions: Open/close App Drawer (For swipe panel)
Swipe up actions: Show/hide statusbar (For swipe panel)
System Preferences,
Home Orientation: Landscape
UI Settings,
Main Dock Style: None (expanded desktop)
Applying the theme:
Unpack the LCARS Theme.zip and transfer the files to your Vega, then set the LCARSBackground.png as the wallpaper. Then start adding Desktop visualizer widgets, use the screenshot for reference. The top for buttons are 2x1 the eight middle are 1x1 and the bottom two large are 3x1. The settings button is 1x1, and the two swipe panels are 1x4. Set the image and application settings by tapping the empty desktop visualizer. Making sure to tap clear on the label option. You can go to the trouble of setting the appropriate touch effect colour to match the button colour. Time consuming but makes it look good. Thats it your vega should look like a LCARS pad!!

Thats coincidence, I am working in Quedgeley this week. Feel pity for any one you see walking around in a green t-shirt carrying a Hand held terminal
Its DS9 thats my fav. That is what inspired me to make this theme.

i'm having troubles with the lock screen...the QQ Launcher Lockscreen works perfectly, but my default lockscreen runs together with it. Any way i could disable the default lockscreen and use only QQ's Lock?! Thanks!

i'm using a plain android rom...somehow the "disable lockscreen" option didn't worked, and may of the apps for doing it neither...but i've found one that works (No Lock). It was the only one that really worked no my xperia x10i.
But thank for the tip Spyder!

great launcher, i'm using it right now... gonna stay some time on my phone.
one thing about lockscreen... i disable lockscreen in cyanogenmod settings, and it's working ok. but... when i hit power button, the lockscreen stays on for 30 seconds (just like screen timeout time). the default one is on for 5 sec.
... and that's the only problem i have, if i can call it one.

Auto Rotate Screen?
I just installed this launcher and have been enjoying it a lot so far. I have noticed though that when I slide my phone open the screen does not rotate to the landscape view. I went into Settings/Display and made sure that Auto-Rotate Sceen was checked, but that doesn't fix the problem. Can anyone help me out?

I'm having the same prob with lack of auto-rotate, doesn't even go to landscape once the keyboard is slid out....is this a portrait-only launcher? HELP!

Its simular to MiUi Launcher. It works btw but at start you may get a FC. Its fast its got style. Oh and it has a lockscreen inside. Greatest launcher ever.

I like this launcher but regrettably I switched back to GO because of the FC problem (even did a hard reset and redo all apps installation and configuration still same problem... **sigh**)... hopefully they could fix the bug cause I really like the responsiveness and simplicity of it... btw, it has the most responsive lock screen I have used...

I've been using Holo for about a month now....was waffling between it and Zeam after going a long time on Go Launcher. I was looking for a way to simplify my desktop into one screen with folders that feature my most used apps and trying to get a memory use reduction out of my launcher. Zeam was doing the memory thing well, but the folders were absolutely bland and unappealing, not to mention they wouldn't close after selecting an app to use. Holo does all those things well, but my only gripe is I can't seem to keep it in memory. After using a memory hungry app on my phone for an extended amount of time, the launcher has to restart when going back home. I guess I should stop expecting "smartphone" performance out of my Milestone and realize it's a touchscreen phone that can do some smart things....eventually.
I've put this thread here to give you guys a variety of launchers found on the market. I, like many of you, get bored using the stock launcher or it hasn't got the ability to customize it the way we'd like, so we'd like more a choice. So rather than having to find them all over the place I will keep everything here in one place.
If you notice any information in this guide which is incorrect, or any bad links, let me know and I'll fix it as soon as possible. This application has been designed to minimize memory usage and be fast: the more memory you have for your applications, the faster they will run. In other words Lightning Launcher has been built from the ground to preserve your phone's resources and keep it smooth.
In spite of its ridiculously small size (less than 60kb!), Lightning Launcher is packed with a fair amount of features and brings to Android a very unique concept: the home screen can be seen as a giant surface on which you are free to put icons, shortcuts or widgets exactly where YOU WANT, and not limited to a 4x4 grid. Cheers man. Yeah I did notice the other suggestions, but I'll leave them for now and see what the people in this one suggest, it keeps everyone more involved that way
And even though I've got reserve spaces, I'll need those for the other launchers, but I've asked one of the mods if he can add a few spaces in right after the OP, so at least that way it's all one after the other, rather than all over the place. I'm just awaiting a reply to see if he can do it :fingerscrossed:

This application has been designed to minimize memory usage and be fast: the more memory you have for your applications, the faster they will run. In other words Lightning Launcher has been built from the ground to preserve your phone's resources and keep it smooth.
In spite of its ridiculously small size (less than 60kb!), Lightning Launcher is packed with a fair amount of features and brings to Android a very unique concept: the home screen can be seen as a giant surface on which you are free to put icons, shortcuts or widgets exactly where YOU WANT, and not limited to a 4x4 grid. Pinch to zoom in or out the desktop, use the home key to switch between a full scale view or the normal size, or double tap on empty space as in the web browser to immediately see all your icons. And everything stay functional whatever the zoom level is: widgets are alive, icons can be clicked, and so on.
Lightning Launcher drops rarely used features and focuses on useful ones but comes nevertheless with numerous customization options. Icons and widgets can be moved, scaled and even rotated freely. Each object can be configured independently, you can change the font, the label, the icon and much more !
The package is extremely small, only a few kilobytes. What it means is that the Android system do not need to load several megabytes to run this app. Lightning Launcher starts faster and run in perfect harmony with your other apps.
For people kindly asking why the CALL_PHONE permission is needed (notice that this the only one needed by LL!): this is needed for direct call shortcuts, and this permission is included in all major launchers, including Go and Pro.

I had installed Mi Locker and had used for 2 days, Issues found were
1) Zipper does not work on my Note2, I mean the background is not getting set.
2) Inspite of installing this locker, randomly stock locker also crops ups making me to go with an extra step.
3) Pressing home key makes the locker ineffective and opens the lock.
Are there any specific settings that have to be done, if yes then can you pls share them. I am using Apex launcher.

to be honest mate MiLocker is more for MIUI roms..but there is an option in settings were you can disable stock lockscreen and only use the MIlocker one
This is for all launchers...Well the most popular ones like GO/Apex and Nova..

hello all,
when I try to make a picture as a wallpaper, I face a problem. Some blue lines are coming and I can' t put all size of the picture as a wallpaper.
Is there a possible solution for this?

Which is the most stable lockscreen in the list? I just want a simple lockscreen that will work with Poweramp and stuff. I seriously hate it when Samsung modifies the stock lockscreen.

try widget locker or try jkay lockscreens if he has jumped to the Note..he has always made good mods
