Create shortcut to certain setting in JB? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to somehow create a shortcut to a specific setting with JB either with tasker or some other app? I'd like to quickly be able to get to the setting where you can quickly enable/disable notifications for an app.
Thanks

If you wanna create something like an shortcut to eg the battery in the android settings, you could use nova launcher. It has the option to start a single activity from an app.

(REQUEST) Simple apk to launch a activity.

Hi all can a make a request for some one to make me a simple apk to add a icon to the app drawer and launch a activity I dont want the app to have a ui I just need it to launch a activity. This will be for a custom ROM. This is a script that would do the same thing.

Also could the app be named Finger navigation. Thanks

By app drawer do you mean the folder that shows your installed apps? If so your request doesn't make sense as all installed apps go there.
If however you mean on your home screen just hold finger down til menu shows and on there choose "application" and then choose the app you want on it. Then it puts the icon on screen for you.

I mean the 1st option some apps dont go into the app drawer basically I know I can just make a shortcut on the desktop to the selected activity but I would like a installable apk that launches the above activity from the app drawer not as a shortcut on the desktop. If any one can make this I will be very greatfull.

Turn off notifications and use an app like light flow.
Use a different MMS app.

This.
I use Handcent and there is an option in settings to set the "Do Not Wake Screen" setting.
You need to go into your stock SMS app settings and uncheck notification options though.
As suggested by another user, turn off notifications in the sms app. Download an app called sms popup in the play store. Go into that app. Disable the popup notification. Set the rest of the settings such as the notification icon, notification sound, etc. With all that done, you essentially have the stock app behaving the way you want. I've been rocking this solution along with light manager for a few weeks and it's flawless.

Tectile profile widget

Is there an app/widget (for root or stock) that can activate the profiles created in samsung tectile app? I don't want to have to have another tectile just to return to a normal profile, would be fine doing it from a widget. Currently I go through the app to return to a normal, kind of a pita...

I don't know about an app to trigger a tectile, but you could use Tasker to change what you want.
Steep learning curve, but incredibly powerful.

I don't know why but I read the title as "testicle." What the hell is tectile? I've never heard of it.
Edit: Ah, nvm. I did a quick google. Believe it or not I've had 3 different devices with NFC and have never even used it once.
I'll give Tasker a try. I am alright with learning curves. It looks like I can create a "normal" profile and just activate that through a widget. Thanks for the response.

NFC task launcher can set the NFC tags to have 2 tasks, I. El. One to mute sound, then tap again to turn sound back on.

Google Play Bug

In settings, I have auto add widget unchecked but every time I download a program, it adds a icon to my desktop. Does this happen to anyone else?
Thanks.
The icon isn't a widget. I don't think there is a setting anymore for not adding the icon

Though this would make logical sense, it is incorrect. The play store considers icons to be widgets. On my nexus, for example, unticking that box stops icons from being auto-added. Seems to be a bug. Alternatively, this could be something coded into touchwiz, to always add new apps to the homescreen.

Happens to me and drives me bonkers!
If you uncheck auto-add it won't add unless your launcher(like nova) also has it's own settings for auto-adding. Nova's settings have a section called new which also has an auto add feature.
This feature is the single most annoying feature in all of android IMO.

Damn I feel stupid; my Nova launcher prime did in fact have that setting enabled. Thanks for saving me future headaches.

Why does my phone only show one new notification per app?

If I have 2 notifications from the same app, the first one disappears and the second one takes its place in the status bar. Is there a way to change this?
Do you have a ROM installed. Or any tweaking apps?

No, completely stock. All my apps are pretty standard stuff, I think the one that does it the most is the bank of America app. As I'm typing this I'm realizing that most other apps give me all notifications. So it's not all apps doing this, just some. Is that part of how that particular app was written or is it a phone setting somewhere?
